i think 4 fights took place in this vid. in the first 2 clearly the karatekas are in the lead. in 3rd one the other stylist fought well and 4th fight looked like draw. this is how the fights should actually be organised between different styles. full contact +hand strikes to the face(unlike kyokushin) + no gloves(unlike mma and muay thai). you dont fight these kind of fights daily as in rings like mma or muay thai. so gloves can be ignored. this makes the perfect stuff.
around 1:30 the kyokushin practitionoer (i think shokei matsui) takes him down and passes right into side control. if i'm correct kyokushin has some throws in their kata and not only that mas oyama was 4th degree in judo.
@Maximoandii One Punch sorry your deludid its the fighter not the art and BJJ dosent rule your comparing Apples to Oranges BJJ is a grappling art Kyokushin is a Hand to Hand art but imcorperates grappling etc you live in a world where you think you take a guy down on the ground you win? what if that person has freinds and they start stomping you while your trying to Tap out there friend?
some says it's Kyokushin vs Taikiken, but idon't know it seems like chinese kungfu vs kyokushin, can anybody tell me where is Shokei Matsui becouse the video was blur, thanks
All of these guys suck. They hesitate all the time. 0 punching power. 0 Speed. Kicks are useless and mainly coz of obvious hesitating and very bad timing coz of that also. These guys need to go back to the gym. Look up some bruce lee videos. Use hours only to try to understand how their hips work and what is whole body power and specially what is throwing your body against a target. Then go fight again. And go fight with a good spirit with nothing to prove if u need to go fight ;) Peace.
it sucks for me cause i have a shin injury, so i am allways fearful of using my gedan mawashi geri's with good techique, its extreamly painful when someone checks/blocks my geri's with their shin or knee, i need to learn how to mix up my combinations and sidesteps, but i am confident cause i know at any moment i can burst out with aggression and multiple techniques at will, this allways suprizes people cause they think just becuase im whitebelt i cant fight, i can..
@TimeSplitter64 It's always difficult risking getting your kicks blocked like that, right? I know what you mean, it's very painful. I am trying to solve the problem for me by taking a page out of the Thai/Chinese stylists book and doing more conditioning. I know at Martial Arts Mart you can buy pads to hit your shin with to toughen it, and herbs to help as well called Dit Da Jow. I don't know if this might help you or not.
yes thats exactly right, it really effects my confidence when somone checks one of my thig kicks, it hurts so bad, i just need to be able to condition my shins to handle more impact...thanks for the advice! much appreciated.
Hardest thing about any fight of any style is closeing the gap and getting in close and finiding the right striking distance, ask any fighter and they will problly say the same thing.
I practise kyokushin, but im only going to practise it till i reach a shodan(blackbelt), then i am eventually going to move away from traditional styles and focus on more direct methods...
Actually, that's a pretty common statement in Kyokushin, it's why so few pass the forty fights. Does your sensei encourage you to try other things after you get your shodan? Mine did, but I keep dropping in, it's just too much fun to leave it alone for long, painful, but fun. I think he knew that though
Shihan allways says that closing the gap and getting in punching range is the hardest thing to do.
Im only a white belt in kyokushin, but i wads doing shodan techniques way before i started kyokushin, i joined kyokushin to help clean up some of my sloppy techniques and learn some respect, i am still a very good fighter, and i continue to suprize the shihan and sensei with my hidden talent.
Hmm, maybe for someone who is confident with their speed, you may see no reason for closing the gap. I'm a shodan, by the time I was eighth kyu I had accepted that getting close was my best bet. Just be persistant in moving forwards despite what you will, kind of unnavoidably, wear.
i totally agree, we just did sparring last night, and i realized then that moving in close is my best option, it allowed me to avoid high kicks to jodan, and i was able to use gayaku and fudo, although somtimes im scared of getting hurt, but im getting more and more confident that i dont care about getting hit now! :) so im happy osu!
@jumokdragon Defeating your ego is all good and well, if that's your problem. Some people do it for reasons other than 'to get strong' personally I do it cause it's fun. No better rush than going toe to toe with people you shouldn't have a hope in hell against.
these fights don't suck ,there just orthodox fighting styles, its fresh to see something other than MMA but these dudes who waste money on Kung Fu classes taught by a 18 year old white kid, then try to defend themselves in a fight and get KO'ed by a out of shape, couch potato that watches Ultimate Fighter and UFC fight nights, I fought some chump who supposedly was a Kung Fu instructor and I hadn't trained for like 2 years and I waxed him at a Affliction show in the Parking lot. with my Kyokusin
This is Taikiken (against the Kyokushin fighter who wears a gi). Oyama Sosai discovered it lately, and incorporated some aspects of it for advanced practitioners. You could consider it as an "internal" martial arts, even if this is a broad and somehow vague definition.

also notice how Kyukoshin fighters, cant slip head punches.
thats the only thing,i see, that needs work.
Matsu is famous for getting hit in the head, lol.even in the world open,he got tagged some good shots by an Idian fighter.
but add a slip rope and maze/slip bag,and start doing some tyson workouts!

it doesnt make kyokushin look good defeating a kung fu artist who doesnt practice.
if your still worried about defeating people, you still haven't defeated your ego.
when u reach that level, that ufc, fighting this or that doesnt even matter.and is child's play.
who cares what others do or achieve?
I only care about ,what I do.btw,im an Enshin student.

These fights suck.
They all should take some boxing lessons.
They walk in there and just meet the other guys fist.
Looks like two children out in the street imitating Jet Li.
