@765tony IDK about that but I know he was interviewed a few years ago and he admitted that he heard some of the murders (he actually saw poor Abigail getting ran down and stabbed on the lawn) and heard gun shots but he didn't say why he hadn't spoken up until now though.
@George Vreeland Hill (cont) What kind of loyal co-hort begs her accomplices to stop? She even lied to them "I hear people coming". So I don't think it was as much luck as it was Tex seeing Linda wasn't the killer the other two bitches were.
@George Vreeland Hill yes but Tex didn't send Linda back 2 the car & keep her out of the murders by accident. He sensed she just didnt have it in her to enter the house & stab people. He saw her hardcore negative reaction 2 the murder of Steven the driveway & he judged her suitability for the rest of the mission accordingly. Tex was even more off-base than he thought, because she ran onto the property begging them to stop killing.
This is not how it happened at all. This shows tex as being cool and calculated and knowing exactly what he was doing, and driving the car. In reality he was in the back lying down on one of the girls laps. He was high on speed, acid and belladonna and all he had going through his mind were the words of Charlie "kill everyone and make it as gruesome as possible" all he saw was vague forms that night, not people. Tex is a good guy, so are the girls manson manipulated their already drugged up stat
@5:45 Watson tells Kasabian to go back &wait by the car, because she had gone around the back of the house looking for any open doors. She emerged stating there was nothing open (in fact, there were a few doors and windows open - she hadn't really checked). So according to Watson he didn't believe she had it in her to carry out this mission of murder inside the house, so he sent her away. She was too nervous and upset & he couldn't trust her to enter the house & help kill the victims.
As a guy who remained freinds w/ an ex-girlfreind who I never really stopped loving to thos day, I can honestly empithise w/ Jay Sebring. Its painful, and difficult to keep a smiling face, especially when she is being betrayed/played like both Sharon, and (my) Pamela were. But ,at least Jay and Sharon are together in Heaven. May Polanski get what he truly deserves, not just for betraying Sharon, but for being an unrepentant and UNPUNISHED PEDOPHILE!
@765tony of course he did! I believe he befriended some of the Manson members as they partied at the house when sharon was in london. some believe that voytek burned Manson on a drug deal
@765tony i think your right tony..but only because it was 20 years later...this was the era of the hippies, free love, war, and a WHOLE NEW REALM of promise, hope and life...i have heard from many a family, friends, associates, and those back then who said, "MANSON KILLED THE HIPPIE LOVE ERA on August 8, 1969...true story
@tyamster I see what you're saying about how the 60s was the era of peace, love, hippies, protesting, etc but still, reality is reality and even then, there were crimes commited everday. The hippies were all mainstream/60s title so most of the crimes were behind the scene which is why so many people think that the 60s was so pure. Mansons family killed an actress which is the main reason the Mansons went public. Sharons publicity was there publicity. Still, life works even through the hippie era
I like the scene, where Sharon is saying saying goodnight to Roman on the phone, and Folger is watching Sharon with a look of jealousy on her face. At that point in time, everyone knew Folger and her boyfriend Voytek Frykowski were on rocky ground, so Folger probably felt some envy towards Sharon.
From what I know, Voytek and Folger were hardly on speaking terms just before the murders. And close friends claim how Folger was on the verge of getting Voytek out of her life, once and for all.
That question has always been in the back of my mind like where were the dogs? I know Sharon and Roman had some, and how come they were soo quiet with all the gun shooting and screaming around the house and the caretaker not hearing anything. To this day I always found that critical part of what happened soo fishy. The dogs being there could have alerted everyone in the house and maybe they would have been still alive or had time to defend themselves.
@Scene68 yes that is wierd .I heard sharon had just gotten a cat so the dogs were leashed, but no one hearing anything ?and aparently the guy in the tack house says he heard nothing was high and the volume was really loud on his stereo did they have headphones back then?these same questions bother me too.
I know it's not a perfect movie, but I like how they tie in some key parts of Kasabian's testimony VERY effectively, like the phone wires falling to the ground, and the way the other girls complained about how much it hurt their hands and heads to fight the victims, and Kasabian being all "what the fuckkity fuck fuck fuck???!!!" because I really do believe she was not as on board as the others were, and what they have said about her in the ensuing years supports this.
this is the dumbest movie i had ever seen in my life, wha fuked people, this proves how fucked up white ppl are and their of life is shit, atlest if showing someone killing someone make it look better than having a person stabing the fuk out the ppl, dumb fuking pp american fuckkkkkkkk USA U Suck America
@Gladiolas89 Well this is just an actor (McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy to be exact), and all of the actors who have portrayed Tex seem to be hot but in real life he really wasn't. I've seen pics and footage if him back then he wasn't hot in fact he was pretty scary looking.
The Dogs barking, nice touch. where were they when the gun shots rang out. The care taker had to hear something. Maybe when Manson went back to stage the bodys they had an encounter Manson knew there was a guest house. something doesn't fit. There has to be more to the story that we will never know.
@Ruckasman oh even tate's mom believes that the caretaker tipped manson off! sharon's car was in the shop and he was supposed to go to her friends overnight, he may have believed that sharon was away for the night
I've read almost every bit of information about the murders and one thing keeps coming to my mind. In Tate's house, how is it possible that no one in the house heard the 4 gunhots that took the life of Steven Parent and then how come neither Sharon, Jay or Abigail heard Frykowsky and Watson talking in the living room??
You set this woman up here to testify against me. And she tells you a sad story. How she has only taken every narcotic that is possible to take. How she has only stolen, lied, cheated and done everything that you have got there in that book.
But it is okay. she is telling the truth now. She wouldn't have any ulterior motive like immunity for seven counts of murder.
@fantaorangecan if you like to read, get the book "The Family"...can get it on Amazon for about $10. It goes through its twists and turns but keeps you pretty intrigued if you like conspiracy theories..and there are several. Some, i believe, not true, but what is written is Voy and Jay had both been up for about 4 days not just on MDA, but LSD and SPEED..which i believe could have helped in not overtaking them..i still want to know WHY DIDNT THE DOGS FREAK AND BARK!!!!!!!
true , that's Allison Smith playing Krenwinkle. Adorable actress with a long list of film, tv, and stage credits, including the daughter on Kate and Alley and she also starred as one of the original "Annie"s on Broadway as a kid. She is gorgeous and the real life Patricia Krenwinkle. could only be so lucky.
@gootenslog NOPE!!! sorry my bad... i got confused with the second murder... and yeah it was ridiculous putting such a pretty girl to portray a woman who was so ugly at her 20s...
@gootenslog shes very pretty but from what I remember seing sharon tate seemed more sweeter personality. where this lady seemed different.but shes beautiful like sharon was they did a good job on finding a match for the looks.
Except, her testimony matched all the physical evidence. There is no DNA evidence that would alter or affect her story or increase her guilt. If anything, DNA would corroborate the testimony presented by Linda Kasabian during the trial.
I dont get it why she wasnt lay off by Manson after the first murder but went along with the others again, and why she later was about to target another one the one which, apparently down to her lack of cooperation, didnt take place. I am not saying that she was forced, au contraire, nor did I say that she was tricked into it. But I may be wrong.
Nowhere, the case is confusing and apart from her acting as a wreck nothing indicates that she was forced or tricked to be in the wrong place. You said it yourself she ACTED as a wreck, and I read it as its been written. Only Manson can tell. During the trials Manson and the family put the hit on her, apparently in retaliation. But he couldnt implicate her as his second in command because he would admit his guilt and he never did.
ok poacher, so in other words, just as I suspected all along, YOU MADE IT ALL UP.
And I never said she was forced or tricked to be in the wrong place. If you actually knew what you were talking about, you would know that SHE has never claimed to have been forced, either.
Now, you have said finally something that really matters and is vital to the claims, if that is true, of course, unlike before, when you kept saying that Kasabian was a mental wreck, down to her participating in the crimes.
several key persons present involved in these crimes have stated that Kasabian was indeed very upset&quite horrified by what was happening, both on theTate property& in the car to Labianca. She still went along with it (which was wrong), but it is accurate to depict her as emotionally distraught because that's how she was behaving, according to the killers.
Where r u getting your "information" that she was acting as a leader,1/2 of a Manson-Kasabian leadership? Can u tell me where, exactly?
Given that she really has told the truth my ramblings are futile. And I dont want to see her in prison, it was all fucked up. If Tex killed Sharon, then Atkins killed no one. Why she got life then. Because she was closer than Kasabian when victims where being stabbed. How many yards one has to be away to be free? In the pictures she walks through halls singing and laughing. Kasabian wasnt singing, but sure she doesnt look remorseful in some of hers, cheerfull, i'd say
Susan Atkins physically restrained Sharon Tate, put her in a head lock, pulled her to the couch & HELD HER DOWN to stop her from moving so that Watson could stab her. Literally the blood squirted up from Tate's wounds and splashed onto Atkins. Educate yourself& get clear on who did what, etc. You are too uninformed to be spouting off claims such as you had about Kasabian or any1 else involved. Basing your wild claims ("Leader") on some old pics from the court halls? Ok, that makes a lot of sense.
She definitely said seeing Katie stab Sharon in one of her interviews I came across. Dont remember which, look up the net. That she didnt seem to act as a leader, so what, she was a very good actor. It helped her later. Her involvement and role in all crimes, except Hinnmans murder, suggests she was very useful. During, and after the crimes, when she deposited the wallet of a Labiana in a black restaurant. Why she was being constantly used by Manson if she was such a wreck.
she NEVER said she saw anyone stab Sharon. She never laid eyes on Sharon Tate, ever. You just keep coming up with more& more nonsense & with every post you try to excuse the mistakes & weakness of your last post. "So she didn't act like a leader.. So she didn't deal with weapons at LaBianca.." This is your pattern, you make a claim and then backtrack. You have absolutely NO idea what u r talking about a& ZERO credibility. "She was a leader" blah blah, just admit u r making all this BS up.
Yes, the knives at Labianca were from the kitchen. I overlooked it. But she was still there, in the car. Then she was out to target another murder. Whatever the outcome, her role in both crimes and one that didnt come about was that of a leader, overseer, not of a forlorn follower. I read that she saw Kathy killing Sharon, and then she pointed to Atkins. When she saw Kathy doing it she must have been close to, even if outdoors. what she told about Sharons death is contradictory.
wow, you are beyond misinformed. your entire argument is falling apart. there is not ONE person involved in these crimes who claims Linda acted as a leader. Who is "Kathy"? You must mean Katie. Katie didn't kill Sharon, Tex did. Kasabian never testified about Sharon's death because she never saw any of it. Everything you're saying is just wrong and (sorry)... stupid. You have the names, events, and details all confused. You know almost nothing about this case.
Tex was the executioner, but he was a puppet in the hands of Manson-Kasabian double during the murders. She distributed and collected knifes, which proves she was capable. If she became a nervous wreck after the first crime, why she was included in the second hit with the responsibility to distribute and collect the weapons and make sure no fingertips had been left? So what she didnt enter the house, she was supposed to supervise for Manson while others had no clue of her role.
why are you making this shit up? She distributed no knives on the 2nd night. Krenwinkel & Van Houten got the knives from the LaBianca kitchen, & no one collected after. Kasabian didn't wipe any fingerprints @ LaBianca. She was gone before the killers even entered the house. Wherever you are getting your info, it is chock full of nonsense. Tex was a puppet of LINDA? & Linda was on equal footing with MANSON? hahahaha! You have a vivid imagination. What's next, the motive involved space aliens?
Kasabian was there to make sure the job was done. She was Mansons extension at both crime scenes. She distributed knifes and collected them afterwards, acted very calm. I want to boldface BOTH CRIME SCENES. And she made sure not to smudge herself with blood. Then she surrendered soon after she had been indicted, signed a contract, and put on a show of her live. The others were just a doped cannon fodder
that is just complete B.S. and you know it. Manson's "extension"? he barely knew her. TEX WATSON was Manson's extension. She had nothing to do with weapons at the LaBianca house. She didn't enter the house & the killers retrieved their weapons from the kitchen, didn't collect them either because she had LEFT, She did not act "calm" on either night. Why would all the killers admit that she was a nervous wreck? Why would they make that up about her? You conspiracy nuts get crazier and crazier.
Linda Kasabian is a peice of shit..she may have not done the actual stabbing but she said HERSELF that she gave the knife to one of the girls..fuck that lowlife
I dont like how Sharon is being potrayed in this film, the girl looks like her kinda but she is seeming like a little bit of a bitch which is something Sharon wasnt.
while the occupants of the house were being killed, all she really did do was "stand around and watch" (& according to several of the killers, was indeed horrified by what she was watching). She admitted also throwing the weapons & clothing out the window once they drove off on Tex's orders. Of course it was WRONG of her to go along and not prevent the attacks, but she didn't attack, restrain, or impede the escape of any of the victims. Seems you want people to think she did these things? Why?
this entire scene is based on the eye witness testimony of a METH HEAD that lost custody for both of her children and went through 3 fucking husbands. this entire scene is MADE UP. who knows what really happened.
none of those things mean that she didn't really see what she testified to. Don't forget that the 3 people who did the killings say that Kasabian's courtroom account was accurate. linda wasn't into meth back then. she lost custody of one child when she ran from the manson people. she didn't have 3 husbands. get your facts straight. if you were in her shoes, i'd bet you would fall into a harder lifestyle or worse. there is some drama added to this scene but it is pretty close to reality.
she narced them out cuz she'd get released. thats why she told the story that she told. it wasn't because of some great conscience thing. it was a "get out of jail free card" and she played it and it put everyone BUT her in prison. she had an alliterative motive in giving her testimony that was not in conjecture with how her story has been Retold and resold to the public.Shes no ones hero. the way they show her in this film is down right Laughable.she was W/ them all the way till they got caught
I would agree with you if the other people present didn't support her story. They do. Right down to her being freaked out and scared. Her description of the events held up.
the other people present are all playing the game. they want to get out of prison so they go along with whatever the defense is telling them to. the reason why they go along with her story is because it paints them as crazed kids that were carrying out evil deeds directed to them by charlie. its a load of crap. they were trouble makers goin crazy starting fights where ever they went they got caught and the girl ratted them out. without her buillshit testimony they all would have been set free.
they all agree on how the crimes went down as part of a big coverup? bullshit. you read too many conspiracy books. & manson played a role in these crimes whether u accept it or not. he drove around w/ them the 2nd night & tied up the LaBianca couple. of course Bugliosi & the media exaggerated certain things but your version is a bigger load of crap than anything Bugliosi could have made up. Believing Manson is innocent & the case was all lies is so high school "edgy". youre such an outlaw, lol.
They are going along with the story because it paints charlie as the leader. it fits the prosecutors tale. so they go along wit it to try and paint themselves as innocent people that were brain washed by charlie.
none of that is any reason for them to lie about the details of the crimes themselves such as those presented in this clip. this movie is cheesy but essentially the progression of the events at the tate home is fairly accurate.
charlie had more of a leadership role than he has ever been willing to admit. if you buy his little "I'm so misunderstood" act then that's your problem. he's a con artist and he certainly conned you!
were you there? is there video evidence? photographic evidence? its all heresy dictated by bugliosi and the testimony of a narc. how can you accept what those two people working together against the defense in every possible manner as absolute truth? in my eyes these were idiots doing idiotic tings. manson was only haphazardly involved in that he was their hero.
listen, neither one of us was there. ive researched this case extensively & I used to be very skeptical of Bugliosi's story but the more I researched it the more I recognize that the explanation of events given on the witness stand by Kasabian was probably the closest to the truth we will ever get. Bugliosi exaggerated the Helter Skelter stuff but the way the crimes went down, who killed who, etc. as described by Kasabian is accurate. There is too much corroboration for her story to be all lies.
this is where you are wrong. manson was very much involved. he only THOUGHT he was keeping his hands clean. I have a feeling u aren't even fully aware of what linda actually testified to. she barely mentioned any of the helter skelter stuff. she testified to the details of the crimes. there isnt some massive cover-up wherein she fabricated testimony to match evidence. charlie DID send Tex to the house to kill the occupants. charlie DID tie up the labiancas & prepared them for slaughter.
I'm talking about how she went on to live her life after she was set loose. she sold out all of her friends to get a get out of jail free card. thats all. shes slime she deserves to be the one locked up in prison not her cohorts. they were all in on it they all should have payed the price. her bullshit story is what helped sell bugliosis bullshit case. without her they had nothing and so they got her to sing like a canary even though everyone and their mother knew it was bullshit;
so she deserves 2b locked up but watson and atkins don't? please. what a stupid thing to say. just because you call her story "bullshit" doesnt mean it's bullshit. "everyone & their mother" - that's just you making things up now. who cares if she sold out her friends, they were killers who deserved 2b sold out.
let me guess, manson's just a misunderstood old hippie who was railroaded, right? always an ulterior motive with people such as yourself. usually it involves sympathy 4 manson or atkins.
everyone but charlie deserves to be locked up. they kliled people. they deserve to be punished. Charlie was the leader but he never killed anyone with his bare hands. he deserved to do time but not as much time as the people that actually committed the crimes themselves.
charlie was a conspirator. he knew what he was doing as these crimes unfolded. if you believe his excuses and his bullshit then I am afraid you are the gullible one. not to mention he physically restrained the LaBianca couple. he also was an active participant in the murder of Donald Shea. He's a piece of shit who deserves exactly what he got.
i believe that conspirators should get less time then people that actually commit murder. because they can always disobey orders. unless you're talking about grand scale murder in which soldiers will face jail time if they disobey orders from the president.
well perhaps you should study california law and the concept of vicarious liability. It's become this cool hip thing to excuse Charlie and view him as a poor misunderstood scapegoat, people like you seem to get an anti-establishment kick out of it or something. but it's ignorant and disingenuous. Manson was a career criminal who knew how to play people. He knew exactly what he was doing & I'm not sorry that a peripheral like Kasabian was set free if it means he and the others are locked up.
OMG I am so glad you feel the same way I do. just happened to be glancing over the comments and this was the first one that caught my eye. I am so hoping you feel like I do about Kasabian too.
please, she was a part of that family, and she stood there and watched, and still went back with the family after. she might not have killed any one but she is just as sick as the rest of the manson family
i wanna know too...why the f*ck didn't the dogs bark!!They were 500 ft away from their masters being slaughtered!! Always a red flag!! And, according to some, Charlie came back in the early hours to "see what his children had done"..evidence proves it..where in the f*uck was not only the dogs, but Garretson as well?? hmmm?
Hey Goot-- if you like to read, check out a book called "The Family" by Ed Sanders. Talk about your conspiracy theories. DAMN!!! Don't read it at night alone...seriously some chapters scared the shit out of me!!! But definitely some interesting facts i have never heard before, especially the one where this was a drug burn revenge killing from a cell mate of Charlie's, and they came that night cos Sharon WAS NOT supposed to be there. A little "far out there" but still a great read.
Thanks, tyamster. I don't remember if I had read that one or not. I always make the mistake of reading these books at night also, and have a hard time sleeping afterwoods. My wife won't let me do that anymore.
@gootenslog oh trust me this book will keep you up at night!!! it is as freaky as this whole case could be after the fact, if that is possible...but knowing DNA and so much more these days it does prove a lot of inconsistencies with the original book...stuff that makes you realize Charlie and his zombies might have went back that night...and for the caretaker who hitchhiked down and a random person who picked him up said, "if i was u, i wouldnt go back to that house tonight",,,wtf??? yikes!!
You are right sir and if you read the police report and look at the blood evidence you will see this story is made up ,The murders never took place like the DA says. This is pure all American Bull Shit.
The blood evidence is something to consider. But what about the theory that Manson returned & Moved Sharon Outside. Susan says she went back in the house to get blood to write on the wall. With all that blood on the porch why would she go back in? Jays blood on the porch looks like a splatter.Sharons looks as if she was laying there and bled out. Sharons blood on the porch does look like something was moved with in the blood.
whoever made this movie really messed up some events! abigail said she was "flying out for her moms birthday" wtf it wasn't her moms birthday. abigail was flying out for her birthday to see her mom. her birthday was august 11th and she was murdered august 9th 2 days before her bithday, very sad.
Its an exploitation movie, so accuracy is the least important thing to the makers. They just wanted a rush-job sensationalist account to get into the cinemas as quick as possible after the killings to earn them a few dollars.
Sure it sucked big time, but don't tell me you didnt watch it right through from beginning to end!!
i hate the conversation that sharon and jay r having. they make him out 2 look like a creepy perv "so uh sharon wut wud we do if we were still 2gether?" i no i dnt tlk abt that with my ex girlfriends all day srsly lol
you people have no prove cuz you guys weren't there, and knowing what's going on, on ceilo drive that night, only the killers and the victms. Im sure God knew what going on ,he was there.
From the CBS Movie "Helter Skelter"...not the 1976 2-parter, but one made in the early 2000's. The newer movie focused more on the story of the Manson Family and the 1976 movie told more of Bugliosi's prosecution of the case.

Its entertainment so no one will ask why such powerful people like Folger were hanging around with people who deal drugs like Frykowski. Manson was not a loser, hell his friends were John Philips,Dennis Wilson, Neil Young, Terry Melcher. I mean, when would these people be considered losers. The Beach Boys recoreded his music and so did Guns and Roses. For a loser, Manson sure had some powerful friends. He also had friends in the Mob.
jerryw08, according to what I've read, Folger was into drugs big time, and was even financing the drugs, I forget what it was called, that Frykowski was planning on distributing only he died before it got off on the ground.Plus, JS was doing cocaine and was high constantly. The signs were on the wall that had he lived, he probably would of been an addict.I think that is why ST probably wouldn't even think of leaving RP to go back to JS as JS was hoping she would do.
Jerry, Abigail met Frykowski in NYC among the young arty crowd & through him became friends w/Roman, Sharon, and Sebring, she also invested in Sebrings business. Theres nothing strange or odd about it they were friends & ran around the Hollywood party scene. Theres no hidden conspiracy there that anyone is trying to hide. Youre really beginning to embarrass yourself, start producing some hardcore facts, maybe a website detailing your theories otherwise youre just coming off as a conspiracy nut.

None of this is true. Read the police files and follow the blood evidence and you will find all were killed outside the house and on the front porch. None of this ever happened, Susan Atkins made this up just like everything else she said about what happened at Cielo. There was never a stuggle, these people were shot and the only one who fought back was Folger. Sharon could not because she was pregnet, Jay, Steve and Voytec were all shot dead and then stabbed. Its all B.S. made up for us people.
After doing extensive research myself I would have to disagree with you. Sharons blood would be outside, It's her blood that was used to write pig on the front door.
i think its terrible how these people had all these plans the next morning and everything, and they didnt even no there lives were going 2 end in just minutres.
Used 2 run around some of the old stomping grounds of Manson, always bizarre! one of the strangest things I remember reading is if the dogs at the Tate house had been out that night, NONE of this would have ever happened!! Manson had no prob w/ human kill, but strictly forbade any harm to animals, esp dogs. Makes ya wonder what is random and what is fated. Sharon Tate did see a premonition of her own death a year b4 her own while staying at a mansion where an old movie star had committed suicide
They were I believe occult murders ordered by the Process Church of the Final Judgment.
What is strange is how Mr. Polanski (who positively portrayed devil worshippers in his films)and happened to be away that night could make a movie The Ninth Gate where occult murders take place and even have a body hung up. Strange how a man could direct sucha scene--wouldve reminded me of the night his wife died.
I would give everything I own to be there that night. I'd beat that punk Tex Watson's ass. Fuck these bitchs. These are a bunch a punk cowards at best. Killing people who have no way of defending themselves. I would love to meet Tex out in the street with no weapons but fists.Tex is a bitch, a coward and a woman beater. If you ever get out of jail Watson, I'm coming to see you and don't worry, I'll bring just my hands and won't kill you but you will get the ass kicking of you life.Coward
Actually a friend of mine beat Tex and Manson to near death in 1968..unfortunately the cops were coming-and he split. Of course he had no way to know what they wou;d do in 1969..but it still haunts him today...
this remake is better because it shows more detail of what transpired in the house, as well as the brutality of the acts, and the callousness of those involved. neither version was any great piece of acting, with the exception of railsback and davies takes on manson are quite good, i think davies captures the physicality of charles better. the shot of him explaining HS in the desert is so right on the money, it's eerie. this sadie is better, also; heartless and cruel, manipulative...
Katie was the name given to Patricia Krenwinkle by Charles Manson. He also called Susan Atkins "Sadie May Glutz" and Leslie van Houten "Leslie Sankston."
wow what a stupid retard denmarch is..... wow i dont know even know what to say to this idiot people like him need to be shot! u dont gotta be a nigger to stick wit ur friends or be by ur friend side or anyone side dumd idiot i hope you die
that poor dude-- the first one that got wacked. only 18. they didnt have central air in '69? in wealthy LA, no less? ok, this is linda kasabian's account. is she to be believed? c'mon. if she made it THAT far, shes capable of pulling the okie doke and bullshitting the historical record.
Kasabian saw the slaughter of 3 people from a few yards away and despite her horror did not call the police. You vote republican, and plan to vote for McCain, ignoring the continued slaughter of thousands of innocent men, women, and children. My take? You are far dirtier a rat than Linda Kasabian could ever hope to be. At least she finally came clean in the end. Will you? I wonder.
Who hit you over the head hitoverthehead? Our proud soldiers are in Iraq and other countries to defend our nation for terror loving terrorists. Where were you on 9/11? Probably smoking pot. You liberals make me sick.
foulmouth- im not voting mccain/palin (nor for obama) but thanks for your comment. what people dont realize is that the francs, brits, krauts, and dagos also benefit from the US stabilizing iraq.
This movie wasn't as good as Helter Skelter in the 1970s.
This movie also depicts Jay Sebring as kind of a mild-mannered putz. He was actually quite the stud, and the main character in "Shampoo" played by Warren Beatty, was based on Jay Sebring.
The dialogue between Voytek and Abigail is probably inaccurate as well. They seem to be very lovey dovey bickering lovers in this, however it has been said that the two were barely on speaking terms by August of 69. Also the exchange between Parent and Garretson seems to not jive. Garretson says he was both surprised and annoyed to see Parent show up unannounced. In this movie it seems that they were old friends.
While Sharon is saying goodnight to Roman on the phone, Gibby watches Sharon like she is maybe a bit envious of the relationship. Voy and Gibby were not getting along at the time.
The woman playing Sharon is all wrong. She plays her like a soap opera ice bitch which Sharon definitely was not. The dialogue when Sharon and Jay are sitting on the bed makes one cringe, it's so bad.
This movie is the new 2004 version of "Helter Skelter" starring Jeremy Davies as Manson and directed by John Gray. The original "Helter Skelter" was made in 1976 and starred Steve Railsback as Manson. They have the same title, but this one is the remake. You can rent it at Blockbuster.
I think that OJ walked out on a simple vice of procedure. One of the detectives notably made racist remarks during the trial. This destroyed part of the evidence, which was not perfect to start with since OJ acted alone. Manson, on the contrary, was surrounded by a bunch of dopeheads including almost retarded S. Atkins who bragged about the Tate murder to a cell mate while she was imprisoned for car theft. This has nothing to do with black or white juries, Shiv. You make me sick by the way.

Linda was lucky that Tex sent her back to the car.
If she had been a part of the action, then she would be in jail today.
It is a shame that the murders had to happen.
All because of one nut.
It is also a shame that the killers have been allowed to live all these years while their victims have been in graves.
The death penalty should have stayed in place until Manson and his "family" were put to death.
If any people needed to die, they did.

@GeorgeVreelandHill Damn, you're commenting on every manson video i go to. ha are you like a lawyer or something?
fannicoleely 7 months ago
@George Vreeland Hill yes but Tex didn't send Linda back 2 the car & keep her out of the murders by accident. He sensed she just didnt have it in her to enter the house & stab people. He saw her hardcore negative reaction 2 the murder of Steven the driveway & he judged her suitability for the rest of the mission accordingly. Tex was even more off-base than he thought, because she ran onto the property begging them to stop killing.
613leaderclint 4 months ago

@765tony i think your right tony..but only because it was 20 years later...this was the era of the hippies, free love, war, and a WHOLE NEW REALM of promise, hope and life...i have heard from many a family, friends, associates, and those back then who said, "MANSON KILLED THE HIPPIE LOVE ERA on August 8, 1969...true story
tyamster 11 months ago

The only reason the story is told like this, is because Kasabian's testimony was needed to convict the others.
In the age of DNA evidence she would be in jail alongside her friends Susan Atkins, Krenwinle, and Van Houton, she is just as guilty.
Oh, maybe she just "loaned Atkins her knife".
spinach1999 2 years ago 4
Except, her testimony matched all the physical evidence. There is no DNA evidence that would alter or affect her story or increase her guilt. If anything, DNA would corroborate the testimony presented by Linda Kasabian during the trial.

I dont get it why she wasnt lay off by Manson after the first murder but went along with the others again, and why she later was about to target another one the one which, apparently down to her lack of cooperation, didnt take place. I am not saying that she was forced, au contraire, nor did I say that she was tricked into it. But I may be wrong.
poacher701 2 years ago
Nowhere, the case is confusing and apart from her acting as a wreck nothing indicates that she was forced or tricked to be in the wrong place. You said it yourself she ACTED as a wreck, and I read it as its been written. Only Manson can tell. During the trials Manson and the family put the hit on her, apparently in retaliation. But he couldnt implicate her as his second in command because he would admit his guilt and he never did.
poacher701 2 years ago
ok poacher, so in other words, just as I suspected all along, YOU MADE IT ALL UP.
And I never said she was forced or tricked to be in the wrong place. If you actually knew what you were talking about, you would know that SHE has never claimed to have been forced, either.
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
Now, you have said finally something that really matters and is vital to the claims, if that is true, of course, unlike before, when you kept saying that Kasabian was a mental wreck, down to her participating in the crimes.
poacher701 2 years ago
several key persons present involved in these crimes have stated that Kasabian was indeed very upset&quite horrified by what was happening, both on theTate property& in the car to Labianca. She still went along with it (which was wrong), but it is accurate to depict her as emotionally distraught because that's how she was behaving, according to the killers.
Where r u getting your "information" that she was acting as a leader,1/2 of a Manson-Kasabian leadership? Can u tell me where, exactly?
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
Given that she really has told the truth my ramblings are futile. And I dont want to see her in prison, it was all fucked up. If Tex killed Sharon, then Atkins killed no one. Why she got life then. Because she was closer than Kasabian when victims where being stabbed. How many yards one has to be away to be free? In the pictures she walks through halls singing and laughing. Kasabian wasnt singing, but sure she doesnt look remorseful in some of hers, cheerfull, i'd say
poacher701 2 years ago
Susan Atkins physically restrained Sharon Tate, put her in a head lock, pulled her to the couch & HELD HER DOWN to stop her from moving so that Watson could stab her. Literally the blood squirted up from Tate's wounds and splashed onto Atkins. Educate yourself& get clear on who did what, etc. You are too uninformed to be spouting off claims such as you had about Kasabian or any1 else involved. Basing your wild claims ("Leader") on some old pics from the court halls? Ok, that makes a lot of sense.
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
She definitely said seeing Katie stab Sharon in one of her interviews I came across. Dont remember which, look up the net. That she didnt seem to act as a leader, so what, she was a very good actor. It helped her later. Her involvement and role in all crimes, except Hinnmans murder, suggests she was very useful. During, and after the crimes, when she deposited the wallet of a Labiana in a black restaurant. Why she was being constantly used by Manson if she was such a wreck.
poacher701 2 years ago
she NEVER said she saw anyone stab Sharon. "She was a leader" blah blah, just admit u r making all this BS up.
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
Yes, the knives at Labianca were from the kitchen. I overlooked it. But she was still there, in the car. Then she was out to target another murder. Whatever the outcome, her role in both crimes and one that didnt come about was that of a leader, overseer, not of a forlorn follower. I read that she saw Kathy killing Sharon, and then she pointed to Atkins. When she saw Kathy doing it she must have been close to, even if outdoors. what she told about Sharons death is contradictory.
poacher701 2 years ago
wow, you are beyond misinformed. your entire argument is falling apart. there is not ONE person involved in these crimes who claims Linda acted as a leader. Who is "Kathy"? You must mean Katie. Katie didn't kill Sharon, Tex did. Kasabian never testified about Sharon's death because she never saw any of it. Everything you're saying is just wrong and (sorry)... stupid. You have the names, events, and details all confused. You know almost nothing about this case.
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
Tex was the executioner, but he was a puppet in the hands of Manson-Kasabian double during the murders. She distributed and collected knifes, which proves she was capable. If she became a nervous wreck after the first crime, why she was included in the second hit with the responsibility to distribute and collect the weapons and make sure no fingertips had been left? So what she didnt enter the house, she was supposed to supervise for Manson while others had no clue of her role.
poacher701 2 years ago
why are you making this shit up? She distributed no knives on the 2nd night. Krenwinkel & Van Houten got the knives from the LaBianca kitchen, & no one collected after. Kasabian didn't wipe any fingerprints @ LaBianca. She was gone before the killers even entered the house. Wherever you are getting your info, it is chock full of nonsense. Tex was a puppet of LINDA? & Linda was on equal footing with MANSON? hahahaha! You have a vivid imagination. What's next, the motive involved space aliens?
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
Kasabian was there to make sure the job was done. She was Mansons extension at both crime scenes. She distributed knifes and collected them afterwards, acted very calm. I want to boldface BOTH CRIME SCENES. And she made sure not to smudge herself with blood. Then she surrendered soon after she had been indicted, signed a contract, and put on a show of her live. The others were just a doped cannon fodder
poacher701 2 years ago
that is just complete B.S. and you know it. You conspiracy nuts get crazier and crazier.

while the occupants of the house were being killed, all she really did do was "stand around and watch" (& according to several of the killers, was indeed horrified by what she was watching). She admitted also throwing the weapons & clothing out the window once they drove off on Tex's orders. Of course it was WRONG of her to go along and not prevent the attacks, but she didn't attack, restrain, or impede the escape of any of the victims. Seems you want people to think she did these things? Why?
guggenheimmatron 2 years ago
this entire scene is based on the eye witness testimony of a METH HEAD that lost custody for both of her children and went through 3 fucking husbands. this entire scene is MADE UP. who knows what really happened.
oldhacks 2 years ago
none of those things mean that she didn't really see what she testified to. Don't forget that the 3 people who did the killings say that Kasabian's courtroom account was accurate. linda wasn't into meth back then. she lost custody of one child when she ran from the manson people. she didn't have 3 husbands. get your facts straight. if you were in her shoes, i'd bet you would fall into a harder lifestyle or worse. there is some drama added to this scene but it is pretty close to reality.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
she narced them out cuz she'd get released. thats why she told the story that she told. it wasn't because of some great conscience thing. it was a "get out of jail free card" and she played it and it put everyone BUT her in prison. she had an alliterative motive in giving her testimony that was not in conjecture with how her story has been Retold and resold to the public.Shes no ones hero. the way they show her in this film is down right Laughable.she was W/ them all the way till they got caught
oldhacks 2 years ago
I would agree with you if the other people present didn't support her story. They do. Right down to her being freaked out and scared. Her description of the events held up.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
the other people present are all playing the game. they want to get out of prison so they go along with whatever the defense is telling them to. the reason why they go along with her story is because it paints them as crazed kids that were carrying out evil deeds directed to them by charlie. its a load of crap. they were trouble makers goin crazy starting fights where ever they went they got caught and the girl ratted them out. without her buillshit testimony they all would have been set free.
oldhacks 2 years ago
they all agree on how the crimes went down as part of a big coverup? bullshit. you read too many conspiracy books. & manson played a role in these crimes whether u accept it or not. he drove around w/ them the 2nd night & tied up the LaBianca couple. of course Bugliosi & the media exaggerated certain things but your version is a bigger load of crap than anything Bugliosi could have made up. Believing Manson is innocent & the case was all lies is so high school "edgy". youre such an outlaw, lol.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
They are going along with the story because it paints charlie as the leader. it fits the prosecutors tale. so they go along wit it to try and paint themselves as innocent people that were brain washed by charlie.
end of discussion
oldhacks 2 years ago
none of that is any reason for them to lie about the details of the crimes themselves such as those presented in this clip. this movie is cheesy but essentially the progression of the events at the tate home is fairly accurate.
charlie had more of a leadership role than he has ever been willing to admit. if you buy his little "I'm so misunderstood" act then that's your problem. he's a con artist and he certainly conned you!
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
were you there? is there video evidence? photographic evidence? its all heresy dictated by bugliosi and the testimony of a narc. how can you accept what those two people working together against the defense in every possible manner as absolute truth? in my eyes these were idiots doing idiotic tings. manson was only haphazardly involved in that he was their hero.
oldhacks 2 years ago
listen, neither one of us was there. ive researched this case extensively & I used to be very skeptical of Bugliosi's story but the more I researched it the more I recognize that the explanation of events given on the witness stand by Kasabian was probably the closest to the truth we will ever get. Bugliosi exaggerated the Helter Skelter stuff but the way the crimes went down, who killed who, etc. as described by Kasabian is accurate. There is too much corroboration for her story to be all lies.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
this is where you are wrong. manson was very much involved. he only THOUGHT he was keeping his hands clean. I have a feeling u aren't even fully aware of what linda actually testified to. she barely mentioned any of the helter skelter stuff. she testified to the details of the crimes. there isnt some massive cover-up wherein she fabricated testimony to match evidence. charlie DID send Tex to the house to kill the occupants. charlie DID tie up the labiancas & prepared them for slaughter.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago 2
I'm talking about how she went on to live her life after she was set loose. she sold out all of her friends to get a get out of jail free card. thats all. shes slime she deserves to be the one locked up in prison not her cohorts. they were all in on it they all should have payed the price. her bullshit story is what helped sell bugliosis bullshit case. without her they had nothing and so they got her to sing like a canary even though everyone and their mother knew it was bullshit;
oldhacks 2 years ago
so she deserves 2b locked up but watson and atkins don't? please. what a stupid thing to say. just because you call her story "bullshit" doesnt mean it's bullshit. "everyone & their mother" - that's just you making things up now. who cares if she sold out her friends, they were killers who deserved 2b sold out.
let me guess, manson's just a misunderstood old hippie who was railroaded, right? always an ulterior motive with people such as yourself. usually it involves sympathy 4 manson or atkins.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
everyone but charlie deserves to be locked up. they kliled people. they deserve to be punished. Charlie was the leader but he never killed anyone with his bare hands. he deserved to do time but not as much time as the people that actually committed the crimes themselves.
oldhacks 2 years ago
charlie was a conspirator. he knew what he was doing as these crimes unfolded. if you believe his excuses and his bullshit then I am afraid you are the gullible one. not to mention he physically restrained the LaBianca couple. he also was an active participant in the murder of Donald Shea. He's a piece of shit who deserves exactly what he got.
catsclawhammer 2 years ago
i believe that conspirators should get less time then people that actually commit murder. because they can always disobey orders. unless you're talking about grand scale murder in which soldiers will face jail time if they disobey orders from the president.
oldhacks 2 years ago
well perhaps you should study california law and the concept of vicarious liability.

You are right sir and if you read the police report and look at the blood evidence you will see this story is made up ,The murders never took place like the DA says. This is pure all American Bull Shit.
jerryw08 2 years ago
The blood evidence is something to consider. But what about the theory that Manson returned & Moved Sharon Outside. Susan says she went back in the house to get blood to write on the wall. With all that blood on the porch why would she go back in? Jays blood on the porch looks like a splatter.Sharons looks as if she was laying there and bled out. Sharons blood on the porch does look like something was moved with in the blood.
dvs1572 2 years ago
I wouldn't go as far to say made up. I'd say their are some things the directly contradict the killers story. Some of this is true.

whoever made this movie really messed up some events! abigail said she was "flying out for her moms birthday" wtf it wasn't her moms birthday. abigail was flying out for her birthday to see her mom. her birthday was august 11th and she was murdered august 9th 2 days before her bithday, very sad.
SkEpKiDD 3 years ago 3
Its an exploitation movie, so accuracy is the least important thing to the makers. They just wanted a rush-job sensationalist account to get into the cinemas as quick as possible after the killings to earn them a few dollars.
Sure it sucked big time, but don't tell me you didnt watch it right through from beginning to end!!

He also had friends in the Mob.
jerryw08 3 years ago
cuz she was a friend of sharon's. that's why
crisvanfan 3 years ago
jerryw08, according to what I've read, Folger was into drugs big time, and was even financing the drugs, I forget what it was called, that Frykowski was planning on distributing only he died before it got off on the ground.Plus, JS was doing cocaine and was high constantly. The signs were on the wall that had he lived, he probably would of been an addict.I think that is why ST probably wouldn't even think of leaving RP to go back to JS as JS was hoping she would do.
ProudKansan08 3 years ago

Its all B.S. made up for us people.
jerryw08 3 years ago
After doing extensive research myself I would have to disagree with you. Sharons blood would be outside, It's her blood that was used to write pig on the front door.

@tyamster oh god really where did you see or read this how creepy.poor sharon.
annahudson76 11 months ago
They were I believe occult murders ordered by the Process Church of the Final Judgment.
What is strange is how Mr. Polanski (who positively portrayed devil worshippers in his films)and happened to be away that night could make a movie The Ninth Gate where occult murders take place and even have a body hung up. Strange how a man could direct sucha scene--wouldve reminded me of the night his wife died.

@sagebrushpatriot youve got to be kidding me he made those movies after the murders what the hell is wrong with him!

Linda Kasabian was/is a dirty rat. She should be doing life behind bars herself.
foulmouthfromsouth 3 years ago
Kasabian saw the slaughter of 3 people from a few yards away and despite her horror did not call the police. You vote republican, and plan to vote for McCain, ignoring the continued slaughter of thousands of innocent men, women, and children. My take? You are far dirtier a rat than Linda Kasabian could ever hope to be. At least she finally came clean in the end. Will you? I wonder.

Voy and Gibby were not getting along at the time.
cranemommy71123 3 years ago

Linda started the car, considered driving away, then they came. "They looked like zombies," Linda said.
