  • R.I.P. Steve

  • our hero with great ideas left us :(

  • Boom!

  • I like lion :P

  • RIP Steve Jobs.

  • @funnybee2 o rly?

  • If you didn't know, Longhorn is actually vista :P

  • smb programs LOL

  • I miss Tiger

  • Steve talks to Spotlight like we do Siri...

  • so sad to hear steve is dead.

  • boom...

  • Mac OS X Tiger is the beste OS Apple ever made !

  • @DirtyQRap i liked mac os 1 mac os x cheetah tiger and leopard

  • @DirtyQRap No, SL is the best. Tiger is the second best.

Lion is the third with Leopard.

    All the rest, fuck up!

  • Still use Tiger on my G4 server

  • I have a MacBook Pro running Lion 10.7 and an iBook G4 running Tiger 10.4.11, and Tiger is the best O/S to run on a PowerPC based Mac. I like Leopard but It's just not PowerPC optimized. (I think Tiger is even a little faster than Lion)

  • Windows > Mac OS X

  • @alexnzxVersion2 Macs can have both Windows and Mac OSX

  • @Lshs2013 I know that and that is a great advantage I'm just saying i think overall Windows Operating Systems are better than Mac OS's but it is close

  • @alexnzxVersion2 you are crazy man windows sucks!!!

  • @alexnzxVersion2 Great job elaborating.

  • @suggsinfo thanks

  • Boom!

  • that was then and now lion is the best

  • He sounds hopped up on caffeine or something.

  • Boom. they'll pop up.

  • "Spotlight, it's amazing !"

Now, we are Auto Save, full screen, spotlight etc...

  • Which one is the one that runs Mac Classic?

  • Thanks, but I have Lion. :)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Spotlight.

    Super fast!

    Just like iTunes.

  • I want my leopard keynote!! And Jobs to do Snow leopard!

  • Comment removed

  • Okay, was Steve SCARED?!?!?!?! Cause I have NEVER seen him talk like this!!!!

  • @guycody123 yeah windows 7 in 2009, but this was 2004 with Tiger.

  • @guycody123 Tiger is like 6 years old...

  • cannot wait till lion :)

  • @guycody123 u do know this was years ago right?

that means mac "already has" file search

and windows "just got" file search

and btw that idea wasnt copied and put into windows during 7, it was originally stolen for vista.

    research before posting stupid things?

    kthnxbye

  • Lol @ the iTunes icon

  • wallpaper = desktop picture, VERY BIG OWN.

  • do you get some sort of text app, word-like app in tiger?

  • @skrikon yes, text edit.

  • copied from Longhorn!

  • proseseez! it how he says processes! lol

  • When did he do this??

  • @d1995a3 i think around 2005

  • People love Jobs... and that's because he makes the best OS ever

  • boom boom pow

  • "anything you can do (Microsoft) I can do better (Apple)"

  • boom

  • Gonna Love the incoming Lion OS

  • omfg i love spotlight i wud say its pretty much the best feature ever!!!!!

  • Haven`t heard anything more annoying than this constantly repeated "boom".

  • @zyxel56k search up a video of steve balmer presenting windows stuff:P he screams and jumps around the stage, gets sweaty too

    i prefer boom

(btw not sayin ur a pc person)

  • @iaintalks I love macs, but I don't have that much money to buy one, even the cheapest one.

Steve Jobs presents his company products like nobody else there on the tech market, but nobody is perfect . I didn't tried to offend mac fans by my previous comment.

It's just that small "boom" ruined my overall imression...

PS: I definitely do not admire Steve Balmer or Linus Torvalds.

  • @zyxel56k no big deal, and the only reason i got my white macbook(the cheapest one) was because my dad paid $400 on top of my $600

i paid him back though so its all good

  • @iaintalks the macbook air is also $999!

  • "Boom" and "Boom" oh anyway lets just "Boom"

  • I still love Tiger... I think it was the fastest version of OS X. The boot up time is insane.

  • @Danchr23

Yeah thats what i miss with Snow Leopard.

Snow Leopard's time to shut down is FAST but the boot time is slow.

  • I have this running on an old iBook, there's just something fantastic about Tiger. It's still (mostly) modern, but it has that "classic OS X" look to it.

  • "The other guy's have been talking about it, we've been doing it."

One of the best lines I've ever heard.

    Steve Jobs FTW!

  • I think Tiger was the best OS X version. I have Snow Leopard now and I miss the blue color scheme and Tiger is simpler. If I could run it on my Intel Mini I might dual boot it. 2GB of RAM would be FAST!

  • @bagintheback

    You can dual boot!

Infact did you know that ALL of OSX versions are actualy compiled for intel!

They did that in secret for YEARS.

  • I definitely prefer snow leopard but i loved tiger's blue apple and spotlight, basically i prefer the whole title bar better.

  • Tiger was one of the best of os x.

  • So sad that Microsoft just copied spotlight but just did this great thing putting the same thing on the lower right hand side. I hate you Microsoft.

  • @tutorialconr Not really copied, as Jobs says, MS had been talking about it for years so the idea was nothing new to them but they really messed it up. Their current "solution" is rendered frustratingly bad because of their primitive file system NTFS and the compromise to create indexes over searches is worthless, it's no better than a regular old crawl search. I really don't understand why MS are letting their WinFS project die, it should be their no. 1 priority!

  • @MLennholm WINFS as in Windows File System ?

  • @tutorialconr Actually,as in "Windows Future Storage". It's been in development for 10 years and was supposed to replace NTFS in Vista, and then everyone was hoping it would be in Win 7, but MS seems to think they have better things to do, and I can't understand why, imo, WinFS is a much needed improvement to Windows.

  • @MLennholm Yeah , Windows is rather inferior right now if you compare it with mac in you know , Innovative stuff. Microsoft is somewhat like IBM now :\

  • Snow Leopard! :D

Although all the mac OS are awesome and much better than shitty windows! =)

  • @intelvistaw nope

  • copycats .... no pun intended

  • i prefer Snow Leopard over Tiger but I think Tiger had better style, more color, etc.

  • @Toshiro7892

I agree Tiger looked better imo...

  • The WiFi search doesnt show up in Leopard. Just tried it!

  • Longhorn! HAHA!

  • hes talking really fast in this keynote

  • he said that he had little time to introduce everything he needed too.

  • lol the boom thing is funny

  • Booom!!!

  • "Boom...they'll pop up" lolz

  • i dont like the Mac tiger dock, but its okay.. but i have mac snow leopard now :D

  • In my opinion, Mac OS X Tiger is still Apple's best OS to date -- it's so fast and rock-solid, I so loved using it! (Can't use it any longer because I sold my old mac..)

  • why don't you install it on a new intel based macintosh? o.O

  • Because Tiger doesn't have the necessary drivers to work properly on a new mac.

  • @goddesfreackz Does that opinion still stand with Snow Leopard out now?

  • I don't know. Lol.

Snow Leopard is a good operating system (as was Leopard), but there is something about Tiger that I really like -- can't say what though... It might just be the fact that Tiger was the first Mac OS I used.

  • Maybe because everything up until Tiger sucked, lol. Really though, 10.0, 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 were all horribly buggy, at least when I used them.

  • 10.3 corrected alot of the bugs OS X had, but like you said, it was buggy

  • mm, maybe because tiger can change theme easier because it has an apps from unsanity call shapeshifter, and because for me, the booting time is faster?

  • I think it's because I switched from Windows XP to OS X Tiger (without knowing anything about OS X -- and yet having no issue with it AT ALL).

And omg: Tiger's booting time is insane: 18 seconds on my (former) white MacBook!

  • next os: liger

    snowleopard+tiger=:)

  • Lol "And whatever that is"

  • when did this happen what year

  • The presentation is from WWDC - June 2004

  • 2003/2004 i think :)

  • I love my Tiger OS!

  • @droadtrip that crap doesnt work anymore

  • Huh, I thought Snow Leopard his new amazing feature was the 64-bit usage...

    Can someone clarify this?

I'm no Apple hater, just asking!

  • No, it came much earlear when Snow Leopard. You can see it's in the Tiger. But in Tiger and Leopard it's universal (you can use 32 and 64 bits applications) (In Windows for example you can use only one type of programs).

Snow Leopard is 64 bits, so the are focusing for maximum usage of what in new OS. (correnct me if I am wrong)

  • Tiger was mainly 32bit but could handle 64 bit.

    Same goes for Leopard.

Snow Leopard is fully 64 bit but can handle 32 bit apps, etc.

  • Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know, Snow Leopard boots into 32 bit kernel by default so it is not "fully" 64 bit. However, It does run 64 bit apps natively.

To get the "full" 64 bit support you need to have one of the supported systems which can manually boot into 64 bit kernel.

  • You're right! It's too bad that only newer machines will be able to do that.

  • thanks a lot for posting

  • im glad i went to mac in leopard i dont like the look of tiger

  • Google "WWDC 2007 Keynote Address".

  • Thank you so much for this vid!!

  • What's with the themed Menubar?

Isn't that a shapeshifter theme? lol

  • Actually, it looked pretty nice like this!

  • Just odd how they'd use an unofficial theme in the official Keynote.

  • Its not a theme, it was probably a change in the interface which was removed before the final release of Tiger

  • its a beta

  • Remember how Leopard looked circa WWDC 2006? Remember what Mac OS X originally looked like back in 2000?

Tiger, like all the other Mac OS X releases, changed over time during the beta process.

  • yeah... i like tiger/panther... still gotta try beta of mac osx 10.0, but im pretty sure it's good!

  • when was this???

  • At WWDC 2004.

  • tiger was at wwdc 2005 panther was wwdc 2004

  • Lol, you're wrong. Panther was released at october the 24th, in 2003. The Tiger introduction was definitely at WWDC 2004.

  • cool thanks for the upload
