soilwork is one of my favourite bands, but dirk is wasting his talent in them.

@SuperColossal33 Dirk belongs in a groove oriented band like soilwork. It gives him much more freedom to improvise and showcase his skills. Stuff like Math metal/prog metal/djent metal/chinese algebra metal, whatever the fuck you want to call it, kind of restrict a drummer from really going crazy like Dirk does with Soilwork. Sure, all that shit is hard to play, but polyrhythms and crazy time signatures get boring after a while. It's much more interesting listening to Dirks playing with Soilwork

I can ensure that Chris Adler won't be able to play this stuff. Fredrik Thordendal of Meshuggah stated that Dirk Verbeuren is in his opinion one of the best absolute metal drummers in the world...

I've listened to a few soilwork albums, I think that Peter and Dirk are incredible talents, but they need to branch out more. Watching Dirks videos, the way he plays the drums is very cool, but they're focusing on blast beats and quick tempos way too much. They're melodic death metal, but the leaders of that imo are Dark Tranquillity.
