Gender differences. Boys need to scratch and fidget; the girls stand straight. The boys just need to be talked to about it and told to learn a little self discipline. Well done and nice to see Evensong (Vespers) celebrated.
Nice to hear choral evensong in an intimate setting as opposed to a cathedral, sadly in England most small churches don't even have said evensong anymore, let alone sung or choral. Good singing, would have liked to hear the responses as well.
Granted it would be better without the scratching and maybe the kid should be told to try not to do it. But an itch is harder for him to ignore than it should be for us to ignore a scratch. :)
If we could have these kids at our church, it would be wonderful! Itching and all!
