  • Off course he isn't high. Cos you can't play this amazing and be high at the same time

  • ke makinaaaa

  • inside of a church???????

  • one of the few metal drummers that has such a sweet groove as well. fuck love this guy.

  • Hey this is Dirk Adler here hahahaha

  • personally I'd like to know what his feet are doing at around 1:00. I'm gonna say paradiddles?

  • The China he's using sounds great. What kind is it, and what size? Thanks

  • soilwork is one of my favourite bands, but dirk is wasting his talent in them.

  • @SuperColossal33 Dirk belongs in a groove oriented band like soilwork. It gives him much more freedom to improvise and showcase his skills. Stuff like Math metal/prog metal/djent metal/chinese algebra metal, whatever the fuck you want to call it, kind of restrict a drummer from really going crazy like Dirk does with Soilwork. Sure, all that shit is hard to play, but polyrhythms and crazy time signatures get boring after a while. It's much more interesting listening to Dirks playing with Soilwork

  • @DzagielAreq king of the threshold

  • "Hey this is Kermit from Soilwork!"

  • who's up for some arm wrestling ?

  • dirka dirka dirka, muhammad jihad

  • Incredible drummer.

  • Would not be surprised if he was stoned of his tits hahahah

  • @xxxmartin666 Actually Dirk doesn't smoke anything. He is just always in a happy place.

  • @sickdrummerdotcom And I respect him for that!

  • @sickdrummerdotcom I wonder where his happy place is.

    Hmm.

Must be Dirkland, where every man there is a god at drumming and every woman their voluptuous wives.

  • beast

  • 1:07 is fucking sick

  • aha his name is dirk

  • I love his drumming style, he uses really nice fills and stuff their songs.

  • :O I need his bass/triggers.

  • are is origins Dutch? Dirk Verbeuren is a very Dutch name. i'm from the Netherlands and it sounds very dutch to me

  • @undershadowdrummer I thought so too, so I looked him up on the Meinl site. He's belgium (:

  • @Thanatiphoros ahaha oke! thanks for telling man :P you can't hear his belgium accent :P

  • @undershadowdrummer he's belgian ;)

  • Is he actually recording in a church?

  • Dirk - jesus on drums - Verbeuren.

    END OF DISCUSSION! :)

  • most underated drummer. hes the BEST ;D

  • Dirk works out good, though the weed look isn't that agressive :)

  • How fucking high is that guy when he first starts talking at like 20 seconds? hahahahaha. Thats amazing.

  • @roady05 ...Dirk is High on life! I don't even remember drinking with him.

  • @sickdrummerdotcom because you drank so much!!! :)

  • Doesn't the whole studio-in-church thing seem cheesily black metal?

Regardless, Dirk, Hoglan, and Reinert are my favorite drummers. :D

  • @Sticksandstones32 it's all about the reverb; the more naturally airy the sound, the more amazing the recordings will be.

  • studio in church

  • I LIKE IT :)

  • Fuck, I need to listen to The Panic Broadcast again......and again and again!

  • "king of the threshold" is the name of the song in case anyone is wondering

  • Is this a church :O Dirk FTW

  • @Compendyum I know there are a couple studios built in old churches because they have good acoustics.

  • @abacacus I see. Original scenario for a studio as well.

  • can i get this track without vocals?!?! haha

  • would be nice to see him playing without those gloves =P to me. when i play drums with gloves. it increases my quickness. but i dont like gloves =P cant get the feeling when my hands arent contacting with drumsticks

  • LOL

Joey Jordison: "God sent me to earth to show people how to play the drums."

Mike Portnoy: "I didn't sent anyone..."

Dirk Verbeuren: "I did but it kinda failed."

    God: "Well said, Dirk!"

  • Amazing drummer!

  • Faaaaaaaaaaauuukkkk!!!!!! :@

*headbangs on wall till brains pop out*

    GodLike !

  • Dirk Should be rated the best drummer of all time

  • Badass drummer is badass!

  • VOTE! which is better, Predators Portrait, Natural Born Chaos

  • @jesusmetal92107 Predators Portrait and Natural Born Chaos are compleyely different albums, and can't be really compared. But I would choose for A.P.P.

  • what song is he playing in the beginning?????

  • What the balls? Is that his real voice?

I heard him in the Devin Townsend studio update and thought he was intentionally doing a Mr Bean voice as a joke.

  • @sausagedogmcgee Ahahah he does sound like Mr Bean xD

  • atomic beat generator, as fear factory says for RJ herrera, you rock dude

  • what is the song he is drumming to??

  • @JustAnotherDoood King of the threshold=)

  • @JustAnotherDoood

It's called "King of the Threshold" off of their new album "The Panic Broadcast". It's a fantastic album, and you should definitely buy it :)

  • Whoa!! Look at the window! I think Their recoding in a Church!

  • whatsongisthis D:

  • @adwester111 nvm its king of the threshold

  • Sicknasty my friend sicknasty.

  • Double kick, cymbal fill, double kick, blast, cymbal fill...

  • this dude is from belguim like me xp i'm glad belguim has something good

  • Maaaaan... The technique he uses to vary strength of the beats on the hit-hat is something I believe I'll never reach! He's definitely ahead of 99% of other metal drummers!

  • @lgalicki lol

  • Chris Adler's long lost brother.

  • @Jordan19922444 He's actually better then Chris Adler XD

But yeah, they are almost identical XD If you would say they are family, I would believe it O__o

  • @Jordan19922444 So Willie Adler's long lost brother?

  • @Jordan19922444 They lost him somewhere in Belgium appearantly. I mean, really seriously, who actually lives there?

  • @Incisionator Christian Olde Wolbers used to live there.. And belgians i would imagine xD

  • @BeardedDanishViking Yeah. I live in Belgium aswell.

  • @Jordan19922444 Adler's wishes he could play half of what Dirk can play man

  • @Jordan19922444 Hm. Probably, but Dirk rips Chris Adler in half on the drums :).

  • @sempthegreat I totally agree dude...Dirk's not even from this fuckin planet.

  • @sempthegreat ur just as high as he is if u truly believe that. good drummer but he's chasing adler forever and always.

  • @CardinalJiles this guy smokes adler, Hard!

  • @Meatlooaf okay meatloaf. but no seriously u dont believe that. u cant. u can not listen to... "blackened the cursed sun" and then tell me anything this guy has ever done is close to that. again not saying this guy isnt good. he doesnt look like he would be good, but he's a good. he's a professional. but adler could give this guy lessons

  • @CardinalJiles this guy is about 4000 times more technical, his footwork is beyond human. and i have listened to LoG, i love them, and Adlers work, he is just anyway near this guy. listen to blind eye halo ( i think thats the name) or the pittsburgh syndrome, or maybe even nerve, then tell me he can give this guy a lesson!

  • @Meatlooaf he just Isn't*

  • @Meatlooaf i respect ur opinion but at the same time, its so crazy to me, i almost get the feel, ur joking with me. i will listen to the songs but this dude aint that dude. u feel me dude? haha

  • @CardinalJiles actually i don't.

  • @Meatlooaf shame on u.

  • @CardinalJiles shame on me? i'm not the one who thinks Chris Adler is better than Dirk.

  • @Meatlooaf shame on u because u should haha.

  • @CardinalJiles lol i'll decide what i think!

  • @Meatlooaf hahaha

  • @CardinalJiles Dirk IS technically better... listen to Sybreed - Antares. Dirk played on that Album... Or Devin Townsend's "Deconstruction". I can ensure that Chris Adler won't be able to play this stuff. Fredrik Thordendal of Meshuggah stated that Dirk Verbeuren is in his opinion one of the best absolute metal drummers in the world...

    Take this song for example:

    watch?v=Azs65UOFQ3c

    Other Videos:

    watch?v=z3MUeu9wsQY

    watch?v=pYApF1Qxsc0

    watch?v=W3teXZI2Pik

  • @Jonschmann ha! yea after that... my point is more firm. we agree to disagree then

  • beautiful rolls 1:38

  • are they recording in a church?

  • i'm very impressed

  • I like the sound of the snare. I would never guess their drummer had that kind of technique with long motions n stuff

  • @EcoFascist

check out his website, the mans a session musician, and the main drummer for soiilwork and Scarve.

  • Dirk is a great mix between awesome groove, creative patterns, speed and song support.

  • King of the Threshold is best

  • @papegojaz yeah I dont think it is man, the drumming sounds completely different to the drumming in king of the threshold.

  • @MirrorzTruth

It seems it's not the final take that was used on the album... but it's definately King of the Threshold. Dirk developed some drumparts while he was recording.

  • What song is he playing here ?

and I love the part where he changes the rhythm at 1:06 so wicked

and yes I think he is very under rated

  • @MirrorzTruth The song is King of the Threshold from their latest album.

  • @MirrorzTruth King Of The Threshold

  • ..Is he playing drum?

  • What a nasty drummer..his style is so much different than other drummer's in Metal.

  • A perfectly underrated drummer. His drumming is extremely complex at times, heard especially on his work with Scarve. He deserves way more than he gets.

  • @Feskprins I completely agree. This drummer deserves to be a part of a better band. Soilwork doesn't exploit the talent this drummer posseses. I think he would work well in a progressive metal/rock band or even a jazz fusion outfit.

  • @88omair

so, a progressive metal band is always better than soilwork? and what is progressive? i actually think soilwork are more progressive than most bands that are called progressive metal. and Soilwork is not the only band dirk plays in.

  • @HirnStattGewalt Well actually the thing about progressive bands is they explore various different genres and styles, that allows them to experiment more. I've listened to a few soilwork albums, I think that Peter and Dirk are incredible talents, but they need to branch out more. Watching Dirks videos, the way he plays the drums is very cool, but they're focusing on blast beats and quick tempos way too much. They're melodic death metal, but the leaders of that imo are Dark Tranquillity.

  • @88omair Appologies for the multiple replies :P

  • is this a church?

  • King of the threshold : )

  • is the album out already?

  • @iankstarr

Dunno about a week ago, but sure as hell it is now! Bought it yesterday, it's 40 minutes of epicness!! (L)

  • i think that this might be the best song of the new album, sounds sick.

  • Always a joy to see him, not just drumming!

  • haha did they record in a church

  • @playskoolonacid Yeah. They kinda did.

  • brutal

  • "sloywork"? lol

  • This recording is from the upcoming new song King of the Threshold.

  • 1:02 ...anyone else just feel like making an angry face, some \m/ and head banging?

    such a groovin beat

  • Blast beats with accents, Dirk, you never stop to amaze me

  • Don't compare, enjoy!

  • Finally! I now know how to pronounce his surname.

Dirk is honestly one of the best metal drummers around today. He makes ridiculously technical stuff seem so effortless. Can't wait for Soilwork's next album.

  • the groove at 1:00 is so fuckin sick

  • they seem to stay true to their music which means that it will be awesome! the new released song Two Lives Worth of Reckoning is great as well.

i've the certain feeling that this album will kick asses!

can hardly wait till 2nd july

  • the album is going to be undescribeable awesome :D

  • Deadly!

  • I cant wait!

  • I can't wait the new album!

  • i'll say it again: soilwork is a waste of dirk's talent. he can blow any of the extreme grinders out of the water when he wants to, and the stuff he plays in scarve is unrivalled.

  • his drumming was better in scarve

  • Gimme that snare drum

  • His hi hat accents are so cool in this, you dont see that a lot with metal drummers

  • god damn soilworks drumming hasnt been this good since the chainheart machine! I WANT A NEW SONG!

  • 2th of June, Its the release day

  • @Xatalion its actually the 25th of June not the...2th? Not sure what that is.

  • @beastman101

"The Panic Broadcast is set to be released on July 2 (EUROPE) and July 13 (N. America) via Nuclear Blast!"

Source: MySpace -> The article about the The Panic Broadcast-Artwork.

  • @Xatalion

the 2th of June? what is that?

  • @abuccilli11 It's the tooth of June. Duh.

  • @abuccilli11 no its the 2rd

  • oooooouw ok thenks man (Y)

  • what is this song ?

  • album isnt out yet so i think no one knows!!

  • Its gona be AWESOME!

  • My favourite album is absolutely Stabbing The drama, Figure 5 and Natural born chaos. I really hope this would be better than Sworn to a great divide. I rly didnt like that album :/

  • @gromppe yeah natural born chaos was the album that got me into Soilwork, its still my favorite. Stabbing and Figur 5 are fuckin tremendous as well. Sworn to a great divide was good, but i don't think it even touched those albums.

  • yea dude stabbing the drama got me into soilwork and i heard panic broadcast is going to be off te freaking chain!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cant wait cant wait!!!!!!

  • all their albums are good! dont hope, an ultimate album will arise again!

  • i hope their new album sounds like Steelbath Suicide

  • @lxBlurxl a man can dream...

  • Simply incredible, can't wait for this album

  • I hope for a heavy / brutal album:)

  • Always amazing!! Dirk always has something very good!!!

  • I'm hoping this album will be a blend of A Predator's Portrait and Stabbing the Drama!

  • Is that a church? lol
