  • Jailbreak your phone if you have ios 5, and get allmail.

  • Works on my iPad 2 ios5 thanks

  • And for those of you raving about delete mail... that is not for iOS yet either.

  • Oh com'on this only works if you don't have iOS5. This is lame apple!

  • Didn't work on my iPhone 4S. iOS 5.0.1. How did he do it?

  • @CamMan1964 I am on iOS 4.1

  • couldn't get it to work on my iPhone 4 with 5.0.1. what's strange though is that last night I was deleting them one at a time and must have swiped in an odd way and they all deleted. But I don't know what made them all go away grrrr

  • Mine kept crashing too but I did what MOOG1337 suggested and it's perfect cuz that way it marks them all as read but you can still access them if you need too. Thanks

  • all you have to do is go to settings>mail, contacts, calendars>Email>Delete Account... then just sign back into the email and your good to go

  • There is no delete all from the inbox. It exists only in the trash. The key is to use the trick in the video with the move button, moves everything to trash and then you delete all. Problem is, at least on my phone, the app crashes instantly. Thanks Apple.

  • @spec24 Thanks

  • I was so excited to find this hidden feature. Sadly it did does not work for me from the in-box.

    iPhone 4GS, IOS 5.0.1

Nothing happens when I release the Delete button.

Move to Trash looks like it should be doing something, but doesn't actually move any emails to trash.

  • just tried this with Mark as read instead of delete and it worked like a charm! FINALLY! This has been a huge pet peeve of mine with IOS, having to go through 200 emails one by one to mark them as read was a pain in the ass!

  • how do you actually stop the crashing??? it keeps on crashing...

  • I've tried it 10 times on my iPhone 4 and it won't show up... Is this a jailbreak feature or no? Help!

  • @1yourme nope its a non jailbreak function. its not an app.

  • Thx soooooooo much

  • Thx soooooooo much alot

  • I got this to work for my iphone 3gs with iOS 5

  • @mrkreit Using the same directions as in the video?

  • Does not work on the new 4s I tried like 6 times NFG

  • @sledgehammer86 try this: Go to the account and select the inbox. Click edit, select any email, hold down the MOVE button, deselect the email, release, retap the MOVE button and send to the Trash!

  • @jerryx2000 yes that works thankyou

  • @jerryx2000 actually my phone just crashes new 4gs 64gb

  • @whatscrakn101 try for IOS5

Go to the account and select the inbox. Click edit, select any email, hold down the MOVE button, deselect the email, release, retap the MOVE button and send to the Trash!

  • @sledgehammer86

this worked on my iphone4....i did exactly as it said and was demonstrated...pressed edit..selected the first message. held the delete button down and unchecked/deselected that first msg..as soon as i released the delete button, the delete all or cancel appeared. i hit the delete all and it did it. ...worked.

  • This only works in "Trash", not in the "Inbox". I have a iPhone 4 with iOS5.

  • YES...a bit of a mod, but got this to work on my ipad with IOS 5...

Go to the account and select the inbox. Click edit, select any email, hold down the MOVE button, deselect the email, release, retap the MOVE button and send to the Trash!

  • @RPeoplesPhoto Thanks for the tip, man!

  • This work for trash imboxes only

  • @KardTricks wrong

  • Im on ios5 it doesnt work -_-

  • @KardTricks i can't tell. need to get ios5 first.

  • THX!

  • when ur jailbroken you can download deletmail in cydia its a delete all buton in inbox just like in trash! apple sucks without jailbreaking. hackers thinks better ideas than apple. joke

  • Download Deletemail from cydia. It works. Dont forget to change recent messages in settings/mail to 200.

  • @ottric you don't need a jailbreak for this

  • on 4.3.5 only when in the trash, press edit and the delete button now says delete all without any of the emails checked. This is great. Just does not work while in the inbox. What is described does not work anywhere on 4.3.5

  • @ddpronto1 good to know. I won't update to 4.3.5 cause I am not interested in the Jailbreak headache. I will wait for the iOS 5.

  • I am on 4.3.5 - iphone 4 and just noticed when I go to trash to delete and click edit, the delete button automatically says "delete All" I can choose any to delete but if I don't do anything I can delete all of the trash at once, which is great. I don't know how this happened all of a sudden, via an update? I was deleteing a lot of them via edit tonight and I had many checked and all of a sudden the delete button at the bottom said "delete all"??? It worked fine just not sure how??

  • Ty man

  • Thanks worked well

  • Just tried again in Hotmail Sent and junk folders. Didn't work - I'm on 4.3

  • @mlai5241 I believe you, thats why I hate Apple updates. I only install major updates. 4.1 was the last. I will wait for the iOS 5.

  • I have a number of email accounts on my iPhone. Works great on Trash folders but not on Sent. Jerry, did this work for you on Sent folders?

  • @mlai5241 I just tested the sent folder. It does work. I am on the 4.1

  • Doesnt work with 4.2. Why is Steve Jobs such a faggot? Lets take this feature that makes shit easier, and remove it....smart...

  • Useless, this does not work with the hotmail junk folder!

  • @win2kpro Dude you seem incapable. It does work.

  • This works on my phone, thanks. Question, if I update will I 'lose' this? I know others who have more recent updates than mine and it doesn't work for them.

  • @npr101010 I am staying on the 4.1. I don't know about the future versions. The next IOS I want is the IOS5.

  • Is this feature only active for the Iphone 4? I tried it on my 3GS and it doesn't work. I am dying for this feature

  • @rchrugg Dont know

  • does not work for me - iPhone 4 , 4.2.1 OY!

  • @goblazer I think its only till 4.1

  • Wish this worked for me...

  • @Ergolad do u ve the iPhone 4?

  • @jerryx2000

Naw. Running a 3Gs. Was hoping this would work if you iOS was 4+, not hardware specific.

  • @Ergolad I think this is limited to the iPhone 4.

  • @jerryx2000 The good news. If you have a Jailbroken 3Gs there is a Cydia tweak for 99¢ called DeleteMail!

  • @jerryx2000

Naw. Running a 3Gs. Was hoping this would work if your iOS was 4+, not hardware specific.

  • THANK YOU

  • I am on FW 4.1 & it works fine.

  • @jerryx2000 you are a genius

  • i have the same problim as cad4ny, i have the iphone 3gs 4.2.1 and its not working on it

  • Doesn't work. Seems odd that you have figured this out when no one else on any Apple or iPhone related site has any knowledge of it.

  • @rangakid1 I know I am a genius ;-)

  • help, I just got a brand new iPhone 4 through Verizon and I am trying this step repeatedly and it's not working. could we have different phones
