This was a work. Just knowing the history of WCW and the players involved is enough to convince me this was a work and not reality. This was something to give TNA a story angle to work with in order to compete with WWE. But, it was kind of good.

@LouGruff Oh bull, TNA itself all but came out and admitted it was real and if they didn't they did the WORST job of trying to cover it up at the last minute by trying to sell it as a work. They hoped that those with TNA loyalty and not a lot of integrity would buy into a very weak lame excuse and even if it was a work, it was an extremely sloppy one that was barely worthy of the Indy wrestling circuits.

Also, referees RARELY put themselves between the pinned-man's shoulders and the ropes as to not obstruct the vision of the crowd in order to make a kick out more appearant....i believe, considering the ref.'s position, that he intended to block the view of a raised shoulder in case Hardy would try to kick out.....referees at times even jump over the wrestlers or take a couple seconds to hit the mat in a position where the wrestler's are completely exposed.....not this time.....

The argument that it has to be a work because it's on TV is dumb. I might have bought that for literally any other match on the card, but this was their main event. Everything on TV was leading up to this match. What the fuck else were they supposed to do? Yeah, I guess not air it, but what do they then tell the live audience? "Sorry, kids. Jeff's all fucked up on pills. Show's over." They'd have gotten an even worse reaction than the one they got.

I think Hardy really tried to kick out because you can tell when they just get pined or they are supposed to get a 2 and barely kicks out. I think Jeff wanted to kick out at 2 but wanted it to look like he barley kicked out and didn't do it. Sting looked pissed the whole time after the ref said something to him before Bishoff came out too I think it was real.

Is it me or does it seem that everyone who goes form WWE to TNA gets worse? I mean there might be a few exceptions (Kentrick, but only in indie shows and... Christian? but he is always awesome.) but mostly its kind Angle (who I liked.) Kennedy (who I wanted to like) theHardys (who I despise now) and even Flair lost his luster.

TNA is a blight I hope RoH does well with its TV deal to get broadcasted all over the place and take TNA's spot as the alternative to WWE.

Apparently it WAS real. I just came across this interview with Sting published yesterday. The relevant questions are at the end of the interview (also, Sting is apparently a devout born-again Christian. I did NOT see that little factoid coming).

Do you guys honestly think theres a chance this was a work? This did SERIOUS damage to TNA's credibility, it was a live show so they clearly didnt plan this.. Bischoff coming out was a on-the-spot change to the plans to make it a no-DQ match and then they probably planned to have guys run in and interfere.. but Sting didn't have any time for that bullshit and just ended it.
