@chesse I served with the 160th for nearly 9 years and yes it was close knit unit! And we kicked ass when we went through air assault school! australian rappels are the best!!! but fast roping still is the real mans game!
Man, I was in the 101st and I saw people in the worst shapes. Only the 160th, and 5th Group were tight. I was the fastest runner in the 1st Battallion, and behind me was our main group, followed by a LONG line of fat white guys and fat ass black women. I was embarrassed to be part of it. I couldn't stay in 160th because of citizenship requirements :( DAMN!
@luniticrage actually the proper way is suppose to hurt very bad on your hips but most people put it below their hips which is not correct, especially in a real life situation where a combat lock-in is possible. The right way should make you bleed/bruise badly on the hips, the wrong way you rack yourself when you break, either way it's suppose to hurt, right or wrong. Esp after 3 days of wearing them all day
Wear gloves to prevent burning, yes...If you don't, You're a Re-Re as the instructors would say.
This must have been put on by WTC, cause the voices sound like CPL Menzina and SSG Russell in the background. Funny dudes, just got done at Fort Polk.
Rappelling in a swiss seat is way more fun if you do the swiss seat wrong LOL!

do you always wear gloves while you're rappelling? or is there a certain technique that prevents you from burning your hands?
