I remember this vividly. It should of included an adult character to step in and outline the lesson which is, "Any place you are is here and any place you're not is there." Looking back on this sketch I think the lesson is kind of twisted. But what can you do?
This reminds of the one with the muppet with the long arms but no elbows, who could reach the fruit high in the tree, but not bring it to his mouth, so he needed his buddy with short arms and elbows to feed it to him. I think it was about cooperation or teamwork.
LMAO! The best part about this is we debated the necessary and sufficient conditions of "Here" and "There" in one of my philosophy classes last year! XD
@1TheSocraticMethod1 Why be so essentialist? =P Hopefully you could get passed the here/there transitivity problem! (How much is enough to change here to there? A foot? Doesn't matter; we can't say any bit is enough or else we've just landed ourselves into a transitivity-of-identity-type situation.)
I remember seeing this in the 70's but I watched SS into the 80's inspite being way past the target age and this was never repeated into following decade.
The original sketch with the baby monster was far superior! Please Sesame Street, upload the original from 1969!

If you talk to someone on the phone and arrived at your destination, you'd say, "I'm there" because it's far from them.

People use this and that interchangably, but they can't do that with here and there.

I love how they can pull of genuine comedy like this. Sesame Street is a special show.
