Hmmm. O_o Interesting concept, though it seems a pity to compromise the comfort of the fish for the pleasure of the viewer.
Although it may be more budget friendly, this design seems flawed and confusing to me because I am aware of the incongruency in the environment(s) and animal(s) being displayed here.
This tank is very overpopulated... This will stress out the fish. Overpopulation puts ur fish in a very high risk of stress-related diseases that will spread to all other fish like wildfire.... I reccomend moving half the population to a seperate tank
Yes that is true. But if you look at it, these fish only have about 3 inches of swimming space between them. As fish are social creatures, they also can get fed up with each other!
just a quick question will 4 albino tiger barbs(small) do fine with 2 spotted cory cats and a pictus cat in a 10 gallon? at least till i can move the pictus?
This will be good for a few months max, then everything will start dying. It's not hard to create tanks like this, looks very fake and just requires buying fish and ornaments and throwing them all together. Looks shit though.
I think you've done an excellent job of making it look like a reef tank. What is the song please? Sounds like Enigma but I don't recognise it and its killing me not to know.....
A general stocking rule would be 1 inch of fish per gallon. Even though I didn't see the whole tank at any one time, it looks to be anywhere from between 8-16 gallons. If all of those fish grew to an inch exactly (I know some of the species will grow longer), it would mean you could only house anywhere between 8 and 18 of those fish! Not 68!
Overstocking is deadly as I am sure you found out.
that general stocking isn't very accurate. It's based on how much waste the fish produces. Like tetra's do not have very much waste produced. Unlike the goldfish who can produce massive amounts of waste.
i think you tank is soo stuning im thinking about changeing my tank from a 20 leter tank to a 40 and it is oing to be square and i have 2 tetras 2 corrys and 1 loach and 4 barbs do you hav any advise on decorating my tank and how many fish you think i could have in there
i know this might not be smart to say but i think a little overcrowded is good i mean fish dont have much to do so it is good if the are abble to be close and swim together
Pretty tank but a little overcrowded-gotta watch the nitrite and amonia levels-I suggest upgrading to a 30+ gallon tank, and your fishies will be much happier with more room. ^_^
66 fish in 10 gallons, do you love your fish? give them a bigger tank.. but your tank is beautifull, make of each 4 fishes 2 fishes and you have 33 thats much more better.. but your tank is still nice (y)
That's nice. I am planning on doing a fresh water coral reef look as well. So I searched, and you came up. I have done some research on different fish to add as well. I have always had tanks. But wanna do the tropical coral reef look now. You did a wonderful job!
Don't know how many gallons yer tank is - but they look happy. And are small enough. Most Tetra's don't grow more than an inch anyway. And they do like to school, which adds to the look and feel. Good looking tank buddy!
if this is a 10 gal tank, ur makin a bad mistake, for every 1 inch on a fish, 1 gal for it. it looks like u hav like 15-20 fish in ther. i wud suggest a bigger tank.
You are wrong, stop giving out false information. You should actually read the "law of stock" before preaching it. LxWxH / Gallons = 1 not L / Gallons = 1. You have to take account the length, width, and height (in inches)
ya, i made that comment wen i was a real fish newbie, and that's wat my dealer told me. but i've been picking up info by a real pro, and i learned that a six inch fish is equal to 216 1-inch fish. but stil, the most u can put in 1 gal is a three inch fish. sory if u found my comment offensive.
Comment on 1 inch per gallon (mentioned elsewhere) if fish is 10 inches long would ten gallon be correct (obviously not). So type of fish and needs (fast swimming schooling verses betta for example) need to be considered as well.
SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY!!!! HI I AM PLANNING ON GETTING 5 OR MAYBE SIX TIGER bArbs FOR MY TEN GALLON> WILL THEY BE FINE IN A TEN GALLON FOR THEY're LIFETIME AND WILL THEY BE hAPPY??? BY THE WAY I AM NOT PLAnnING ON PUTTING ANY OTHER FISH IN THE TANK JUST THE BARBS.
Yes, if you keep the tank well filtered and change about 25% of the water each week by using a syphon. (drain the BOTTOM over the substrate) The Tiger Barbs will do fine in a 10. Get 6-8 and they will shoal happily.
a general rule is to have 1 inch of fish per gallon. Tiger barbs can reach 3 inches in length. so only about 3 adults per 10 gallons is best. BUT if you change filter media(every month) and water (weekly or bi-weekly,depending on fish load) 4 adults will do fine in a ten gallon, i would not go more than 5 max. Your system won't collapse if you put 12-15 inches of fish in a 10Gal. Just remember, the GENERAL rule 1 inch of ADULT fish per gallon can be bent a bit. just use it as a guide. good luck.
It looks pretty - especially love the pink fish at middle screen :30, is that one of the glo light danio's? Never seen them before and doubt they are available in NZ, but I love the colour ..
I agree with everyone else though, WAY to many fish for a small tank! And as it's been a few months since this was posted, you either separated these fish into other tanks, or they are all dead :(
My Aquariums only 10 gallons this doesnt look like 5 gallons espcecially full of coral and so many fish, if theres a sudden spike of nitrate, nitrite,or ammonia is wud surely be a mass extinction.
Nice setup, but you have WAY too many fish in that tank. At most you really should only have 6 - 10 small fish. Your fish also need places to hide to feel comfortable enough to gain a security feeling. Otherwise their colors wont come out fully, and the stress of too many tank mates will begin to kill them off, not to mention the ammonia bloom.
You have that many fish in a 5 gallon tank? Love your plants a coral. Are they real or fake? Where did you purchase them. Love your tank. Very colorful.
Hey I have really hard water. My fish are alive and doing good. Check out my video to see the fish I have and they are all alive and doing good with my hard water. I have a lot of the same fish this guy does.
Small African cichlids should be what ur looking for if your water is FRESHWATER!!! what's the Ph? Cuz I have a real Saltwater tank and I keep the ph at around 8.3. Even for hardwater Frashwater fish the ph should be 8.0-8.3
Way too many fish for that tank!!!!
