Angela is the only stylist that my mother and I allow to touch our hair. She is a miracle worker. In September of 2010 we discovered her videos on YouTube. I decided to have her do the brazilian blowout on my hair in December of 2010. At this time my hair was severely damage from color treatment and the freezing temperatures my hair endures while I attend school in North Dakota. My hair only reached the top of my ears!!! But now with Angela's magic touch my hair is so full that I am often asked
@Snowball636 Oh yes, if you have black hair do not dry your hair then apply the keratin. 1;You must apply Keratin on damp hair section in 6. 2;Massage each section for two minutes. 3;Then go back over each section again and comb through. 4; Hair dry each section on a low heat. When completely dry you can leave the hair alone or if your wish to flat iron your hair. I never flat iron because only want a nice transition from relax to natural..
Great video. I found a Company that offers Hair Stylists the best wholesale prices in the Country guaranteed for custom made human hair pieces and lace wigs. Cindycut.com 888-596-4247
Even on the news; compared to any other source, this is the most THOROUGH report on both Brazilian Blowouts, and formaldehyde. I commend you on all that you do, and I wish you much continued success in life. I have a question -- have you ever done a blowout on a man? Ive always wanted to get one, but dont plan on growing my hair longer than 4 or 5 inches.
Very informative! If I was still stationed in California I would definitely have you give me a BB. You seem to really know what you're talking about. Thanks for the video!
Unfortunately we have been led to believe that the FDA and other governmental "environmental" agencies have our best interests at heart when they set these levels for "safe exposure" to chemicals. It has been proven time and time again that this is not the case (anyone remember DDT?) Any amount of formaldehyde is too much for me, that's why I'm changing alot of the products I use. Thanks for the vid, though. It was informative.
i am seriously interested in getting certified in Brazilian Blowouts.. i, too, am a licensed cosmetologist for 16 1/2 yrs, and i've been wanting to do something in place, or addition to, convential relaxing.. how & where did you get certified? would love to share tips/tricks/infos w/ya.. thanx & god bless! :)
the risk of this treatment seeking in ppls scalp sitting breathing it in while u put it in is same risk like perm over the years a build up on the skull yeah looks good and probable saving blk. ppl. life not 2 have it market 2 them everything is not 4 every body I still believe these folk whose pg. I visit that have the bad experience from BKT
Get the straight facts along with lovely, smooth hair! Without the proper ventilation cosmetologists may be over exposed to excessive levels of formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde, so they should invest in an efficient ventilation system. A "Chemical Source Capture System" removes these potentially harmful vapors from the breathing zone of both the stylist and client. Search "Chemical Source Capture System", "Hair Smoothing Controversy" or "Preferred BKT Ventilation" for additional information.
One reason that I'm hesitant to get the Brazilian Blow Out is because I've been told by two hair stylist that my hair is already more curly than kinky and therefore I won't see a dramatic difference. I know that you don't know what my hair looks like, I'd say 3C-4A. But I have a lot of it, lol.
I got a BKT done in my hair was frizzy in as little as three days. About 3 inches of my roots have reverted back to natural. It is now two weeks after the treatment and it looks like I need another and I have experienced sheading. I wanted your opinion.
Should I get another treatment? Or did my stylist didnt do it right? Lastly, is there a difference between a brazilian blow out and a brazilian keratin treatment?
Hi Angela. I've been relaxer free for about 14 months. I cut off quite a bit of my hair as relaxer grew out; none left in my hair. When straight my hair is @ middle of my neck. I've had the Marcia Texeria (spelling??) Brazilian about 4 times in about last 8 months. My stylist is certified to apply this product and does a beautiful job & I have loved it thus far; but I'm having to get it quite often because of new growth (which is good); and in between getting the treatments my hair is really bu
As long as the formelahyde is under a certain amount, companies are allowed to say it's formelahyde free but they still have formelahyde in them it's just a lower amount. Look it up.
why hasn't this product been offered to african americans , ?? i thought you don't put it all the scalp ? are you afraid to say FORMALDHYDE , does it have it in there
Love this video! It was very informative, very honest and it spoke to me. I learned that no matter what, there is always gona be haters and you can't please every body. Keep doing these videos please. I'm glad I found it and will be contacting you soon.
Washing hair every 2 weeks? Wouldn't you're hair get very greasy. I am also a mixed race (I'm not American though I'm Canadian) but with ringlette/tight bouncy curls and I still have to wash my hair every 2nd or 3rd day. Or else it's tooo greasy for me! Is there a certain reason why African Americans dont need/have to wash their hair so frequently....just curious? :)
Actually I am changing what I recommend. I do think we should at least wash our hair once a week for several reasons. I have no idea where the washing your hair every two weeks came from. When i was a kid we got our hair done every saturday. I have come around to believe our hair will grow more and be in better condition if it is clean
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I have never had any kind of perm or weave and my hair is very long. I've started wanting to wear my hair naturally curly but found that it takes forever to do and results vary. My mom has remained protective of my hair and I rly wish I could visit your salon. I wanted to ask if this treatment makes your haircolor fade/ look differently and if this product helps with shrinkage while wearing naturally curly hair. I couldnt find info for black ppl before so thanks a lot!
Angela, thanks for a gr8 effort. plz go to silk2 com and register as a professional. Then contact customer service and let them know that you have registered. There are numerous very questionable comments made in this video. We can help you better understand the effects of keratin products on the hair of Afro Americans. We have done more research on African American hair types than any other company in the industry. We would like to help you help your clients with more accurate info.
You have to try Wen by Chaz Dean. I have tried the whole product line, but ultimately I find Fig to be a perfect match for my hair type. I swear I will never use any traditional shampoo or conditioner ever again. Although, I do occasionally try other brands now and again, which claim to be better for your hair because they are sulfate free, but none are satisfactory. This product is perfect for the Brazilian Blowout
I wish I had a hairstylist like yourself. So informative and professional. This looks like a great option for my natural hair. I just saw a news report on the chemicals used in this process and banning some ingredients. Be careful God Bless
@DrJekyll10000 Everything causes cancers these days, hair color , ultraviolet rays, processed foods, plastics...so as far as I know we are all already in the high risk cancer zone
@AngelaTheStylistAngela, I'm curious, how much formaldehyde is in Johnsons shampoo? Because it's all about the level. There is an acceptable amount of formaldehyde that can be in cosmetics. In Canada the number is less than 0.2%. But government testing found the formaldehyde level in BB to be 12%. That's huge. Now, what does formaldehyde do? It cross-links DNA, which leads to apoptosis (cell suicide) and can end in cancer. In my uni dissection courses it's used to bathe cadavers for preservation
@AlexXavierWright You're right, 1 in 2 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime now, a lot of it to do with products and food that corporations sell us. I think it's outrageous that we're so accepting of that. We should be demanding that corporations create products that don't give women cancer. We're literally willing to die for beauty. And BB is more than just "suspected" to give you cancer; it is now classified as a _known_ carcinogen, akin more to asbestos than to plastic.
did you know that formaldehyde is also in Johnsons baby shampoo I have done my homework look out for my video on the list of things formaldehyde is found in you will be surprised
@AngelaTheStylist but there is 0.1% of Formaldehyde which is harmless, but the brazilian blowout chemicals have 7 to 10% of formaldehyde which is why your eyes get irritated
Thank you for taking time to upload this video. I really enjoyed this video. You are very beautiful. I learned a lot. You are getting Black-American women excited about the eco-friendly, natural (plant based) Brazilian blowout. Please do not pay attention to or reply to negative comments or racial slurs. If you say anything offensive, rude, or angry you can lose jobs & companies will not ant to work w/ you. You seem proper (classy) & professional. Keep up the good work. Have a great day.
I'm new to the Brazilian blowout. What is the diffents between the Brazilian blowout and the Keritin blowout? I understand that the Brazilian can be used on afro American hair, but can yup put it on a client that already have a relaxer on their hair, or do the relaxer have to be Moore than half grown out of the clients hair
I love your videos. Really good work. No one on here has videos with work process as clear as you. Keep up the awesome work. And you're not a racist. I appreciate your clarity with your videos and showing the type and thickness of the hair in your videos. Thanks again! ;o)
i'm seriously considering a brazilian blowout(: i have african american hair & i do have a question. with the blowout, would my hair curl up nicely when it's wet?
I would like to see someone whos had a blowout for four months and see what the texture is like. I keep hearing that your natural texture does not exist afterwards. (of course the diehard naturalist have a problem with the blowout) I think its something that Im looking for!
I also noticed that there is another video on products to maintain the blowout. Im not sure but the products are in the same color container. Do you provide those products? The video is Brazilian Blowout after care how to by:ilovegerardo. Thanks in advance.
Hi Angela!! I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to clear up the confusion in reference to the Brazilian Blowout (BB). I am a cosmetologist in Columbus Ohio and, I too, have been certified to provide the BB to my clients. I have had wonderful results on my clients' hair, african american as well as other ethnicities and I have the BB in my hair as well. Your honesty is so refreshing and I totally relate to you when it comes to healthy hair care, May God continue to bless you!!
I really like your video, this confirms all my questions I had about the blowout treatment. I have been natural for 5 years now and I am scared to use any product that mirrors a perm, so I am glad you did this video to confirm the true effects of the blowout. I am excited for my first blowout treatment next week, I hope I do lose my curl pattern!
I want my hair straight and I'm thinking about the Brazilian Blowout. It seems like this is what I'm looking for. Thank You so much for this tutorial. I wish I could come to where you are. I'm in Ohio. Any suggestion as to where I should go near me. I think I know I should make sure the person is a certified Brazilian Blowout certified person. Again Thanks for this information. God Bless you AngelaTheStylist.
OMG OMG, I have been natural for 2 1/2 yrs now. I love my hair and since Nov. or Dec. of last yr I have only used Hydatherma Naturals (I found her here on Youtube as well) Products and I love them . I just hate that my hair sweats out in one day. My daughter has been Natural for One year longer than me. (I decided to follow her after I saw how her hair was coming out) In 2008 I took clippers and shaved all my hair off. I have a pictures on my facebook page called my hair journey.
do you have to you use the brazilian blowout products in order to sustain the straightening process. What is you have color on or getting color on your hair do you have to wait before you get the treatment?
do you have to you use the brazilian blowout products in order to sustain the straightening process. What is you have color on or getting color on your hair do you have to wait before you get the treatment?
Thanks for the video! I saw your previous videos and it was really sad to see so many uninformed people trying to attack you and your services and they haven't done their research.
From1 licensed stylist 2 another; I’m having difficulties w/the terminology & references. In cosmetology we r not taught (skin)color but (hair)texture! most r having problems w/the comment, “true African American(AA) Hair”. My parents r AA & all their children have different textures of hair & 1 being curlier or coarser than the other does not make 1s hair more “AA” than the other. I think better wording when explaining it may make the product more acceptable 2 those who aren’t familiar w/it!
Excellent information Angela. I have been performing the Brazilian Blowout on both African American Clients as well as bi-racial and all other hair types as well for the past 2 years. I totally agree with your presentation. Thank You,
'smoke' coming off the hair is just moisture from the hair. if alot of conditioner is used or if the conditioner is very condentrated u get more steam when blowdrying
thank you for the video....I have a brazilian blowout....i wasnt completely satisfied but i will try again....perhaps it will be better second time around.....
Angela you truly are a genius!!! The Brazilian blowout is the best thing that has ever happened to my hair in 19 years =)...Even though I just got my hair done yesterday..I love it and so do all of my friends! My hair is silky, soft and so manageable. If anyone has questions or wants to see before and after photos feel free to send them my way.
Thank you for sharing information on Brazilian Blowout!Ur right it was never marketed for AA hair! That is why i always had a negative thoughts about it.I think i'm going to look more into having it done, kinda getting tired of the press, lol.Your hair looks great:)
I just LOOOVE your professionalism

(I decided to follow her after I saw how her hair was coming out) In 2008 I took clippers and shaved all my hair off. I have a pictures on my facebook page called my hair journey.

'smoke' coming off the hair is just moisture from the hair. if alot of conditioner is used or if the conditioner is very condentrated u get more steam when blowdrying

What's the difference between the Brazillian blow out and a Keratin treatment?
Jayah1981 1 year ago
@Jayah1981 Brazilian Blow Out is like a brand name, but it is a keratin treatment.

Can you dye your hair with a Brazilian Blowout?

Angela you truly are a genius!!! The Brazilian blowout is the best thing that has ever happened to my hair in 19 years =)...Even though I just got my hair done yesterday..I love it and so do all of my friends! My hair is silky, soft and so manageable. If anyone has questions or wants to see before and after photos feel free to send them my way.
