I just listened to Carrie sing this song live at 3 different places live on youtube and she definitely has a great voice and sings it well, but there's no passion. But when Kelly sings it, WOW! it's magic and you can tell she feels it. The emotion is definitely the difference. I'd listen to Kelly's version over Carrie's any day.

I don't mind this version of the song, it's a bit more chilled out than the original. Carrie puts more power into it, simply because that's how it's meant to be performed. It's her song. For those that claim that she "screams" it, I strongly suggest that you learn the musical definition of "belting". Oh, and grow up in the process.
I'm able to enjoy both versions of the song. Carrie by a whisker, simply because vocally she's superior to anyone in the industry today.
