@redcommander27 [Preaching about hell-fire sin, repentance, and God to people who don't believe in them makes no sense at all.]
And heres a tip to atheists: God's people hear his voice and follow him (John 10:27). The Gospel is foolish to those who are perishing, but to those being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Got to say really BOLD, and actually admire it. But for some reason I feel like saying you attract more flies w/ honey than vinegar... if thats the way the saying goes.... Anyways I personally think you would have a better response from the general public if you just set up a booth w/ a speaker phone and asked loudly, "Why dont you believe in Jesus?" or "Ask me as to why I believe in Jesus" ... especially w/ all the knowledge you guys have.. anyways God Bless
@murillo0311 Wouldn't you suppose the point of the exercise is to show what cool guys they are? How many people do you know that were converted in such a way? Go to the CARM website and see how far down the page you go before you find a way to spend money. Is that maybe what it's all about?
@chilimaan... I know a few actually, Its really down to different strokes for different folks... and about the money issue, how else would it be supported? Its not a church where people would regularly tithe every Wednesday and Sunday. So in that sense I would see why things are the way they are on Matt page.. Anyways thanks a lot Matt for all the info and God Bless...
@murillo0311 Well, it wouldn't be supported by Matt. He's supported by IT. Anyway; if you want to say thanks to Matt, you should probably direct your comment to him. I'd have to say Matt got me to really examine what I believe and figure out it's not Christianity. Sure, there were a lot of other factors; actually reading the bible was the single biggest thing I personally did. A lot of people influenced me; but Matt, more than any other, convinced me what an empty sack Christianity really is.
and when do you plan on responding to my video Matt, at least a comment or something, I took an hour to answer your 36 questions... and you won't even accept the response :(
Please take into consideration that the people that are most critical of the public proclamation of the Gospel are either God haters, atheists, living in sin, have not shared the Gospel to anyone lately, have received a man centered message that never saved them, aren't saved yet, or just simply don't like you very much...
We need to as Christians love people enough to share the Gospel with them. Period. Now let's go share the Gospel. Period.
You people are crazy. Believing in something so obviously false. You know, by your logic you could believe that space aliens will harvest your organs if you're a bad person. Just believe it, cause if you do you'll be a better person, just believe it, believe it, don't question, believe it. What a load of bull.
@MassacreBlast Dude if you really feel it is so false, why not call me on my radio show and let's talk about it? Seriously, give me your BEST shot and let's see how it goes. You up to it?
@carmvideos Hey Matt who want's to call into your show where you can steer the conversation any where you want? As you know I have already called your show. Now how about you debate me on skype, no the existence of the God of the bible and of course I will record it and we shall see how you do ?
@OpenAirAtheist: atheists never "steer the conversation" where they want to when Christians call into atheistic programs, right? You seem to think it is unfair that Matt would be able to steer the conversation in his favor if you called into his show. But in an atheistic worldview, why isn't it ok to be unfair?
"mindless drone, right, this coming from an atheist who believes he is re-arranged pond scum."
This is what's known as a non-sequitur. What does one thing have to do with the other? Feel free to consult with Matt on an answer if you can't develop an original thought on your own.
@mjr256: if atheism is true, then what is wrong with logical fallacies? After all, if atheism is true, then why do laws of logic even exist if the universe is supposed to be nothing but matter & energy?
Atheism isn't a claim to truth, but I'll assume you just mean if no gods exist. And the answer to your question is the same as if gods did exist, that your argument is incoherent. This too is a non-sequitur because whether a god or gods exist or not is wholly irrelevant to whether logic exists. It only exposes a lack of imagination when you pull the classic "If X exists then god must exist" gambit. It does no such thing. Existence itself in no way proves any particular origin hypothesis.
Atheism refers to belief. Gnosticism deals w/ knowledge. When some1 says, "if atheism is true..." it isn't synonymous w/, "If no gods exist..." It''s a minor semantic issue, so I responded to the commenter as if they said the latter, given that it seems to be what they meant. Belief is not the same as knowledge. Atheism can no more ever be determined to be true than lack of belief any other unproven claim. We can simply say we've found insufficient evidence for any gods so far.
@jtlbb2 what a whiner! I mean, what a total whiner. Yeah, I steer the convo where I want it.. dude! do some thinking! Look what YOU'RE doing...steering the convo where YOU want it to go yet you complain and make stuff up so you have an excuse to hide and not get tackled on air. Wow.
@OpenAirAtheist First of all, don't use the Lord's name in vain here or I'll ban you permanently. Second, don't give me an excuse for your lack of ability.
@carmvideos Matt I didn't take any Lord's name in vain, nor did I offer any exuse for a lack of ability. 3 I have no problem calling into your show as you know I have done it before, but I would rather debate you on the existence of your god on skype . I even may have some fellow atheist youtubers who might like to be in on it. Would you mind spending some time in the lion's den ? It would be recorded of course. Do you except or not?
@carmvideos O and if you want to pull a VFX and ban me that's on you Mr Slick it won't bother me in the least. I have bigger fish to fry. Believe it or not it's not you as a person I have a problem with it's your faith, it's your beliefs.
Or why not just post a comment here on YouTube where there is already a quick and easy forum for posting comments that will actually be seen by an audience who haven't already become ideologically committed to believing the same magic voodoo you believe in?
@jtlbb2 - Why use a negative connotation? You could also say we're rearranged star stuff. So right off you're pleading to emotions. And as far as why things matter as an Atheist, well that's simple. We wake up in the morning just like anyone else and enjoy our day or go to work, etc. We fall in love and get hurt all the same. What's different if you don't believe in some God that is just an idea with no evidence just like any other idea that has no evidence to support it.
@MassacreBlast: "You could also say we're rearranged star stuff"
I *could* but you've admitted that rearranged pond scum is accurate. Too bad if you don't like it. Besides, why is it a "negative" connotation? If atheism is true, then being called pond scum rather than star "stuff" is really a matter of opinion of which is worse.
Why should you feel such emotions as an atheist? If atheism is true, then everything is relative and there is no real objective basis for what is good.
@MassacreBlast To say there is NO evidence is wrong. The Bible is evidence with its prophecies and work of Christ written by eyewitnesses. The universe and its incredible balance that permits life is evidence. Changed lives is evidence. Information formation and transmission is evidence-and so much more. To say that there IS NO EVIDENCE is not logical since you don't know all things to say there IS NO EVIDENCE. Besides, you'll believe what you want to believe and deny what you want to deny.
@MassacreBlast There is a lot of evidence for God, there are Leibniz-type cosmological arguments, I would also suggest Plantinga's modal ontological argument, Maydole's modal perfect argument.
@meeene4 - Arguments. Wow, I could argue a coffee table into existence. Show me proof and stop f-ing around. Sorry for the vulgarity but you not telling me anything worth knowing is like you farting in my face.
@MassacreBlast Well, you don't seem educated enough to handle an intellectual conversation though. But since you asked, I think if our world is full of a contingent state-of-affairs than that entails a necessary being which we would call God.
@meeene4 - Same goes for you God believer. Go hang out with Thor and the other unfalsifiable hypothesis that mankind has drudged up over the centuries.
@meeene4 - What? That you believe in non-sense? I believe there is right and wrong because I know it to be true. What I don't see are angel and demons flying around or souls leaving bodies. That's all a lie mixed together with the truth of moral rights and wrongs.
Good video Matt! Even if any of those guys that you evangelized too didn't repent right away still be encouraged Matt because the seed is planted. That is what my good friend Jeffrey always tells me when i'm at work. Cause when we have lunch were always talking about God and stuff and the other people in the room can hear us. Don't be discouraged from the people that dislike the video, but be encouraged that your doing what God wants you to do. :) Thanks for what your doing Matt. God Bless.
@hambone425 - Christ said a lot of nice stuff and some off the wall stuff too, but all in all he was a good guy. But son of God? Give me a break, non-sense!
Street preaching seems different than it used to be. There's more defiance and rage from the hearer.
I think the listener is too fat any more. Fat with wrong ideas and fat with the possession of wealth and things, as if there is no awareness of even a need for God
I liked the brief moment of exchange where the charge of copying (copying by the writers of the Bible) was refuted with reason. I'd like to see more videos like this
do you notice how there are automatically negatives to any videos I produce here? I believe it is atheists who just automatically put negatives... yeah, they are nice people, aren't they?
@carmvideos Yep. That goes with almost any Christian video that has a moderate amount of views. It's sad and hypocritical to the morals the atheists claim to.
@carmvideos no, i just don't find that preaching eternal damnation out loud as a main premise is a great way to reach people. I do believe in eternal punishment, but really? How many people come to Christ that way. Love and support your ministry though.
@Onetruthrgv firstly i want to clarify that i don't think it's wrong in any way. secondly, Hellenistic and Jewish cultures are ones that are more receptive to the idea that God could be angry with people. In fact a lot of eastern ideologies lean that way where as in the west it is the opposite.
People need to know about eternal damnation, but they also WHY they are going to hell and be convicted of their sin. This is done by presenting them the Law (Psalm 19:7) and dashing into pieces the ideas of their "goodness", the ability to merit salvation, heaven as default destination or even that God somehow owes them heaven. Without wickedness, why there is a need for a savior? Oh, but they went to church and where "good guys"! Wake up people, you malfunction. Believe the Gospel.
I guess if a person were about to walk in front of a bus you would cry out "Want to be friends! You can come to my church!" -- then the person gets hit by the bus. How about yelling out "Watch out! There's a bus (hell) coming and if you don't turn around you'll be hit!"
Love demands you speak the truth--the direct truth. You're also speaking a pragmatic humanistic approach(the flesh)---do me a favor and go listen to the sermon "10 shekels and a shirt"--you need it.
@droptozro I'm not Rob Bell or anything like that, I definitely believe in hell. People do need the truth, but just going out saying that God is going to burn you to someone without saying that Jesus saves you from sin, yourself and ultimately God's wrath... i mean you gotta preach the WHOLE message.. and one people's level.. culturally relevant as well.. that's all i'm arguing for, i'm not saying we have to withhold telling people the doctrine of hell, but just do it in a way that makes sense.
Until you understand you deserve hell---you more than likely will not understand the Gospel. I grew up hearing this all my life(in the modern day relevant church), yet thought I was a good person all my life too. Even after I became and atheist and a nihilist... I still came back to the church at some point and went to the modern day seeker-sensitive church and thought myself saved. It wasn't until someone confronted me that I deserved hell that I realized the true Gospel.
I'm not for rebuke rebuke rebuke hell hell hell and no Gospel either--if people want an example of that, they can go to watch Westboro Baptist... I'm just claiming, it's not really Good News until you understand the bad news. It just won't make sense, it didn't make sense to me all my life until age 24---I'd heard it over and over and over again that Jesus died for me.
@fenderstrt4 That is something I'm concerned about, too. We must preach the truth, but I suspect that most people don't have the foundation to even know what we're talking about.
@fenderstrt4 If you don't believe in eternal punishment you are submitting to some new-age deal not Christianity. God speaks of Hell many times in the Bible, and without it than Jesus would have nothing to save us from now wouldn't he?
How dare those atheists rate the video based on their opinion of its content? Why can't they just give positive ratings to videos they emphatically disagree with...you know, like Christians do on atheist channels. Or...right. Christians don't do that.
@carmvideos Just letting you know I never rate videos like this where I don't agree with the substance. The same went for Ray Comfort videos (I used to watch all of his videos, including their On The Box show, I never down voted), but unfortunately as soon as I started courteously disagreeing via the comments, I got banned from their channel.
Story of Gilgamesh is a copy off the oral tradition that was already in place.It may have been written before Moses penned the worldwide flood about 1,900 years after it happened but it was past down through oral tradition right after the flood thru Noah's offspring.Gilgamesh has many legendary and pantheistic things in it while the Noah story makes sense and there is evidence all over the Earth that supports its claims. College will make some people stupid like that man that didn't think it rhu

@red [assuming that those who are truly saved will respond to people shouting at them in the street by God's grace]
Shouting is for more people to hear, dont take it so personal as if they are targetting an individual.
[(Good luck with that, I have yet to hear of one Christian converted that way)]
Which means nothing, there are videos from user "crytogod" of people who come to faith by this method.

All we can do is pray God has mercy on their soul and grants them repentance after delivering the Gospel.
[(If your a Calvinist though, you must assume that God will do the work so as long as you proclaim it I guess it doesn't matter from a Reformed POV)]
That doesn't allow "ends justify the means" methods which the Bible forbids.

God Bless.

It is sad that so many people hate Christ.
hambone425 9 months ago
@hambone425 - Christ said a lot of nice stuff and some off the wall stuff too, but all in all he was a good guy. But son of God? Give me a break, non-sense!

Really is that the best way to evangelize?

Street preaching seems different than it used to be. There's more defiance and rage from the hearer.
I think the listener is too fat any more. Fat with wrong ideas and fat with the possession of wealth and things, as if there is no awareness of even a need for God
I liked the brief moment of exchange where the charge of copying (copying by the writers of the Bible) was refuted with reason. I'd like to see more videos like this

That guy clearly does not know the definition of repentance.
SonnyDelight55 9 months ago
do you notice how there are automatically negatives to any videos I produce here? I believe it is atheists who just automatically put negatives... yeah, they are nice people, aren't they?
carmvideos 9 months ago 6
@carmvideos Well at least you know your doing something right...
HeavenBound2323 9 months ago
@carmvideos No. I didn't notice. But then, I didn't and wouldn't care. 11 likes, 3 dislikes oh, how persecuted you must think you are.
chilimaan 9 months ago
@carmvideos Yep. That goes with almost any Christian video that has a moderate amount of views. It's sad and hypocritical to the morals the atheists claim to.
ben89422 9 months ago
@carmvideos no, i just don't find that preaching eternal damnation out loud as a main premise is a great way to reach people. I do believe in eternal punishment, but really? How many people come to Christ that way. Love and support your ministry though.

@fenderstrt4 So was Paul wrong in Acts 17 for his street preaching and debates he did in the open?
Onetruthrgv 9 months ago
@Onetruthrgv firstly i want to clarify that i don't think it's wrong in any way. secondly, Hellenistic and Jewish cultures are ones that are more receptive to the idea that God could be angry with people. In fact a lot of eastern ideologies lean that way where as in the west it is the opposite.
fenderstrt4 9 months ago
@fenderstrt4

@fenderstrt4
You're also speaking a pragmatic humanistic approach(the flesh)---do me a favor and go listen to the sermon "10 shekels and a shirt"--you need it.
droptozro 9 months ago
@droptozro I'm not Rob Bell or anything like that, I definitely believe in hell. People do need the truth, but just going out saying that God is going to burn you to someone without saying that Jesus saves you from sin, yourself and ultimately God's wrath... i mean you gotta preach the WHOLE message.. and one people's level.. culturally relevant as well.. that's all i'm arguing for, i'm not saying we have to withhold telling people the doctrine of hell, but just do it in a way that makes sense.
fenderstrt4 9 months ago
@fenderstrt4

@droptozro fair enough.

@fenderstrt4
I'm not for rebuke rebuke rebuke hell hell hell and no Gospel either--if people want an example of that, they can go to watch Westboro Baptist... I'm just claiming, it's not really Good News until you understand the bad news. It just won't make sense, it didn't make sense to me all my life until age 24---I'd heard it over and over and over again that Jesus died for me.
droptozro 9 months ago
@droptozro a lot has changed in ministry since paul's day as well.
fenderstrt4 9 months ago
@fenderstrt4 That is something I'm concerned about, too. We must preach the truth, but I suspect that most people don't have the foundation to even know what we're talking about.
MatthewJohnSlick 9 months ago
@fenderstrt4 If you don't believe in eternal punishment you are submitting to some new-age deal not Christianity. God speaks of Hell many times in the Bible, and without it than Jesus would have nothing to save us from now wouldn't he?
meeene4 8 months ago
@meeene4 Did I say that I didn't believe in eternal punishment?
fenderstrt4 8 months ago
@fenderstrt4 I am not talking about that. I am talking about that we need Jesus to save us from hell, so preaching it out loud is bad?
meeene4 8 months ago
@carmvideos that's cuz your videos prick their consciences

@carmvideos I love it when people reject the Bible yet they know nothing about what's in it....these people are called idiots.

@carmvideos
How dare those atheists rate the video based on their opinion of its content? Why can't they just give positive ratings to videos they emphatically disagree with...you know, like Christians do on atheist channels. Or...right. Christians don't do that.
mjr256 9 months ago
@carmvideos Just letting you know I never rate videos like this where I don't agree with the substance. The same went for Ray Comfort videos (I used to watch all of his videos, including their On The Box show, I never down voted), but unfortunately as soon as I started courteously disagreeing via the comments, I got banned from their channel.
Theists can be butt-holes too, just sayin'.
