@maisonet1966 I'll show you that after you show me (and nothing else) where the early church had sunday school/nurses/ushers/band/choir rehearsal, anniversaries and appreciations, "things" we do at church. Everything is not written in the Word, so why do you accept and participate in them? Because they help to edify. In Joel, 2:28-29, Acts 2:17-18 the word "prophesy" translated from the Greek means to "preach" "proclaim". Whether it is done in 4 walls or on the street, it is accomplished.
Be what does the word of God tell us. We all have desires but we need to go by the word of our Lord. The word of God is the same yesterday,today,and tomorrow. Why do we let the views of people tell us what is right and not the bible. This is why so many problems are in the world today. When we step away from the word and let our feeling dictate what we need to do. America was founded by religion,once we took religion out ,it all went down hill. We must live by God's word not by our feelings.

You must understand who Paul was talking to, and why he told the Corinthian women to be silent...Remember, reading the Word of God is not a story. It must be rightly divided. You have to know who the writer was, to whom they were writing for what reason and what dispensation it was written. Study to show thyself approved...rightly dividing the word of truth.
I guess this all changes when we are in church. Then it is the women that assumes this roll..
