@smackysthename... where do you think that the junior players will end up? A lot of them will be in the NHL and a lot of NHLers played in the juniors. Does a person suddenly stop loving what they do because they get paid for it? Trust me it's impossible to put forth the dedication and effort that is required to make it to the NHL unless you truly love the game.
Unfortunatly they do a great example is the player strike a couple years ago the strike was because they where putting a salary cap in the NHL if that doesnt prove my point i dont no what will. But yes i think that every player that goes in to the NHL loves it at first but some lose that feeling and thats when stuff like the strike happens. But there are some players who still just play to play and have fun

Canada isn't cold as shit, so quit your stereotypes. Also, if you look at the number of players enrolled in Junior hockey in both the US and Canada, you'll find the number startlingly similar, whereas the enrollment numbers for baseball have huge differentials.
Your still missing the point. Hockey, even in the north, is often the 4th sport on a popularity scale in the US. Our best athletes aren't hockey players most of the time. They play football, baseball, and basketball. If our best players chose hockey before the other three, you would see a much better level of talent on the ice. Its growing in our country, but its non existent south of the Mason-Dixon line or west of the Rockies. That's not to take away from Canada's hockey credentials.

Take a closer look at both incidents. The Slovaks are all grouped up together on open ice and start moving directly towards the USA bench. This was not merely the Slovaks skating by the American bench on the way to their own. For the Canadians, they were indeed skating back to their own bench, that I give you, but was it really necessary to get to close? Surely they could have taken a different route which didn' put them within 6 inches of the USA bench. So come on, don't give me that crap.

However, it was NOT nuked. it was invaded by the US Marines, and is the setting of the picture of the 5 servicemen raising the American flag. had we nuked the island, the Marines and sailors who raised the flag would die of radiation poisoning. Unfortunatly they do a great example is the player strike a couple years ago the strike was because they where putting a salary cap in the NHL if that doesnt prove my point i dont no what will. But yes i think that every player that goes in to the NHL loves it at first but some lose that feeling and thats when stuff like the strike happens. Your still missing the point. Hockey, even in the north, is often the 4th sport on a popularity scale in the US. Our best athletes aren't hockey players most of the time. They play football, baseball, and basketball. If our best players chose hockey before the other three, you would see a much better level of talent on the ice. Its growing in our country, but its non existent south of the Mason-Dixon line or west of the Rockies. That's not to take away from Canada's hockey credentials.

They skate by the bench, the benches are right beside eachother, hwat do you expect them to do, skate down to their own end of the ice then then come by their bench then stop as soon as they get to the end of it, and Don Cherry is not my hero, I think he is a fucking idiot actually, and the guy that agrees with you is also a fucking moron, and i bet on all 3 of the USA goals they skated by canadas bench to skate by their own, and what did we do, went out and won to get back at them

Take a closer look at both incidents. The Slovaks are all grouped up together on open ice and start moving directly towards the USA bench. This was not merely the Slovaks skating by the American bench on the way to their own. For the Canadians, they were indeed skating back to their own bench, that I give you, but was it really necessary to get to close? Surely they could have taken a different route which didn' put them within 6 inches of the USA bench. So come on, don't give me that crap.

The title of this video (-Americans- Do It Again...), and most of the comments on it, are ridiculous; the American player wasn't at fault whatsoever. The Slovaks shouldn't have been celebrating so close to their bench. I wish Shattenkirk had jumped over the bench and shoved that stick down his throat.

Exactly. Next time, don't celebrate in front of the other team's bench! It's an unwritten rule in any sport that you don't do crap like that. I'm not saying the American player was right to do what he did, but seriously, don't freaking celebrate in front of the other team's bench unless you're hoping for this kind of incident.

It reall was "just us," my friend. France had fallen, England was about to, and Russia was in danger of it. Then along came the USA, and before you know it, Nazi Germany went from being on the verge of world domination to offering their unconditional surrender. Sure, other countries had a hand in it, and their efforts are appreciated. But face it, we could have done it without them, they could not have done it without us.

Did you not learn about the common wealth nations such as canada, australia and south africa? i'm pretty sure they weren't on the edge of german "domination". Yes, and we appreciate all your efforts, you are deserving of praise. But the efforts of Canada, Australia, and South Africa combined were small compared to the USA's contributions by itself. WWII's outcome was not decided by Canada's participation, even though said participation is appreciated. WWII was decided by the USA, England, and Russia. Take away Canada's participation and the allies still win the war. Take away the USA's and we're all speaking German right now.

ok, americans need to shut the fuck up about all the world wars. you only entered at the last possible second, when every country was tired, hurt, down and deep in the war. what did u do? nuke two inocent japanese islands? yea, great courage there. canada had the highest population-soldiers ratio in WW2, and were known to be in some of the most couragious and best soldiers by the end of the war. by the end we also had the second largest navy fleet in the world.

You could have attacked a base or something, but no. You must not have ever heard about the fire balloons the Japanese has set off on the U.S. mainland. It only killed six people, but the Japanese attacked our civilians first. In fact they tried air raids on forests in the northwest with the hope that the fires would spread and deter us from invading Japan. That was before we fire bombed Tokyo or dropped the atomic bombs. Its not like the allies, including Canada weren't bombing German cities either. Your still not making any sense.

Iwo Jima was an island. However, it was NOT nuked. it was invaded by the US Marines, and is the setting of the picture of the 5 servicemen raising the American flag. had we nuked the island, the Marines and sailors who raised the flag would die of radiation poisoning. Also, Nagasaki (Hiroshima is the other city) was not civilian entirely. those cities were chosen due to the factories and industry located in those cities. ive been wasting my time defending Canada, i guess, eh? hockey ftw

The Asian Holocaust as it was named is a term used loosely to describe the amount of civilians killed by the Japanese starting with the invasion of Mainland China. Over the period of occupation of East Asia they killed tens of millions of innocent Chinese. It's just not something people are taught about often. If you wikipedia it, you'll see that the Germans killed an estimated 6 million Jews and 20 million Russians, while the Japanese killed 23 million ethnic Chinese and 7 million others.

lol you obviously didnt watch the game. The Americans started it. After the 3rd goal on Canada one of your players came to are bench and did a "can you hear me" motion to the players. Then when Travares scored his beauty of a second goal he went over to the US bench and did the same thing. The Americans got pissed and clipped DiDomenico (and he totaly fell on purpose) and so did your American btw and that was a total oscar as well.

It was clever play by the Slovaks. They saw how Canada put the Americans off their game by annoying them in celebrations, so they did it (there was another goal where the Slovak player 'shhhhh''ed the American bench), and it worked.
