  • Your house looks so beautiful! It would have been a cool home anyways, but the fact that it is made from recycled materials makes it even better!

  • @JessicaJeanVideos thanks, I do projects like this all the time. I'm in the process of tearing down an old barn and using the materials to build another barn with a studio apartment in the upstairs loft.

  • That's a really nice job. I work in home improvement and there is so much waste. I try to salvage and recycle everything possible. Did you file a building permit for the cabin? I'm wonder about the porch on stacked rocks and if that would pass an inspection.

  • @peasantperson The house has an actual foundation. I use the dry stacked rocks for appearances.

  • thats awesome! how do you keep the logs from rotting?

  • @Arijahankhkhalid. I built the log house under big overhangs. The ground beneath the cabin and porch do not get wet.

  • I'm going to buy 20 acres in Washington state this year and build a log cabin, Is there any books by title I should read to help me build it the correct way? I renovated a house not to long ago so I'm handy with a hammer and pry-bar I want to do the cutting with a chain saw as I wont have power out there for some time. thank you.

  • Read them all. I'm putting one one up in April in Toronto. If you want to throw in and help have at it. thanks Mike.
