I HAVE FOUND A WORK AROUND RIGHT NOW! I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
There are flex cables at the back of the TV conected into dhe display the right one and the left one have to be disconected at the START. After you connect it back it WORKS until next start up. But after 4 months the flex cable has broken- repaired aswell but now its shorter than before,,,however.... there are two "fuse" and capacitors SMD type...replaced a switch and it works. :) lucky me!

Does the TV switch on and off at any point, if so this is the capacitors. Could be a combination of both. I have fixed other LCD sets, but Samsung are much harder
After the warranty? My several thousand dollar samsung broke while under warranty. It spontaneously shot sparks from the screen. Samsung sent out their repair guy and he confirmed that it spontaneously shot sparks from the screen and that it was covered under warranty. Samsung then reported that according to the repair man I broke the TV. So we got the repair man on the line and he said that the TV broke spontaneously. Samsung still wouldn't cover it.

SAMSUNG TRULY DOES SUCK DONKEY BALLS! My 55" LED Samsung had bad back lighting issues and Samsung refused to fix it. Their customer service really is quite poor. If you buy one of their items don't expect to get any real help even if it is under warranty! Look at their BBB rating it is A-. That pretty much means they fail.

Samsung is terrible. They did not honor their warranty on the TV I bought from them. My Samsung TV broke within a year of buying it. They sent out a technician to see why. The technician judged that the TV spontaneously imploded. Samsung disagreed with their own technician's judgment and refused to honor the warranty. They gave no explanation as to why they disagreed with their technician.
Pffff. Americans. Can't even make a TV make it to atleast 1 year after the warranty expired. I've had a good Samsung TV for 4 years [Almost flat :D ] and NEVER had any problems. Expalin how come Europens get better Samsung TVs than Americans do? :D

I know of a person who has a 6-month old 58-inch plasma and Samsung will not repair or replace it before he pays $1,300. for a new unit. Samsung claims the components are NON-SERVICEABLE as technology moves forward, the need to repair them becomes unnecessary. So basically they sell disposable HDTVs. Avoid at all cost!
as consumer you have the right or samsung have to help at least you to get the tv working again, repaired or not, warranty says nothing in the law, since its kinda bullshit that a tv dies right after the warranty expires..

I read they are fixing them free of charge because of this problem and when I called sure enough they are coming free of charge to change out the crappy capacitors in them even with no warranty so call and save 2 grand on another tv !

Panasonic is made in Japan, with all the Japanese made components inside. I have a 30 year old Panasonic camera and a 35 year old Panasonic TV that still goes strong. Plus, Panasonic Veira has the best picture quality of any other TVs even LED of any other brand.

I have just had run in with Samsung in the UK on a 32" lcd. Luckily after 3 years use the supplier under UK law ( sale of goods act) got Samsung to fit a new panel for free. Samsung only warrantee for one year, after that you can go pee up a rope.

I read they are fixing them free of charge because of this problem and when I called sure enough they are coming free of charge to change out the crappy capacitors in them even with no warranty so call and save 2 grand on another tv !

@mrcanales08 Buy Panasonic. Sony, Samsung, LG, Zenith and most other brands are manufactured in Mexico and China with cheap parts in most of them. Panasonic is made in Japan, with all the Japanese made components inside. I have a 30 year old Panasonic camera and a 35 year old Panasonic TV that still goes strong. Plus, Panasonic Veira has the best picture quality of any other TVs even LED of any other brand.

I have a samsung tv, its already got dead pixels after a few months.. My mam has a old tv around 20" that is 6 years old, is not HD ready or anything, just a normal flat screen, Paid £1.400 pound, Still works fine!!!!!!!

mine has done that for like 6 monhs and i just dont turn it off, whenever i do... i just leave it on for a while and it comes back... however yesterday it looked very similar to what you have and still hasn't returned 24 hrs later, im a little freaked out right now.

I have the Samsung 46' LED TV UNB8000 Series and by October 2010 it will be a year of having it.So you say after a year and a few months they fuck up?I will put Samsung and their TVs to the test.Good thing I have a 4 year warranty and I can switch it for any brand tv of same price if Samsung does fail me.If you can't afford buying warranty then don't buy a damn TV.Simple

I have heard a rumor that Samsung has chips in there TVs that make them go defective after the date of warranty and have heard of an unusually large number of complaints that seem to support this. Whether's it true or not I'm not going to buy any Samsung TV's from all the problems I keep hearing about them

My 5 years old Samsung SlimFit just started to make this high pitch sound. I guess I was a lucky one. However, it always had a vertical line going. I won't buy a Samsung TV again for a while. What sux that you can't buy a TV anymore fore less than $400, what a scam.

I have just had run in with Samsung in the UK on a 32" lcd. Luckily after 3 years use the supplier under UK law ( sale of goods act) got Samsung to fit a new panel for free. Samsung only warrantee for one year, after that you can go pee up a rope.

the tv cant be fixed after two weeks of the initial complaint , then they will authorize a replacement product (in year warranty)

@bever49 even if it is outside of warranty, the sale of goods act means that the TV should be able to run for a good 3-5 years (we had one for over 15) and still function properly. Quote the 'Sale of Good Act' to the manufacturer.

Samsung TV's are known for getting great reviews from the "pros" and then crapping out on the customer after they've been in use for a short time. Worse than that is when you call Samsung, you get a Steve Lanford type reply of "Who gives a shit, who gives a fuck" (in so many words). The best advice is no matter how good you think it is at first, don't buy a Samsung TV ever! Quality control and customer service is shit. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if these TV's are actually from NORTH Korea!
