Guys im not a thumbs up whore, but it would be an awesome idea if the ufc did this for every main card fight, it would be so kool to know how much your favourite fighter has cut and how much they actually weigh on the night of the fight! I bet if your a hardcore ufc fan like myself then you will also want to know, if this gets enough thumbs up then they might decide to do it and cut it into into danas vlog videos or make its own series, that would be awesome :D thanks guys!!
@13SKALLDAY he got down to 187 on the day of the weigh in but he couldn't feel his legs and the ufc doctor stepped in and made him rehydrate and told him if he didn't he could die! so yes he should be able to make weight but if someone told you that you might die if you continue what would you do?
@bsglifedotcom like i said im done talking to retarded bitches like you. i ignored ur first comment but u want to keep runnin ur mouth. arguing with dumbfucks like you is like yelling at a brick wall, its useless. go on and yap away, ive had girlfriends that yap and run their mouth less than u do, u loose cunt. imma try hard to make this my last reply.
@bsglifedotcom You still don't get it, no one cares that you don't like fighting smaller guys. If guys make weight, they will fight at that weight regardless of what your opinion is. So, on behalf of the entire world, can you stop being an annoying, whiny faggot. I'm done talking to your unintelligent, retarded ass, don't reply to me anymore, bitch.
@dmane4 hey...hey...hey..dmane its lil dick suckers like you that commented to me in the first place. your a lil bitch and always will be. you could a read my comment and kept your lame ass quiet. but no you wanted to talk to a real nigga. so on my behalf you sir can shut thee fuck up and suck it easy. yes this big brown dick i got..suck it easy.
@dmane4 oh yea lame boy.. ima have my fights on here in march so make sure you comment on those to you lil nerd ass guy... keep being a spectator ill be a playa..mafugga
i'm not trying to excuse aj not making weight but they shouldn't have dropped him! he was cutting weight got to within 1 pound of 186 and the ufc doctor told him to rehydrate as there was a chance he could die if he kept cutting! yeah he has moved up a weight but it is still his first time making 185 and he got it wrong! give him another chance! i know he failed twice before at 170 but give him another chance or just stick him in at 205 against jones as punishment!
@bsglifedotcom As far as I know you ain't shit and I want to keep it that way. I don't know you and I don't want to either. Also, you never mentioned you were a grappler, so you're wrong again. No one gives a fuck about what you "want". If a fighter can make weight than it's his right to fight at that weight. So stop your bitching and if you don't like it you can sit your whiny-ass out.
@dmane4 fighters can do what they want. and cornballs like u can enjoy every minute of it. but for me as a life long competitor i wanna beat and have wins over guys or teams that are my size or bigger. i get no thrill out of winning against smaller muthafuckas. so suck a dick and be easy you cupcake
on another note! this proves they are the toughest athletes on earth! they can fluctuate their weight 26 lbs in a single day , amazing to see Anthony @ over 211 lbs & VITOR @ 205lbs , I HOPE UFC DANA WHITE & LORENZO FeRTITA GIVE ANTHONY 1 more chance , he's 1 of their most exciting fighters & few i pay to watch, i wont be paying for a fight w a charlie breneman no offense the charlie, or others he's Ko'ed to oblivion, the kid comes to fight, he can fight @ 205lbs & he will be just fine, UFC !)
And everybody knows Vitor was 11 lbs over in the day before the official weigh-in, and he lost this 11 lbs in only 24 hours. He has commitment to UFC!
Vitor made a deal with Johnson and Dana to both fight for 205 lbs on day of fight, after Johson weigh in 197 lbs in the day before. Vitor was perfect, 205.6 and Johnson was up again this time 7 lbs over the 12 lbs over in the day before...lol
weigh ins should be at noon or morning day of the fight , they can still do the theatrics just the same , promote , press conference , lights & all just the weigh ins on the morning of the fight. it actually seems to waste lots of the production & enery the fighters have & days before they are all putting time & energy on these guys weight cut. WEIGH INS = DAY OF THE FIGHT!
Weight-cutting needs to be abolished. The point is to have people the same size fighting each other, and weight cutting makes that less likely, and is dangerous to fighter's heath. I wonder if we will see in the long run that weight-cutting-related health issues are what define the late lives of ex-UFC fighters. Weigh-ins should take place the day before, the day of, and as they enter the ring with various penalties for missing any of those weigh-in goals.
@leftyking500 Not all the time. Sometimes a smaller fighter struggles to keep weight on. Paquiao for example, has to eat and eat to fight at 147. He often comes in 2-3 pounds under to weight ins.
why no post press conference?? obviously there was one,but it's not up..?? ufc did have it up and took it straight back down,bj penn done very same..why did some thing happen..?? same with mma heat they dont have it either..??
yeah I never understood why they have to cut weight, just fight at YOUR weight, you just draining your body and all that training gone to waste, the human body is not supposed to go through a drastic change like that in like 24 hours LOL so dumb. Thats why Frankie Edgar never tires even with his speed and all, and he was able to recover from Maynards knockout punches so quickly, hes always 100 % for his fights
What the UFC needs to do is regulate their fighter's weights by using a 'UFC Scale' that is connected through the internet and used daily by the fighter. This scale should ensure that the fighter is always within say... 10-15 pounds of their weight class and if they go over, they need to either move up or do more cardio, simple.
And I'm not saying this purely because it's unfair to have a size advantage, It's also healthier and more humane for the fighters.
You've been waiting for an opportunity to use 'arbitrary' in a sentence, haven't you? I can tell because you're a moron.
If not over the internet, how else can they simultaneously, keep a track of all their fighters?
Arbitrary maybe to you, but to me on the other hand, having a record of 8-0 as an amateur... I'd prefer not having to bulk and cut weight for my fights. I'm 24, I wan't to lead a healthy life/career without having to risk my health 4 times a year.
@CCCChedo Throwing around "moron" already? I can tell you don't know how ironic that is, and you probably had to look up "arbitrary" in the dictionary. Yes, a 10-15 lb limit IS arbitrary because no reputable medical association can state what the limit should be -- only provide guidelines. You'd also be stripping all current UFC champs (who've never missed weight in the UFC) of their titles except for Edgar and JDS. Oh, and my amateur record is 9-0. Please tell me more about yourself!
Maybe you failed to realise that a camera would be incorporated and quite possibly running 24/7 to ensure that the fighter is not cheating (aimed at the scales and not invading privacy). And no, it wouldn't be expensive at all, not compared to how much the UFC is worth. Plus, it's a small price to pay to ensure health and fighter performances.
@CCCChedo No, it's just you who fails to realise how much some fighters have to travel during their training, how easy it is to manipulate internet data transfer, or how difficult it is to enforce such a rule with connection/power failures, especially in a less developed country like Brazil.
You make some valid points, I can't deny that, however, you're not addressing weight-cutting as an issue, whereas I am. It's terrible for the heart, especially repeated multiple times over a span of several years.
You get people like Benson Henderson who drops from 185-190 to fight at 155, doing so with relative ease, while other fighters struggle to cut 10 pounds.
It becomes a battle of who can cut better/smarter and with fewer ill-effects. In my opinion, that's cheap.
@CCCChedo I never intended to address weight cutting as an issue -- only your proposal as a horrible idea. Even if I were to offer a proposal, it would be something more realistic such as shifting the time of the weigh-ins or a larger purse penalty, but I'm not endorsing either of those at the moment.
Shifting weigh-ins closer to the fight would only mean that pussies like Johnson would have less time to rehydrate, and would cause them to be even more lethargic.
Horrible idea or not, there's got to be some form of official and mandatory, weekly weigh-ins to regulate fighter weights. I know you're speaking out of your arse in relation to you being an amateur, because if you've ever had to cut 12 pounds for a fight just to compete, you'd understand why this is 'an issue'.
@CCCChedo No, it's just you who fails to realise how much some fighters have to travel during their training, how easy it is to manipulate internet data transfer, or how difficult it is to enforce such a rule with connection/power failures, especially in a less developed country like Brazil.
Middle heavy gtfo .. Please no more weight classes this is going to turn into noxing with middle weight super middleweight jr middleweight fly middleweight and other shit
@HerrDalton Ah, I see your point. If that's the case, then MOST fighters would be fighting at MW-HW and well, that's where the tougher opponents lie lol.
LOL, unfortunately Fedor couldn't beat a 205 pounder (who often fights at MIDDLEWEIGHT) either. He's been reduced to fighting bums like Jeff Monson back in Russia...
Fedor sucks, but cunts like you won't stop talking about him. Does a win over Jeff Monson mean anything? NO, IT MEANS NOTHING. Let me know when Fedor's fat ass makes middleweight, otherwise, shut the fuck up.
@ipv4 Look man, Fedor is out of his prime. But I will stand by the fact that he has had an impressive resume over the years. He fought a lot of big names and was forever dominant in Pride.
MMA today is a whole different game. Fedor will always be my favorite fighter, but he's old.
Yea, he's old but don't you think he would still be able to destroy the likes of Stephan Struve,Brendan Schaub,Mike Russow,Travis Browne,Christian Morecraft,Mark Hunt,Rob Broughton,Ben Rothwell,Dave Herman,John-Olav Einemo,Chad Griggs,beltran,
@HerrDalton why does it matter?,, people over analyse everything.. if it wasnt for weight cutting you wouldnt have seen dan henderson vs anderson silva. or gsp vs bj penn or either of the brilliant frankie edgar vs gray maynard fights..
@HerrDalton LOL, That's just because that fat fuck is too lazy to lose weight, he should really be fighting at LHW, or if he was in shape he would be fighting at MW. But there isn't very many cans at those weight classes.
@UFCBrockLesnar1 i thought you were talking about johnson haha, i was like thats one yolked ass dude for 12lbs overweight, its a shock he ever weighed 170
@MALIRIPPA that was his first fight at 185, he was fighting at 170 before he beefed up and put on all that muscle, thats why he lost to vitor he wasnt used to burning that much energy just from moving
rumble johnson was supposed to be no more than 205 on fight day that was the stipulation the belfort camp demanded or the fight was going to be called off. i guess the belfort camp decided to fight anyway.
i guarantee dana will cut rumble johnson for failing to make weight on fight day after failing to make weight on weigh in day.
he couldn't make weight for WW 170.. so he moved to MW 185 .. to gain muscle and power fighting at a different weight class he took a steroid cycle (off season).which made him bigger and stronger. he says he got lazy and ballooned up to 230 ..ballooned my ass when u balloon u lose ur abs...
Wow Dana told him to be at 205 and no higher....he comes in at 211 and a half....what a dummy and I like him too, I like Rumble, but Vitor is my favorite fighter of all time, and it's just stupid on his part to be that off. You have to intelligently cut weight while training, not just cut 30 pounds the day before the fight......Congrats to Vitor.
211.6 pounds??? He clearly wasn't going to make 185, no one cuts almost 27 pounds over night, Johnson is a complete moron, he says he got lazy and ballooned up to 230? Well ur here fighting the biggest fight of ur life, at 185...and your weighing 211.6? I bet you if he moved up to 205, he'd manage to weigh in at 220 nd come in fight night weighing 235 nd still have some bullshit excuse for it. What a bitch
@GuitarFreako5 Weight cutting thru dehydratation and starvation. Some fighter go like 20-30 pounds , the much a fighter can cut depends on each individual ( Usually lean guys built with big limbs like AJ ou Jon Jones or AS can cut much more weight than people like Shogun who carrys around some obvious extra fat and is small for the weight division.). Obvously AJ came like 220-225 and couldnt cut to 185 , Vitor probably was 205-210 and thru crazy ass pain cut to the weight.
Rumble deserved to get cut. He's a Light Heavyweight who tries to shrink into a middle-weight or welter-weight before each fight so that he can be much more powerful and bigger than his opponents. That's fine if you can pull it off - but clearly (3 TIMES RUMBLE) he can't.
Frankie Edgar is a TRUE WARRIOR because he doesn't cut weight, fights guys much bigger than himself, and yet still wins and is a champion.
What's bad is after weighing in 11lbs over they tell Johnson fight night he has to weigh 205 and he can't even do that!!! 6lbs over on his second chance!!!! What a deutsche!!!
As much as I like rumble as a fighter and as a bloke, he needs to realise that making weight is his job. He may have been too ill to continue cutting or whatever the doctor said but seriously? Cut more before the last day! He moved up a weight class to stop this happening and it's his worst miss yet. I agree with who mentioned it before - fight at your natural weight. Health benefits, performance benefits and you won't be fined part of your purse for missing weight.
And this is what Anthony Johnson got for trying to cheat the system, choked out. You see how fast AJ gas'd in there? He looked out on his feet pretty darn quick after some grappling, he was in zombie mode trying to find air lol.
i think guys should stop being pussies and fight at their natural weight and quit cutting down. if you walk around at 215 you need to be fighting at either 205 or heavyweight. if you weigh 190 you need to be fighting middleweight. quit being a pussy . thats why i like frankie edgar he fights at his actual weight
@bsglifedotcom your arguement makes absolutely no sense. a fighters natural weight has little to do with what class he fights in. what are you trying to say? you are just trifflin.
@bsglifedotcom You are right on! Rumble Johnson needs to fight at 205. He walks around at 230, i can't imagine cutting all that weight and ruining your health.
@ramrod20042000 exactly im a competitive grappler myself i walk around at 208-212lbs and i still fight in the light heavyweight division which has a weight cut off of 205-209 depending on what tournament your in. i feel that if i'm gonna fight i wanna fight guys my size or bigger. i dont wanna grapple guys that i knw i'm bigger than. i just think thats the thinking and heart of a pussy. cutting 15 and 20bs just says your scared to fight guys your size or bigger.not to mention its not healthy
@seanscrivs i'm the idiot because i say a grown ass man shouldnt be affraid to fight someone his size or bigger.??? my point is this i respect a guy like frankie edgar that weights 160-165 soaking wet and fights guys that weigh 175-180. my opinion is you should have to cut no more than 10lbs fr the division you wanna fight in. any more than that tells me your scared to fight guys your size or bigger or that your not confident you can win. period. dick head
@bsglifedotcom you clearly dont know the mind of a fighter in the ufc. these are the toughest fighters in the world and they are not afraid of any man. that being said, it would be very dumb for a guy who weighs 205 to fight at 205 against a very high level wrestler who just cut from 230. he will get manhandled, they all know this which is why they all cut. it's not fear, it's intelligence, dick.
@SincereDoper well listen here dick. as with my other posts i'm a submission fighter myself so yes i knw all about the mind of a fighter. i fought in tae kwon do as a kid and took on and beat guys who had higher belts than me. i compete in the advanced level in grappling tournaments against bjj blck belts and i have never taken a bjj class in my life. if you weigh 230 be a fuckin man and fight heavyweight. dont cut to 205. if i weighed 220 guess what id fight heavyweight.
@bsglifedotcom second of all on the streets there is no weight cut or weight classes. if a man threatens you then u have no choice but to fight him. you cant say oh wait a second i'm 180 and your 215. no you fight . you train to fight at anytime. the weight cut in wrestling and fighting is a dumb traditition.
@dmane4 i'm god as far as you are concerned muthafucka. your non reading ass can't see that i said as a competitive grappler myself and as a man with pride and heart, i wanna face guys who are actually my size or bigger i dont wanna cut weight cuz i think i'll bully around smaller guys. sorry i have pride and a real competitive drive and won't feel like a winner knowing i beat guys i outweighed by 15-20lbs.
@bsglifedotcom Jon Jones walks around at 230 and has the longest reach in UFC history (If he fought JDS he would still have a 8 and a half inch reach on him too) But Jones only fights at LHW cause he knows he has the size and reach advantage over everyone their. In his last 6 fight Jones had had over a 10 inch reach advantage on all his opponents, I see your point.
@LillDwayne i'm not saying dont drop 5-10lbs but when your cutting 15-20-25-30lbs that just says your scared and not confident in your ability. i a a man wouldnt be satisfied with winning against guys that im way bigger than. i wanna beat up on guys my size or bigger
@bsglifedotcom that's a bit contradicting isn't it? "fight at their natural weight and quit cutting down. if you walk around at 215 you need to be fighting at either 205 or heavyweight" eh??? Isn't that still considered cutting weight. DEFINE natural weight. Is it after someone bulked up or is it when you don't exercise and eat usually which would best be described as "your natural weight". Putting on less muscle mass is almost the same as cutting weight. YOU MAKE WEIGHT YOU GOOD
@gottawachit ok put it this way. i have a submission grappling tournament in columbus oh in march. i just finished my bulking phase and weighed in at my most 218lbs after i'm now strtng my cardio phase and getting my body fat back down to where a fighters should be. i will be around 203-204 to fight in the light heavy division. i will be 206lbs at the most during my fights. my weight wont go back up to 218 while fighting. my point is as a competitor i wanna win against guys my size or bigger.
@gottawachit u obviously didn't listen to what i said. weight cutting means that you weigh in at the limit for example in my case when i graple limit is 205 and then you rehydrate and eat and the next day at the fight you weigh 220 225etc. in my case when i weigh in at 205 i can rehydrate and the next day i wont weigh more than 208 or 209 at the most. me doing cardio now in january 4 a fight in march is not weigh cutting its calld gettin n shape after a bulk. i'll only be 205-209 on fight day
@gottawachit i cant see how any man especially a fighter gets any satisfaction by winning against guys you outweigh by 10-20-30 lbs. thats just corny. i like hendo cause he fights 185 to heavyweight. edgar fights at his natural weight and beats guys that are weighing 10-20lbs more than him. gsp walks around at almost 200lbs he should be a middleweight period. silva fights middle and lt heavy. jon jones is to young to go heavy so hes strting off in lt heavy which i can understand
@bsglifedotcom 1) "i'm now strtng my cardio phase and getting my body fat back down to where a fighters should be" - Edgar, no, no one really fights at their natural weight class
2) "gsp walks around at almost 200lbs he should be a middleweight" - wouldn't it be more correct in your case for him to fight at lhw
3) "jon jones is to young to go heavy" - So others get exceptions to be allowed to weight cut.
4) Contradictions really or just plain out inconsistency....
@gottawachit again me losing body fat from a bulk which is needed to put on muscle so i can walk around at 208lbs with 9-10%bodyfat is different form someone weighing 225 on monday and cutting to 205 on friday only to weigh 220-225 the next day during a fight. big difference. as far as gsp ive heard he walks around at 190-198 yea he could go lt hvy he'd be very small at lght heavy itd be impressive to see him win at that size but if hes weighing 195ish then yea 185 is fine
@gottawachit jon jones is a beast. as i said n other posts i;ll be all the way impressed with him when he is beating down guys that r his height and weigh as much as him or likely more. instead of him fighting guys that hes 4-5 inches taller than & outweighs by 15-20 lbs during the fight. fighters can do what they want. im saying as a fighter im more impressed by the guys that dnt cut weight & just fight within 5-10lbs of their walk around weight. if uve never competed u cant relate..period
@bsglifedotcom doesnt make them pussys..what a dumbass thing to say. there is no dominant champion or a champion at all that is that far below there natural weight..
@bradalenko i'm not talking about the champions you dick nugget. im saying the fighters..any fighter that feels like they wanna cut weight to have a size advantage is doing a cowardly thing. congrats that they are man enough to fight but quit being scared to be the smaller guy. if your skills are better you will win. period. its like the highschool kid that cant pick on highschool kids so he picks on jr high kids cuz they are smaller. be a man an fight guys your actual size
@bsglifedotcom Interesting point, but the majority of UFC champions are big for their division. GSP, Jon Jones, Anderson Silva...all have a noticeable height or reach advantage above their opponents most of the time.
@latandafour and ive always said gsp should have moved to midwht aloooong time ago. silva only stayed at 185 because machida was at 205 and they did not wanna fight. jones is freakishly long in the arms. but he is 6'4 he should be a heavyweight, and one day he will be in that division. i'd be more impressed with jones if he was at heavy now but he's still a bad boy. i wanna see him against guys as tall & long as him. junior proves you dont gotta be 285 or 275 and cut to 265 to win the hvy title
@buriedvoid u idiot u really are stupid. Pay attention. By putting the weigh in on the same that will make fighters stay at a closer weight that they are fighting. For example if u fight in the 185 division u will be walking around 195 lbs therefore u won't have a guy that's a natural 185 lb fighting a gorilla weighing at 230 lbs. They cut weight bc SIZE MATTERS
@Imhim247 By rehydrating, before the weigh-ins they suck all the water out of their bodies and it allows them to make weight, then they rehydrate and eat and gain all their weight back. Most fighters weigh 20-30pounds more on fight night.
get rid of the weight cutting bs as a whole. weigh them like usual, and them weigh them RIGHT before they step into the cage. If they suddenley weigh too much
THAT way we would ACTUALLY get to see two EQUALLY heavy fighters showing their TOP performances. Without suffering from cutting trauma and shit like that
I'm confused. First AJ weighs 197 lbs, and Belfort says he will fight him if he weighs <205lbs. So i then see a report that AJ weighs in on fight day at 204lbs and so the fight is given the go ahead. But the ufc release a video of him weighing 211 lbs, when belfort said he couldn't weigh more than 205. WTF has gone on?
@DannySMalone yea, same thing. I also thought Belfort will still make the weight at 180 smthing... and he himself weighs in at 205... wtf! I honestly think the amount of weight they cut is a little too much these days!
I still can't believe Anthony Johnson missed weight TWICE. Come on son......

Vitor made a deal with Johnson and Dana to both fight for 205 lbs on day of fight, after Johson weigh in 197 lbs in the day before. Vitor was perfect, 205.6 and Johnson was up again this time 7 lbs over the 12 lbs over in the day before...lol
fair he was released.
sylvio123 1 month ago
weigh ins should be at noon or morning day of the fight , they can still do the theatrics just the same , promote , press conference , lights & all just the weigh ins on the morning of the fight. it actually seems to waste lots of the production & enery the fighters have & days before they are all putting time & energy on these guys weight cut. WEIGH INS = DAY OF THE FIGHT!
MMAOPEN 1 month ago
Weight-cutting needs to be abolished. The point is to have people the same size fighting each other, and weight cutting makes that less likely, and is dangerous to fighter's heath. I wonder if we will see in the long run that weight-cutting-related health issues are what define the late lives of ex-UFC fighters. Weigh-ins should take place the day before, the day of, and as they enter the ring with various penalties for missing any of those weigh-in goals.

So really when we watch the fights this is what happens....
Weigh-in > Fight Night
Bantamweight > Featherweight
Featherweight > Lightweight
Lightweight > Welterweight
Middleweight > Light Heavyweight
Light Heavyweight > Heavyweight
Heavyweight > Super Heavyweight
So what we see is a weight class higher on fight night...cool
leftyking500 1 month ago 12
@leftyking500 that's the way it works cause fighters don't want to respect their natural weight and they want to be as big as possible on fight night
cza1989 1 month ago
@leftyking500 Not all the time. Sometimes a smaller fighter struggles to keep weight on. Paquiao for example, has to eat and eat to fight at 147. He often comes in 2-3 pounds under to weight ins.

yeah I never understood why they have to cut weight, just fight at YOUR weight, you just draining your body and all that training gone to waste, the human body is not supposed to go through a drastic change like that in like 24 hours LOL so dumb.

CCCChedo 1 month ago
@CCCChedo Use the internet to keep track of a fighter's weight and impose an arbitrary restriction on it? Good idea!
shido534 1 month ago
@shido534
CCCChedo 1 month ago
@CCCChedo Throwing around "moron" already? I can tell you don't know how ironic that is, and you probably had to look up "arbitrary" in the dictionary. Yes, a 10-15 lb limit IS arbitrary because no reputable medical association can state what the limit should be -- only provide guidelines. You'd also be stripping all current UFC champs (who've never missed weight in the UFC) of their titles except for Edgar and JDS. Oh, and my amateur record is 9-0. Please tell me more about yourself!
shido534 1 month ago
@shido534
CCCChedo 1 month ago
@CCCChedo No, it's just you who fails to realise how much some fighters have to travel during their training, how easy it is to manipulate internet data transfer, or how difficult it is to enforce such a rule with connection/power failures, especially in a less developed country like Brazil.
shido534 1 month ago
@shido534
CCCChedo 1 month ago
@CCCChedo I never intended to address weight cutting as an issue -- only your proposal as a horrible idea. Even if I were to offer a proposal, it would be something more realistic such as shifting the time of the weigh-ins or a larger purse penalty, but I'm not endorsing either of those at the moment.
shido534 1 month ago
@shido534

88naka 1 month ago
Rumble deserved to get cut. He's a Light Heavyweight who tries to shrink into a middle-weight or welter-weight before each fight so that he can be much more powerful and bigger than his opponents. That's fine if you can pull it off - but clearly (3 TIMES RUMBLE) he can't.
Frankie Edgar is a TRUE WARRIOR because he doesn't cut weight, fights guys much bigger than himself, and yet still wins and is a champion.
No respect for Rumble - 3 times your out buddy!

Health benefits, performance benefits and you won't be fined part of your purse for missing weight.

YOU MAKE WEIGHT YOU GOOD
gottawachit 1 month ago
@gottawachit ok put it this way. i have a submission grappling tournament in columbus oh in march. i just finished my bulking phase and weighed in at my most 218lbs after i'm now strtng my cardio phase and getting my body fat back down to where a fighters should be. i will be around 203-204 to fight in the light heavy division. i will be 206lbs at the most during my fights. my weight wont go back up to 218 while fighting. my point is as a competitor i wanna win against guys my size or bigger.

@bsglifedotcom then "i'm now strtng my cardio phase and getting my body fat back down to where a fighters should be" is weight cutting still

@gottawachit u obviously didn't listen to what i said. weight cutting means that you weigh in at the limit for example in my case when i graple limit is 205 and then you rehydrate and eat and the next day at the fight you weigh 220 225etc. in my case when i weigh in at 205 i can rehydrate and the next day i wont weigh more than 208 or 209 at the most. me doing cardio now in january 4 a fight in march is not weigh cutting its calld gettin n shape after a bulk. i'll only be 205-209 on fight day
bsglifedotcom 1 month ago
@gottawachit i cant see how any man especially a fighter gets any satisfaction by winning against guys you outweigh by 10-20-30 lbs. thats just corny. i like hendo cause he fights 185 to heavyweight. edgar fights at his natural weight and beats guys that are weighing 10-20lbs more than him. gsp walks around at almost 200lbs he should be a middleweight period. silva fights middle and lt heavy. jon jones is to young to go heavy so hes strting off in lt heavy which i can understand
bsglifedotcom 1 month ago
@bsglifedotcom 1) "i'm now strtng my cardio phase and getting my body fat back down to where a fighters should be" - Edgar, no, no one really fights at their natural weight class

For example if u fight in the 185 division u will be walking around 195 lbs therefore u won't have a guy that's a natural 185 lb fighting a gorilla weighing at 230 lbs. They cut weight bc SIZE MATTERS

how does Belfort weight 205 that fast?!
Imhim247 1 month ago
@Imhim247 By rehydrating, before the weigh-ins they suck all the water out of their bodies and it allows them to make weight, then they rehydrate and eat and gain all their weight back. Most fighters weigh 20-30pounds more on fight night.

@Jamerrz damn! thanks for the info!

@Jamerrz
But how someone can drink 30 pounds of water or whatever for one day. Before this situation I didn't realise that they change their weight so match.

get rid of the weight cutting bs as a whole. weigh them like usual, and them weigh them RIGHT before they step into the cage. If they suddenley weigh too much
THAT way we would ACTUALLY get to see two EQUALLY heavy fighters showing their TOP performances. Without suffering from cutting trauma and shit like that

@schmendriks if they suddenly weigh too much disqualify them *

I'm confused. First AJ weighs 197 lbs, and Belfort says he will fight him if he weighs <205lbs. So i then see a report that AJ weighs in on fight day at 204lbs and so the fight is given the go ahead. But the ufc release a video of him weighing 211 lbs, when belfort said he couldn't weigh more than 205. WTF has gone on?
DannySMalone 1 month ago
@DannySMalone yea, same thing. I also thought Belfort will still make the weight at 180 smthing... and he himself weighs in at 205... wtf! I honestly think the amount of weight they cut is a little too much these days!
