@inspectorxbr check that there isnt a hair or somthing tangled in there, check that it is connected to the receiver, and if all seems well but it wont work just order a new tail motor theyre fairly cheap
@inspectorxbr there is no tail rotor, its just for show. the coaxial design uses differential speed of the two main rotors to replace the traditional funtion of a tail rotor in a heli
i got mine today and was flying it outside i crashed on the grass about 10 times.suprisingly nothing broke
but when i was flying at night with some floods lights had a sorta hard landing and lost the flybar but after about 10 minutes of looking i found it.lets just say at first its hard to fly but on ym 3rd flight i ws flying indoors wiht no problems at all. and i havent evern flown a 3 channel on a 2. this is a great starter for the price!!!
Im kinda looking to getting into heli's but i want to get something under 200 to see if i like it or not. Currently I'm looking at the Helimax Novus Cx and the Fp would you recommend the Cx or Fp? Also how is flying it outdoors? Is this a good sized heli or should I look for a mini size heli instead
@littleAZN248 well it depends on your skill level. If you have never flown a owned a four channel heli before, go with the cx. if you have, go with the fp, but im not sure if youll get a fp for under 200
@tomii360 Depends where you are. If you are in the US, buy it off of tower hobbies or another US online vendor. If you are in canada, buy from great hobbies, thats where I order all my things.
and its a peice of crap compared to this. the blade mSR has such bad control. mine might be defected because the main axle looks a little crooked, but when i hold the right stick forward on the mSR the heli goes forward then leans back and starts doing circles, while i held the forward at the same place the whole time. its pissing me off.
Huh. That would piss me off to. I suppose this is after all attempts at trimming it, so I would send it back claiming it is a faulty product, if the warrenty isnt expired. Good luck!
i think this heli is great. i went through like 30 charges with it, i started to abuse the thing because i was flying it to its limits, i stripped the bottom rotor gear, so now its out of commission.
Well theres a guy named Yavor54 that posted a comment detailing how to fix a stripped servo, it might apply to your problem with the bottom rotor gear as well. You should check it out!
Good review, I bought the fp with tail rotor, but I have heli exp, I thought the flight time was about right for that small batt, maybe cp does not last as long, I love my fp, flies great, good for driving the dogs crazy :)
Great info, spot on review!! I'm a new micro r/c heli fan, your review help me find the Blade mcx!!! i love this chopper, it's as easy as melting butter to fly!!! Thanx!!
Awesome review! 10/10 from me. Really nice that you showed the packaging and explained pros and cons. Thanks a lot for this. I will be trying this coptor soon.
Listen up. This copter fails by the servos stripping. That happens with a major crash. Here is the secret fix.
Add a drop of blue thread-locker fluid onto the threads of the servo screw. Then immediately rotate the screw with the micro motor gear until the locker dries (10 min). Then add a drop of lube onto the threads and make sure it again tracks and moves easily. Bam! Fixed.
Hi there, i have a Novus CX. I used it twice and it crashed. The lower propeller satys on no, even if the remote control is off. Do you know if this is common or if there is a fix for this, or is my Novus garbage now. Please help. Thanks!
Well, I have never seen or heard of this, but I can tell you that your new heli is not garbage. Ask around on the helimax novus cx forums(such as helifreak and rc groups). The only thing I can think of is to get the lower prop motor replaced. You can also phone the helimax technical support line and see what they think of it. Unfortunatly, it cannot be covered by warrenty, because it has been damaged by use. Hope this helps!
Well my throttle trim is all the way down but for an odd reason. It seemed that when the throttle was at or above the middle position one of the rotors would spin while the other didnt. It was sorta wierd haha.
I didn't think any body would be buying a Heli-max Novus CX (a rehashed old Walkera Lama 2) after the new Lama 2-1 came out. All these helis are made by Walkera but the Lama 2-1 is got all the bling for 30% less. Ps, it might help if you look in the forums before you buy. Btw, you can get 500MAH and 20C batteries for Lama 2-1 and use them on your old Novus CX to increase power and flight time..
Ive got an e-flite blade cx and my dad has the novus cx and he can fly his copter twice and charge it on one charge with my blade cx2. and the battery does last good for a small helicopter. i dont no who told u that but ur wrong.
Hmmm. My heli does not twich out, but from when my vapor is super twitchy I usually rebind it and everything is ok. Ether your connection is kinda lousy, the servos might have a problem (but i dont think so) Or maby thats just what your heli does for no real reason,(thats why my vapor does that). If it gets really really bad,for example, you cannot fly it due to contant twiching send the heli into helimax for a warranty repair, and they will send you a new one free.
My battery usually lasts about 10 mins but it died after a while so I sent it in for warrenty and got another. It lasts about the same time. You might want to try buying another one, I have got 2 more on order so I can charge and fly at the same time.
I havent tried yet, but I hear it is pretty squirrly outside. I wouldnt try it unless it is dead calm, because it is very light and there is other videos of it being put into a life ending death spin by the wind.
It wont bind to the DX6i or DSM2 because one, I already tried, and two, heli-max comes from a branch called Tower hobbies, so is electrifly and great planes and all of those things., kinda of like parkzone and elfight to horizon hobby. Horizon and Tower hobbies will have nothing to do with eachother, they wont make anything competable with eachothers products. They are kind of like hobby rivals, if you look at it that way.
Well I dont have an mcx I just know they are good for beginner heli pilots. But the Novus cx is very good at going forward sideways backwards and what not. I will be making a video of my novus cx flying fowards and sideways and all the other controls in about a month or so cause Im on holidays right now so I will have to wait until I get back. But I would really sudjest the novus cx if you just want a manoeverable house heli, which is what I wanted.
We have this at work. Along with the Blade MCX, and MCX s300. The pitch is outstanding and in the shop it will haul it across the room. Yaw is pretty touchy and roll is ok. Great heli for the price. $124.99. This is on my wishlist once we get them in at the store :) Very fun heli.
just tighten the blades a little bit where they dont flop loose. i tighten mine down almost where they dont move at all, and then i actually straighten them by hand, at least where they look pretty straight, and that thing will hover sooooo nicely, and fly awesome!! just give it a shot. let me know.
tightened them down, and now it hovers better than my mcx. the main thing you have to be careful with with this heli is use very little controls until you are used to it. it is super fast and will get away from you in a heartbeat.
one thing i will suggest if you get this heli, or already have it, is to tighten the blades down a little bit, where they dont move as easily. i got bored with my mcx, so i bought this. instantly crashed it over and over. couldnt get it to hover without it doing death circles, and couldnt get it to stop. i emailed heli max, and asked them what the deal was, and the very first thing he said was to tighten the blades.
You are sure right about the death circles. But, with practice, I finaly was able to stop the death circles most of the time. Thanks for the tip though!

I've used mine outdoors, and its pretty cool, but only when there's no wind 'cause the minimum air flow affects the stable flying
pearldrummer129 2 years ago
This heli flies very solid, I like it a lot, a nice break from flying my more serious helis.
However, I'm wondering if there's a way to bind the Novus CX to the DX6i? That'd be a rip if it can't, anyone figured this one out yet?
