  • Imagine this in a capped shoe.

  • i blinked and missed the kick

  • and if you strike the WRONG way with your foot/ankle bent in this position as opposed to a karate front kick with the sole of your foot, here hitting with the instep, you BETTER make sure of your target, cause it will be pretty useless otherwise and likely cause a sprain or tow break/sprain if landed in stomach or chest by mistake

  • @bluesintheblood Somewhat true, but these guys are wearing boots. High, rigid, military style boots to be precise. Those are engineered to protect your ankles.

That's a whole different ballgame from using bare feet.

  • ka she mi re qing jiao xiao lin she

  • @tommymonsternz tell that to vitor belfort

  • good way to break your toes

  • @kiba2447 exactly, I thought a snap kick was when you kick into someones stomach with your hamstring extended and your toes pulled back and the surface of the heel is kept flat.

  • @kiba2447 you dont kick with your toes dumb ass

  • @krypekeeper the way he's kicking the first thing to hit the target are his toes, which will break if he doesn't have shoes on. retard.

  • @tommymonsternz

Legs have more muscles, kicks are generally much stronger than punches.

  • Rear leg front kick, not a front snap kick.

  • Chuck lidell can throw PUNCHES with 1200 pounds of force.

  • @moniker127 - According to fight science:

    - Cain Velasquez's heart rate maxes out at 167 BPM, very low, on par with elite endurance athletes

    - Cain Velasquez's punch registers at 2230 lbs of force, a harder punch than any boxer ever measured in the Sport Science lab

    - Cain Velasquez's takedown generates 5000 watts of power in his hips and 2700 lbs of force, on par with NFL defensive pro Dwight Freeney

    Cain is a wrecking machine.

  • @iApna

Thats sweet, but what does that have to do with anything?

  • @iApna - You mentioned Chuck and I just gave another comparison thats all.

  • One of my favorite kicks

  • This is not a front snap kick. This is an upward kick. A front snap kick goes straight forward and hits with the ball of the foot (toes curl back) in a snapping motion, hence the name. It can be low or middle but not high. It goes straight forward. If you want to use it for a high target then you must jump. Boots or barefoot, its a different kick. Sorry.

  • @droidsURlooking4 ur exactly right

  • what if my opponent is taller than me?

obviously this tactic only works on people who are either shorter or the same height as youself.

  • @ChineseMartialArts88 then you choose a different move on that opponent. simple lol

  • @ChineseMartialArts88 grow, jump, or punch him in the balls

  • lol this is the easiest kick ever made and these guys make it look hard :P

  • is it just me or do these "factoids" seem a little stretched?

  • any decent fighter would block this one easily, come with a low kick to the leg right away, and good-bye kung-fu. i think this is ineffective

  • i trained this kick once in KAPAP, but the kick was lowered to aim for the groin instead. much more effective that way.

  • Chuck Norris + Roundhouse Kick = FUCK YEA

  • nae offence but if it was just for self defence I'd just punt them in the nuts with that kick

  • I dont know what some of the people here are talking about.

its an increadebly usefull and easy to perform kick.

who can take that on the chin? its like an uppercut from hell, and you can make it come out of nowhere by making contact with your arms first.

plus you can stay very balanced.

  • The 3D explanation is good enough for everage ppl 2 understand...

But seems like this 2 white guys kicks is soooooooo slow to 40mph

  • i wanna learn plice kung fu so so badass. id be able to tell people that i new police kung fu

  • @moltenthoughts as if kung fu couldn't be any more fairy looking.

  • You want to kick with the ball of your foot though... smaller surface area = more pain.

  • Would this kick work in mma? I've been told to never kick with toes or top of the foot as it could cause myself an injury.

  • It would be unwise to do this kick with anything less thick than a pair of boots.

  • Yea, thats's what I thought.

  • MMA is for pussy fighters that are too weak to master the real art.

  • What a ridiculous claim to make

  • as I choke you out, and squeeze the air out of your lungs.

  • That's total bullshit, because countless mixed martial artists are blackbelts in numerous different martial arts styles.

  • It works for mma only when you aim higher right below the neck so you catch them in the mouth. When you kick with the bottom of your feet, you don't have to worry about injury, even when its the balls of your feet. Like a tepe from muai thai.

  • only if you see an opening to do this

  • aww... since this kick is aiming for the throat/chin, it will be quite easy to evade...

  • not if your kick with the quick

  • i mean, not if the kick is quick. hahaha

  • If you use your toes, then you're at great risk of breaking them upon contact

  • yeah, you have to use the balls of your foot

  • YOU'RE SO COOL!

  • Exactly... because those guys are wearing military boots lol. If I had a real hard head, I would learn to hit people with it... but then of course someone like you would say "Oh, that only works if you have a real hard head" The point here is that you have to use everything you can to your advantage in combat.

  • Someone said this is a rear leg front kick, not a front snap kick. Actually, both terms are correct. Definitely a rear leg kick, but regardless of which leg used, it's called a front snap kick because of the direction you're kicking - just like side kick is to the side and back kick...you get the idea. There's a front snap kick(mae geri keage), where you kick upward, then the front thrust kick (mae geri kekomi) where you kick in or stomp.

  • hurts when u make contact though

  • any of the moves are going to hurt on this show... but this one would stink since it could cut your windpipe.

  • you can also use your heel not just your toes

  • actually they say to use the top of your foot in kung fu but in karate they say the ball of your feet if you use your heel your going to get off balance a bit and there wont be alot of power. Theres a differnt move where you use your heel thats stronger then this

  • You can use the top of your foot if you`re wearing a shoe, but if you`re on your bare feet you should use the "ball bone" on the foot, or else you`ll hurt your toe.

  • imagine with a steeltoe boot *gasp* you would break their jaw

  • meh this kick only good when u got shoes on

  • this isnt a front snap kick, its a lighting kick

  • I'm sure that there are different names to one same move. Just like some one calling a roundhouse kick the hook kick.

  • This is a rear leg front kick, not a front snap kick.

  • i am not a karate guy,but as i understand it a front kick, delivers power through the ball of the foot, with the toes pulled back, this is more like kin geri, but at a high level.i would not do it without shoes!,dont know what style it is but the nearest i seen is from savate, and they wear shoes/boots.regards

  • what snap kicks to the thorat wtf they are better for the stomach or chest

  • u obviously dont know what ur talkin about

  • dude many martial artists prefer snap kicks to the stomach since it is closer to the foot and a high kick is easy to dodge and grab since all u have to do is bend back and grab it while low kicks are harder to grab

  • it all depends what style of fightin it is

it might not work in mma

but it sure works in k-1 or kyokushin

besides the neck has much less protection than the stomach and chest

  • true but the neck is a smaller surface area and a choke or puch will be almost just as effective and easier to do

  • Well not really say for instuance u punch a guy in the thorat then a nother guy in the chest then a nother guy in the stomac who is gunna be in more pain and on the ground haveing trouble breathing

  • thats a punch but i see your point throat strikes are more deadly but kicks that high are just to risky on the street

  • But it also depends who ur fighting and if u got the speed n the kick yeah it is risky at times but if u snap it out really fast it does dammage I mean end the fight it all depends on ur fighting experance and the other guys experance

  • yeah i think you pretty much summed it up there your right it depends on your experience and the other guys experience

  • high kicks r not usually used as an opener like u kick sum1 in the stomach they feel the pain n is stunned for a few second in that few second is more than enough for you to kick em in the throat

  • the fat dude like you who is so unfit they cant climb up stairs fucken nerd

  • LoLoLoL

  • i gotta test it
