  • Veni, veni, me sequere fida Abra amata, Sponso orbata. Turtur gemo ac spiro in te.

Diræ sortis tu socia confida Debellata Sorte ingrata, Sociam laetæ habebis me.

  • one of the most beautiful arias...

  • soprano chalumeau (now called sopranino, because its size is the one of a sopranino recorder) - how great to hear this rare instrument!! thank you!!

  • The chamumeau is charming, but is the soprano's diction correct?

  • @swarmnet you mean of the latin? yes, very (even if it should be fidA and not fidAE and confidA and not confidAE, but I wonder if they used a variation of the text, it seems to deliberate to me to be a simple pronunciation mistake). Why?

  • @perles75 yes, i'm irked by the diction because in the Vivaldi Edition, it's fidA not fidAE....

  • Vivaldi at his best :)

  • The charming solo wind instrument is a chalumeau, a recorder type instrument with a mouthpiece shaped like that of a clarinet.

    Lovely performance.
