i got alot of understeer so i converted to awd am now sponsored by garret turbo and snap tools, any advice just ask me im willing to help. thanks, drive safe take care. also next time try not to rev it so hard when taking off, this will put additional wear on the clutch which could cost up £900, you will not got wheelspin to if u use around 4300 rpm. finally if you do need to make it faster if you can handle it get a nos kit from halfords they are only £17.99 and add up 432hp which is a resp
i have a corsa c turbo, pushing around 442hp on the dyno at regal. reckon i could giv you a run for you money. easy i have also made it lightweight with bucket seat and carbon fiber steering wheel and spoiler which gives extra downforce when neccessary, however i did have fwd therefore
@NSRacerMods i will ahve another go however my data cable is nackered but i will try again. oh and check out my impreza vid doing a luanch mate u will be impressed its not mine btw lol. these evos are quick tho i went in a evo 6 a while ago, and yeh, superb!
i had an evo 9 (i also have a video i think) but i sold it 1 month ago to a dumb chick...the cars price was estimated to 45.000 euros but i got 40.000 for it....i was doing 0-100 in 4.2 sec so i know how this cars run...i never had an impreza but i kinda like the new sti

oh WOW canyons or circuit.. Too bad where i live at there is none of that shit and what counts is the streets and on the streets you get smoked as "launching" doesnt do shit for you
I know an evo that would do just fine by you, type in silver surfer evo and the vids are older his car is alot faster now lets just say single digits and still daily driven
Nothing to special mate, it has a TSL Firestorm exhaust which is 3" (internal diameter) all the from the Turbo elbow to the back box. It has a 5" slash cut tail pipe too.
damn very nice! a yellow ix? damn you're lucky... i had to settle with a black ix mr since they don't make yellow ix's in the US. they have the 2005 LY with the SSL packaged but its too expensive lol
no way, 34s will lauch at higher revs than this and 33s ar just too fcking quick for evos...i love evos but they are on a different league than skylines
I was up against plenty of Skyline at Santa Pod! They are rubbish unless highly tuned! Any road car will struggle to beat an Evo of the line if launched properly
@meedic well in my experience, it's the word 'understeer' that best sums up audis... the 2.7TT is nice enough, but sitting so far beyond the front axle isn't... ;)
It cost about £600 via software called 'ECUtek' some tuners here use it. It will cost about £250 for the original license the first time you have it mapped. There is loads of software available to be able to tap into the Evos ECU's most used, I believe, is ECUflash, very popular in America and now being used by alot of free lance mappers over here. Do a search on it there should be loads of info about it.
Hi mate, My car has been re-mapped using EcuTek, I think the mapper has introduced a secondary rev limit for when the car is stationary which acts as a type of launch control. I put my foot down and the revs hold at 5700rpm creating up to 0.75 bar of boost, i then let the clutch go as quickly as possible (But not side stepping!) and off she goes!
I don't think I hit the redline there, I think the car hit about 6500rpm on that particular launch, IMO its best to change a little earlier when in first as hitting the limiter will slow you down big time.
Yes, 6 speed. On that particular run it was kept below the redline as it was just showing the launch. Since this video my gearbox has blown along with front and rear diffs :( I will be putting a 5 speed in now for better reliability and gearing.
Good call on the 5speed GSR box! shame about the diffs too. Pisser! Nice evo mate good launches, what clutch are you using - gone through many? I've heard the 6 speeds are ok up to 450ish? Ratios probably a bit cack with that much power though, 5 speed is far better suited. Keep up the good work!
Cheers pal! I'm using an ACT Clutch (single plate) and flywheel, bought from America costing about about £500 all-in. My original standard clutch lasted for 15,000 miles with a few trackdays, sprints and drag runs under its belt! The ACT has only been in for a few thousand miles but seems solid. I think I got unlucky with the box as it just locked the drivetrain and blew it all, IMO the box's are good for 450bhp as long as you have a little mechanical sympathy!
Not bad for the standard clutch! guessing that wasn't with 440hp all it's life though. Top car mate, yeah shame about the 6 speed, now youve got the 5 in - no worries.
Slow...

@meedic no standard road car can compete with evos around a track. evos beat out a few lambos and Ferrari's track wise.

5 speed is the way to go for sure. You stay in boost longer for 1. 2nd the 6 spd is straight fragile compared to the 5 spd.
