There are many ways to be an approved guest at The Walt Disney Studios. The first time we toured, we were invited by a Disney animator friend of ours. For this trip, a Disney Imagineering friend invited us. D23 members can also sign up for one of the frequent tours given to D23 members.
@kenijoe77 The Studios are only open to those who have been invited. There is no tour for the general public. If one has been approved to come in as a guest, then one can ask where the gift shop is located and then enter it and buy souveneers.

@kenijoe77 Yes, if you have approval to go inside The Walt Disney Studios you can go inside the gift shop and buy things.
