@ThrustRC Sadly, it is. They teach you this in a more confusing way so you THINK it's a super difficult class until you youtube it and remember learning it in 8th grade.
Thanks man!! This shit really helped me! I had already known how to find the vertex, but the other points I wasn't sure about. This will help me greatly with my exam.
whenever i do this im ending up with really high numbers. all im doing is plugging 3 where X is and im coming out with 26. Is this right? it seems so high
Thank you, i have just come from England and now i go to an American High school and i dont understand a lot well in math and well this example is what i have been taught in my Enlgish high school, argggg American High school make things so confusing
Thank you for making this for all the students who have terribly confusing teachers. This is so much more simple than what my teacher made it sound like.
Well, I'm not sure what your question refers to, but most of us would say something like "complete the square"? If so, divide the middle coefficient by 2 and square the result, the BOTH add and subtract the result.
So, y(x)=x^2+4x-3
y(x)=x^2+4x+(4/2)^2 - (4/2)^2 -3
y(x)=x^2+4x+2^2 - 2^2 - 3
y(x)=x^2 + 4x + 4 - 4 - 3
(factor the first 3 terms as a perfect square trinomial)
y(x) = (x+2)^2 - 7
So, if you were looking for the vertex it's (-2,-7) and goes up. Check out more at my website
HAHAHA, im getting this in 9th grade.

if the equation is a^2 - 25 = 0, the B would be 0 right? since there is no B? and x will become 0 as well?
