You know I loves me some Captain America, can't wait for The Avengers (duh!) and Cap 2. I still gotta get Rise of the Apes, really loved that one. I wouldn't call SUPER 8 a masterpiece but I do love it, as you said the kids were wonderful in it. UP is awesome. End of.
A Bug's Life is definitely underrated and I agree on the villian! American Psycho could use a better transfer but it's by no means terrible. I'm jealous for not having a future shop! That steelbook is awesome. I've yet to see Rec 2 but the first one creeped me out! I'm with you on current horror. It's kind of meh for me now. The Taxi Driver blu ray is the closest thing to a criterion blu that isn't a criterion...if that made sense. Great pick ups!
I want to see REC but I'm scared :) I can hardly watch Paranormal Activity so I don't think I have much hope with REC tbh. Still, I've added it to my LoveFilm list. I don't mind not sleeping for a week :)
Scorsese is somebody I really need to get into. I haven't watched many of his films and I think that's bad of me :) I've never watched Taxi Driver. I'm ridiculous.
You've got some great pick-ups there, Mr! Cool video.
I was pleasantly surprised with Planet of the Apes too. I quite enjoyed it. Didn't blow me out of the water or 'owt but ... it wasn't bad.
I adored Super 8. I liked the whole coming of age feel to it and I liked Cooper the Alien :) The kids are for sure the best thing about it and I thought Elle Fanning was completely brilliant.
Up! made me cry :) Just a lil' bit! I like films that "try to make me cry". I like crying at films.
I've never watched A Bugs Life which is ridiculous, I know. I've never watched Cars/Ratatouille either :) I think I need to get on Pixar, asap!
Black Swan <3 Such an incredible film. I really need to pick that one up! *makes mental note* I like that edition you have (Y)
Now that I have a Blu-Ray player I need to update my collection and replace some films with Blu-Ray editions. Fightclub & American Psycho are on my list. Haven't watched either of them in years.
"It's all a matter of opinion but...mine's right." Haha, I love it. I wanna get my hands on Black Swan, I haven't seen it since the theatre last year but it's always so bloody expensive. I regret not getting out to see Super 8 in the theatre but I got the Blu-Ray and it was so fucking awesome, it just had that really "old movie" feel to it which we need more of today.
I really loved the first season of the Walking Dead. Lots of action and exploration of what's happened to the country. I really liked the character building in the second season, but I missed the action that first season had.
Fantastic update! I really need to get more Pixar films on blu ray. I agree, A Bug's Life is pretty underrated. Not the best, but it has a lot of enjoyable characters. Fight Club is one of my all time favorite films as well. I love it more each time I watch it. I was also surprised how much I enjoyed RotPotA. I've never been into the PotA films so I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. Up is probably my favorite Pixar film. The beginning is so sad though.
Great stuff!
