  • A message for the youth of today....get off Facebook,get a life and c'Mon and let's rock.

  • The bass player has a set of legs

  • @albduke1 you mean d'arcy? not "the bass player"

  • I can't believe something I saw in high school is now "classic". Thank you for posting this, it took me right back.

  • i wish i was born in the 80s or somthin... i was born in 98... now i have to grow up with this crap music thats becoming so popular! i love the smashing pumpkins and watching this video makes me really upset. why cant thing now be like in the 90s... awesome!

  • @JoshLuke864 at least youre young and have the chance to change the world yourself! :P

  • @JoshLuke864 i know exactly how you feel, i was born in 96 and i wish i was born in the 80's or 70's coz popular music nowadays sucks dick,

  • @DaveySkate so look who gives a fuck if popular music sucks? look for shit. Dont expect it to be handed to you. Check out the underground. Tons of great bands.

  • @SludgePunkGrunge i don't have a problem finding good music, i just wish that i wouldn't here shit music everywhere i go

  • @DaveySkate I hear ya there. It is hard to avoid the shit when everywhere you go there is a radio playing popular shit haha. When I worked as a manager in retail I would turn the radio off for my shift and put in my cds or my ipod.

  • Awesome to see a show back when it was still SP- before Billy got his panties in a bunch.

  • i played on that stage:)

  • Siamese Dream was the first actual Cd I bought, after I bought my first portable cd player in high school. This was an epic album. Musically the 90's were a great time to grow up. I'm proud to have lived through it.

  • Easy to forget that before all the Mellon Collie-and-afterwards pantomime and silliness, they were a fucking tight, live band with a supremely talented frontman bursting with energy (see here, where he looks like he's going to explode with joy) and licks.

  • this band is so fucking good!

  • This is great......

  • come on kids lets rock.

  • I'm glad then when I'm an old man, I'll go to the barber shop and I'll hear this playing on some 'Oldies' station.

  • Excellent version of my favorite Pumpkins song. This is when they were great!

  • shinedown is good but i think lately they kinda have been forced to sell out and sound generic probably by the record company haha oh our decaying culture i wish we could live in an alternate reality in which everyone isnt an asshole/idiot and people with talent and intelligence are popular and mainstream and people who listen to kesha and shit who say things like "legit" or "trying to party" if you will are considered the strange outsiders matter of fact just get rid of them all together

  • It makes me so happy to see him smile..

  • billy corgan + kurt cobain = GOD

  • Smashing Pumpkins Redefined Music <3 XD GO SP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Saw SP recently in Brisbane, Australia. This vid reminds me he's been playing these songs for some 20 years with the same enthusiasm and energy. Go Billy!

  • ah man that was back in the heyday of alternative and grunge... shit. those were the days,

  • dude, kick-ass song, incredible performance, excellent crowd, brilliant billy, intelligent james, outstanding jimmy, sexy, cute and important d'arcy... man, what a show and what a band!!

    SMASHING PUMPKINS!!!

  • To all those who keep saying that music is dead.... i will say this: In the year 2030 we will look back and say,'' Wow the 2010's were a great era of music''... just the same way we talk about the 70's,80's & 90's at the moment.....A music revolution is coming... I can feel it....

  • @Cryptorchild92 i dunno man, i can't think of any contemporary "mainstream" rock acts that i see having that kinda lasting power. But i agree, a revolution is sorely overdue....but i'm looking forward to it

  • @Cryptorchild92 It's easier to see the wave after breaks.

  • @Cryptorchild92 lol i dont think so.when did bubblegum pop ever been seen as innovative or fresh?my bad, 14 yr old girls always find it awesome

  • @magzcjordan Read the comment properly mate, The 2000's sucked now the 2010's that is, 2011-2020 will be regarded as a great music era....2010 is still sucking in terms of mainstream music....So the revolutions gotta come soon, and it hopefully will from 2011....

  • i've got the snl verion of this on my channel if anyones interested, soz this kinda shameless self promotion usually gets spammed - just trying to spread the music of the glorious SP!

  • I love fat nosed D'arcy. She's such a cutie pie. Also, Billy seems amped and James has really cool hair.

  • Back when the pumpkins were good

  • This solo rocks.

  • Loving the ability to hear the bass on this...

  • @Ritchieeeeeeeee yeah, I love the bass specialy in this song of the pumpkins, and D'arcy BTW is really cute. Just saying.

  • what does he say after "are you bored?"

  • @MrWaddlesgee3 "cause we'll stop"

  • dude billys so great in this vid

  • que buen temaaa!!!! amo the smahsing pumpkins!!! POR SIEMPRE!

  • If you were a teen growing up in the early-mid 90's, this band was the representation of your life. The music, the culture, the message, everything...

  • best alternative guitar solo .

  • isn't billy like, hell depressed these days or something?

  • i dont know if he still was at this point. but i know hes said when he wrote "today" it was a day where he was contemplating suicide

  • james,darcy, jimmy

  • billy kills it

  • i was at this concert, awesome, i was just out of hs

  • i was there

  • This band kicked ass in their prime with D'arcy, James and Jimmy.

  • Pierre Duran - Swervedriver is a great band, I've got all their records. Seeing them with SP in their prime must of been an incredible show.

  • one of the best rock songs ever

  • dude ive never seen corgan so happy

  • Anyone know the effect he uses on the solo?

  • i believe it's an ehx microsynth, at least that's what he used on the album

  • thanks

  • think it's an octaver

  • flanged

  • I saw them in '93 in Montreal, at the Metropolis. Swervedriver opened for them. Hands down, one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Thank you so much for posting this video.

  • smashing pumpkins rocked harder than they could rock! they unleashed it and held on for the ride! fav band ever!

  • Man, that was a great time. Watching this makes me a little misty. This is hands-down my favorite Pumpkins song.

  • The only thing I hate about this song is how easy he plays it

  • We've heard very few good songs since the smashing pumkins I think

  • This is epic. The Pumpkins were like none other in the 90's.

  • this song gave me a tooth ache

  • timeless...and at their peak!!!

  • ...you dont see music like this anymore...

  • dude... they sure know how to rock out! love em !

  • The bassist is really pretty

  • Back then she was. She really isn't any more. Funnily enough the current bassist Ginger Reyes is pretty though.

  • And she wore a skirt live...most times...so that counts for sumpin

  • The 90's had sooo much great music. This last decade has been crap. Not so memorable stuff.

  • don't feel so bad, most of the ninties were just as crappy. only the very beginning was good

  • No ones feeling bad.

  • I've been saying for a long time that the alt-rock movement of the early and mid 90's was the last great era of music. There are some great bands and artists today but they aren't the prominent radio and influential artistic force that bands like the Pumpkins were 15 years ago. It may not ever be like that again, but at least we've got music like this to remind us of what we had - and what we had was incredible.

  • I couldn't agree with you more man. That was the last great era of music. Unfortunately I was too young to remember alot of it. I just watch these videos and imagine what it must have been like.

  • @emmbee Dude, this happened in the 80s and we got it over it fine. People are gonna get sick of the crap on the radio and want man made music again. Radio is dead, MTV is dead. the internet lives. Music will be back soon.

  • @emmbee muse is one tho

  • @emmbee Fuck yeah,im happy to have grown up in an era with bands such as Nirvana, chilli peppers, pearl jam, pumkins, tool etc

  • @emmbee the truth is.. music hasnt stopped being awesome.. ppl havent even stopped making good music.. if you want to blame someone blame the record companies who are only signing certain artists according to whats hot atm or at w.e year.. until someone that plays awesome alt rock comes out and happens to get signed, then we'd see more of it again if they are popular and sell lots of records, simple as that.. (btw im sure you know this, but im commenting for everyone) peace

  • @emmbee I completely agree with you. There are definitely some great bands around today, but they don't impact popular culture in the same way that 90's bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, RHCP, etc. did. Nowadays, in order to find great music, you really have to put forth some effort; back in the early to mid 90's, all you had to do was listen to FM radio or watch MTV (remember when MTV actually played music?). I just pray we'll see another musical explosion like that again.

  • @emmbee remeber when alt-rock started in the 80's people knew about it but it was underground in the 90's it became the major musical force in the 2000s it moved back to its 80's spot an in the 2010's i think it'll probably go back to it's 90's spot (especially cause of arcade fire winning the biggest grammy) so it's just a cycle really besides, every decade has crappy pop artists and that's what bands like the smashing pumpkins were made for to kill repetitive pop music

  • @Foo3112 You have to remember that the 90's ALSO had crappy music. Or, do we even want to bring up Haddaway, Dr Alban, Ace Of Base and Roxette? he eh, just a thought.

  • @Foo3112 there's been a few good bands, don't knock it all out what about bands like, chevelle,shinedown-early years,10 years, seether, to me those bands are all good

  • @TheRandomvidstv True but bands like 10 Years and Shinedown will be forgotten within the next 3-5 years. Most people who read this probably already forgor about 10 years. Seethers okay though but i liked them waaay more when they were called Nirvana. The winner from your list is Chevelle who I remember seeing them opened up for Incubus back in 1999. Fun times...

  • @Foo3112 10 years might but shinedown won't be forgotten by rock fans maybe my mainstream media, but shinedown's sound was very unique on their first two albums, listen to the song fly from the inside from them that song's pretty unforgettable

  • @Foo3112 specially for justin bieber and disney singers

  • @Foo3112 dude if you looked around you'd find the 2000's had some extremely memorable stuff

  • @colpetne "If I looked Around" - How about ...I lived through them. 90's was and still is untouchable. The 2000's were a joke compared to the 90's.. That is if you like bands like Default and The Calling?

  • this is real. this is creation. not the 'i'm going to make words rhyme and rip off a classic' shiite they make now. creation died sometime in the last decade. if anyone can deny me with an example, i really, really would like to hear it.

  • totally agree brother but we can't forget Rush's dcade they're a great band as well and Geddy Lee is a great bassist

  • DAMN!!! they rock out so hard!!! its sweet as, wish i was there!!!

  • i know that are fxckin awesome!!

  • I was there. This is when they were good. First 4 albums were all they were worth before they jumped the shark.

But this night, this night was a great one in the early 90's Chicago music scene

  • Ah, this is one of my top 5 favourite songs - I would have loved to have been there, or old enough to appreciate it at the time - too bad I wasn't born until 1989. Music was so much better in the 90's.

  • I was there, and fainted at some point, Billy was nice enough to stop the show and get me some water...i always remember that!! It was a great show! I wasn't even able to legally drink then wow!!

  • i love billy.

this was the first song I ever heard and i fell in love with them.

wish I could have been there to see them..except I was 1 years old then

  • lol i wasnt even born and this is one of my faves

  • Sorry you missed out on the Pumpkins in their prim. They are still good and I think Billy still got more talent then most bands from that era. I saw them at the Palms last Nov for the 3rd time. I guess it's up to young people like yourself to bring the music back to this dead culture in the US. Peace and love.

  • Fucking amazing!!!!!

  • there's a reason Jimmy always wears long sleeve shirts.

  • Track marks I assume?

  • cuz he is so awesome that if he didn't then people would not be safe

    supply and demand

    SP forever

  • that was there best live performance eva

  • woahh darcy was looking fuckin fine here!its anybodys guess why this version of cherub rock wasnt on vieuphoria!

  • I wish they'd play this song at this tempo these days. It sounds better at this speed than when its sped right up

  • LET ME OOOOOOOUUUUUUUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad had the Beatles & Led Zep, I had the Pumpkins and Nirvana. Good deal!

  • Incredible performance. Darcy looks great. Superb solo, solid drums, everything comes together perfect.

  • maaaaaaan that shirt is cool

  • billy corgan is an idol and a reat artist....smashing pumpkins were a great band, and gave a enormous contribute to tme '90s music....we miss you

  • I was five years old...damn it, why couldn't I have been born earlier.

  • I wasn't even born yet, man. I missed out.

  • The early to mid 90s had some of the best concerts ever. Plus, they were cheaper. I saw the Pumpkins in 1996 for under $30.

  • Did Billy write all the big hits? My favorite is Soma..you need to listen to it - it is great live also..but listen to the Studio version of the Soma Guitar solo..you will have an orgasm.

  • Dude it had an orgasm with that song!!,i love it it's been one of my favorites since i started listening to smashing pumpkins.

When i listen to that song i feel like in a dream like if i was flying....no need for drugs just give me the smashing pumpkins lol

  • I wish the masses still appreciated good music.

I wish times were still like this

    SP FOREVER_

  • This is a picture of a band at its pinnacle. Great all-around performance. I love the scream of joy Billy gives before absolutely murdering his guitar solo.

  • I wish I wasn't born in '93. I would of died to see this live.

    SP ftw!

  • Mate, I couldn't agree more, but then think of it this way, if you were, say 15 y.o. at the time of the concert, now you would be in your thirties already. Be happy that you're "just" 15.

Atleast that's what I always say to myself when I see these really kickass vids of band performing way before I was born...

    Peace.

  • I saw em in 93. I was 13. They blew me away. Freaking amazing. They were better than a lot of bands are today.

  • i love this band!

  • i like how he calmly says....common kids lets rock

  • James is Always like that, oh the memories.

  • This is as good as it gets! what a trip down memory lane.

But now listen to the pumpkins...just not the same.

  • Cmon dudes lets rock

  • Comment removed

  • OMG this is so F*CKING GOOD

  • ***** This video is the epitome of rock at its height in the early 90s. It doesn't get any better!

  • SHOW ME BETTER live performance on youtube..you won't..cuz this is the best here :)

  • Have you seen their live acoustic performance of this song on MTV Europe? I think it's incredible, but that's just me.

  • Probably in my personal top 5 favorite songs.

  • i was at dis show, went to grade/high school wif da owners son at the time.

  • classic lineup!

  • Cool performance!

  • Those were the days

  • too bad I was too young to live them... I was born on '88

  • oh man this is so cool. cherub rock was a new song and they were playing it just right.

  • remembers this show back in 1993 in iowa city at a club called "GABES"..had a blast hanging on the rafters and being in the pit..those were the days!!

  • i like this one but it seems that lots of times billy rushes the song

  • 1993, the year I was born!

    I wish I was 15 in the 90s!

  • haha same here, going to this concert and many other 90s bands would have been amazing!

  • It was a pretty cool time to be a teenager looking back. But back then I never really thought of it.

  • lol their so young in this video!! billy is such a hunch lol

  • '93 was tight, that was when 'Siamese Dream' dropped.. In my opinion, the best rock album of the 90s..

  • It's fun to watch Billy when he's still excited about the song.

  • fuck!!!!!

  • this song fucking kicks ass stop fighting about it..in the end we all agree that they rule don't we?

  • Damn I love this one, great song .. great vid

  • XD you guys crack me up fightin on youtube n stuff

    SMASHING PUMPKINS ARE ROCK GODS

  • shut the fuck up pussy

  • yes they are

  • you offended me ,asshole, the pumpkins have a hell of a lot more than this... this is just the tip of the iceberg

  • this is the saddest arguement i have ever read on youtube

  • shut the fuck up

  • Corgan rocks. I like their live stuff because he has such passion about what he's singing, esp in the earlier stuff.

  • unbelieveable how much soul hes putting into that performance

  • stay cool, and be somebody's fool this year

    Who wants honey?

  • are you on your period bro? chill out

  • Hey dumass thats part of the lyrics search it up

Way to make yourself look even dumber than originally dipshit.
