Hey man I just bought a 11 drz400sm and im thinking about buying the 440cc kit but im worried about it becoming unreliable and I was wondering if yours is still reliable as it was when you had it stock
Nice looking bike. I saw your other videos and never saw the third gear power wheelies without clutching like you said it does. In fact all I saw was straight flat acceleration with zero wheelies. My XR400 power wheelies through fourth gear no clutching, but it definitely has much less mid and top end hp than your bored DRZ. I'd love to see se decent wheelies.
@kpertchik The gearing on your XR400 will be vastly different and aid with power wheelies and feel better for the low end torque as you pointed out. Karl actually uses a smaller back sprocket as standard, and 17" road wheels, instead of the presumably off road tyres on yours.
I have seen guys on DRZ's power wheelie in fourth, but they have gearing that restricts the top end, which Karl has gone the other way with his gearing.
I love how you put things karl oh I got a damper as well which helps to keep the thing under control hahaha love it and loving the bike dude I have seen the most recent vids and wow awesome dude I will have to get some vids of my wrx on here take care
hi nice vids helped a lot im lookin to buy a bore kit for my sm same as yours from ebay wot did u mean by doggie ebay seller wot happed if u dont mind ?thanks
@fragmasterkarl how much money have you put in to the bike to get it to this point ? i think im going to get another drz 400sm but keep it sm lol i love your bike no homo lol much respect
@ThaBR33D well the yoshimura kit is not just a big bore it's a stroker kit.. So your be replacing the crank to which give you more cc's . Mine is just a big bore.. Reason went Athena is it's the best brand and has better cooling over another kits.. But the cylinder works big bore kit is just as good.. :-)
@MrKaiserRolls yer its the same as the drz e models used in 2002 ish years.. But brand new of course.. Got it from us in the end mate :-).. When I get all my jetting right first running very rich at the moment :-/
you invest a lot of money in that bike....why don't you save it until you have enough for an Husaberg or an ktm 690 smc? Do you love Suzuki DRZ 400 SM so much?
@Eltern10 I guess it's cause they require alot more mainteance than the DRZ, you can get a DRZ to 50-60 bhp, and still have alot less maintenance requirements than the race tuned bikes like the KTM'S, Husa's, Huskies etc. ^^
@Sonaris100 not really mate... still should change the oil every 500 - 800 miles with this kit on, less if you ride like a maniac! It's certainly no longer a 3K service commuter once you start messing with the engine. Personally I own a DRZ and will be selling it for a Husky 510SMR or something... more power to people who love the DRZ enough to make it into a power house :-) I just haven't got the cash or the patience for such things.
@Crana Hehehe, cool stuff Crana......your from same forum as me right?? yammy one? i recognized ur name a while ago hehe :P didn't think you would be selling the DRZ, sell it to me :D
@Sonaris100 i dont think i am actually, ive been on the line about it but I can't find a husky so I will most likely keep the DRZ until next year or something... aye im on the dtr125 forum, drzuk, bcf etc :P
@Crana Good to hear :) i just scanned the bay and saw a 510 smr thats only done 100 miles but it is 3.2 grand, probably make an offer of 3 grand and get it, no idea if thats reasonable for one though?
@Eltern10 What sonaris said :-).. I like to know ifi click the start button it will start :-).. Unluck alot ktms... Husabergs out there.. Seen the problems rather not have the issues..
Moneys not my issue if I wanted a 690 or something I cound buy :-)... Maybe get one for weekend toy one day but the drz ticks all my boxes :-)
Oh ok....I have also a motorbike, a derbi drd racing 50 because I am not old enough for to drive with faster bikes...I really love it, I have also tuned a lot and instead of 45 kmh it runs 95kmh with excellent acceleration, but I have to take care that police don't get me because with 17 I am not allowed to drive faster than 45 xD
very nice drz!!!
