  • The English version is spoiled by being shorter than the Spanish and Italian versions.

  • Just in case anyone is wonder, "Alle porte del sole" i love the english version just as much as the italian

  • Che magifica!

I am Italian and simply adore this woman's magic. I am also virtually a native English speaker. I can truly say that her English version is as appealing as her other renditions. Her residual Italian accent in the English version just makes this version all the more delectable.

  • This woman is A M A Z I N G

  • wow I have listend to Al's version many times I love the arangment of this version better than Al's the strings at the end are what have me sold

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful post. I have heard Al Martino's version of this beautiful song but I love this version.

  • Molto favolosa la Gigliola Cinquetti,

    Le sue parole ... poesia

  • Thanks for the video of this fantastic song with marvelous Gigliola: very fascinating version.

  • To all who have commented that they prefer the Italian version better, I have to agree with you, I do to, something magical and mysterious about it.

  • i love this song

  • great, but I prefer the italian and spanish version...there's also a French one, but dunno how's the name.

  • I must admit that there is something magical any mysterious about the Italian version which is after all her native language, but I think it is so nice that she recorded different language versions for her many admirers around the world.

  • I am italian and i think that Italian version of this fantastic song is wonderful, but the English version is very nice, because english language is excellent for the songs. Spanish version too is amazing.

  • The version I heard in the early '70s was by Al Martino. Verses in English, first chorus in Italian, second chorus half English, half Italian. Thanks to Coniff44 (and YouTube,) for posting this version, which I'd never heard before. She has a wonderful voice, and the classic beauty that makes men around the world glad that they are men around the world!

  • A wonderful comment dm, especially the last bit. How true.

  • Everything Gigliola recorded is excellent. She has a very sweet voice and she selected very good lyrics every time. And on top of that she had always a good orchestra.

  • I've never heard this in English. I used to listen to the Italian version in the 1970s in Austria. Thanks for posting this because it brings back some nice memories. I also feel that the Italian version is better, but the English version is not really that bad. Mille grazie per la canzone.

  • que epocaaa

  • I must have searched for this for more than 35 years!I heard it once many years ago, didn't catch the name and after that, at times, unsuccessfully tried to find the song. Wow! It is as beautiful as when I first heard it at the age of 14!

  • I also like this song but I think the Italian version is much better. What a coincidence ! I was 14 too, and very much in love with a beautiful girl. Best to you.

  • WOW! Nunca habia escuchado esta version en ingles, pero si en espanol e italiano... Que bonita cancion en la voz de esta cantante que fue mi favorita en mi infancia!! Gracias por ponerla en este lugar y tener acceso a los recuerdos de una manera brillante.

  • I have the vinyl album this song is on

  • I wish Gigliola had made a full album in English. That would have been superb.
