  • Reminds me of July 9, 1984. I was living in Clearwater, Fl, walking around my apartment. I happened to look up & saw the Goodyear blimp in the sky like it's shown here. I was so excited because I'd wanted to see a blimp in person since I was 8 years old, which then was 13 years before.

  • I lived in Clearwater back in 1984 right under the glide path. I looked up one day and actually saw a Pink Floyd blimp going in for landing. Those were the good old days back then.

  • From what I understand, Columbia N4A was in service in Carson, Ca (7L0-now 64CL) from '75 'til around mid '86. Columbia N10A then replaced it. Blimp buff for life.

  • @DanBell47

That's correct. The Columbia was station in Carson, where the Eagle and now the Spirit of America is stationed. This video was taken at my house (at the time) in Portland, Oregon.

  • @BammerD This is just my opinion, but I wish they kept the old color scheme.

  • @DanBell47

I agree. I liked the old scheme better. I think the only reason they changed to blue and yellow was to hide the LED boards better.

  • @BammerD I agree.

  • @BammerD That makes sense.

  • Boy "O Boy this brings back memories of when I was a kid, They changed the look of the blimps in the early 90's but this is how they looked from 1969 'till 1992. You couldn't miss the huge black Goodyear in the sky.

  • man i love blimp sounds lol
