Tom Welling has said many, many times he has no intrest in playing Superman. He doesn't want to wear the suit or play character in any way. He only did "Smallville" becasue he was playing Clark Kent. The only way he will ever play Superman is if he can't get work and gets desperate for a job.

The last I heard, they intend to make Justice League as a completely separate entity from the other DC movies, which really makes sense for Nolan's Batman, but not much else, IMO. With the reimagining of Superman on the way, and Green Lantern finally getting his own movie, you'd think they would want to create a franchise to rival The Avengers, but they obviously want to take a different route. A mistake with what they could really do with these amazing characters.

It's really good for a recut, great use of footage, I like how you changed some of the lighting to make the scenes cut together better. I would have liked the a bit more Kent becoming Superman footage, I know there is only one brief clip of him in the superman suit from smallville but maybe more speech around it. Anyway very very good job cutting this. What did you use?

For the things I said at the expense of Mr Welling when this vid was first uploaded, I so apologise. He is really great as Clark. My comments were more aimed at the fact that I hate how the producers dressed Clark for so many seasons. It just buggs me. But he is great in the role, and would make a good Superman.

Because so many people are talking about how Tom Welling should be the next Superman, I'll put in my two cents worth. I don't think I could handle Welling for two hours carrying the film. I don't like his Clark Kent because it's not Clark Kent. Welling works well in an ensomble cast which is what Smallville is. But I would be incredibley disapointed of they brought in Welling for the Nolan film. I'd hire Routh in a split second though.

Tom Welling has been playing the same character for ten years(Maybe not the "Superman" one we all know) but the down to earth Clark Kent one. Welling COULD carry a film for two hours with the right character, beautifully. If you've seen the newest episode, "Salvation", you'll see how he would be terrific for the role. I was out of my chair the whole time and put 2 and 2 together to realize, he would be great on the bigscreen.

@SouperboyX Well as a matter of fact, the only season I've watched every episode of is season 9. He under acts, and thats my worry. For example in Absolute Justice, when he's told Lex will be his ultimate villain, he just stands there and says "Lex is dead". No surprise, no intrige, no confusion, just near deadpan. He hasn't played the Clark we all know. The Clark I know has worn glasses since his teens, and doesn't friggin dress in red and blue.

It's his humble, mild mannered nature and goodness, the values he was instilled with by the Kents who raised him that makes him Clark Kent. And Tom Welling's Clark Kent carries that aspect with him in spades.

Tom Welling could play Clark Kent with absolutely no problem as is my favorite Clark Kent out of every Clark Kent ever done.

@ShadesAtKnight Reeve was a great Superman. Best one ever. But his Clark Kent was a over the top buffoon; a character of a real person, mostly in the first two films. If you notice, no Clark Kent - before or after Reeve's Clark Kent - has ever acted that over the top. Not George Reeves, not Dean Cain, not Brandon Routh and definitely NOT the Clark Kent in the comic books. Reeve's Clark is one that would draw attention to himself, not away from himself IMO. Love his Superman, but not his Clark.

@SouperboyX Salvation was awesome- I actually think it depends on the quality of writing, s9 allowed TW to show a way more confident/heroic side to CK which he did REALLY well, especially loved persuasion when he destroyed the towers (badass!) I see where Shades is coming from, (dont agree with Routh) but I do personally find it hard to watch anyone else in the role of CK when TW has been doing it for nearly a decade on our tv screens- AWESOME trailer btw, loved the inception music. v epic.
