T Maxx 2.5 start up with fabricated str8 pipe exhaust

I'm selling a 3.3 tmaxx for 200 bucks, also got a jato 2.5 was a 3.3 but the motor went bad so that's why it has wat it does....I'll take 350 for the both n I'll throw in a tc3 nitro car n lots of extras...

@redangeleyes I did have the factory exhaust. Just thought I would straight pipe it just to see how it sounds. So I made one at work.I have a vid on here with a 3.3 I installed on my other maxx. I like it alot better.Plus with Traxxas trade in plan it's noway you can lose.Something happens to the engine? trade in.

quick question, my maxx still has the stock plastic pipe, now where the seem is where you put the 2 pieces together to make the pipe, at the bottom, theres a small leak, the motor wont stay lit for more than a few seconds, could that leak be an issure for starting and keep running? and if i have to get a new pipe than im screwd, any suggestions?

@TheNitroPsycho well the engine need proper air/gas mix to run but i dont think a crack in pipe would keep it from running more than a few secs. I would reset settings back to factory settings and re-tune.

@TheNitroPsycho yes I start with 4 turns from closed to start. Then once engine is warm and I make a few passes I open it up alil more to get the proper smoke.

But if you want looks sound and performance check out rd logics line of pipes i recommend a set of their dual exhaust i have a set on my tmaxx 4908 and its fuckin loud my neighbors hate me but i dont care. Also because they are aimed out the back you dont get that gas spray all over your rear tire and the side of your body.

nitro engines are two strokes. they need an expansion chamber to get full the potential of the engine. it might sound cool but it's actually hurting your performance.

The motor that turns the ez start has a red and black wire.Follow them all the way to the base where you use your ez start wand and clip them there so they will be long enough to connect to drill battery.You have to disconnect your glow plug wire and use a plug warmer.I use a hotshot. The drill battery should indicate + for positive and - for negative.connect your red wire from ez start motor to the (+) and your black wire from ez start motor to the (-).Hope this information helps you.

LOl i been following along with this exhaust then i rembered after reading skigelman's comment in tech class we learned thatthe pipe on a 2 stroke engine like the nitro ones like we enjoy running :) are fitted for compression in the engine. It helps the engine run and also the 2 stroke don't have any valves in them so some of the new fuel that enters during the exhaust stroke can get pushed out. But by adding the pipe it sends waves back to the engine helping with the fuel issue :)))) LOL

Mate, you will never get your TRX 2.5 tunned because you have ruined the fuel compresion system. Try connecting the compresion pipe near to the engine exhaust, but anyway I think that you'll have several problems tunning your engine if you decide to do no use the correct exhaust pipe.

Has you can see in my videos, I did the exhaust modification in my T-Maxx 3.3, but I didn't remove the original Resonator Chamber, so I have almost no problems tunning my engine.
