  • chain breaker?

  • Just how resistant are these to bolt cutters? I see they show them being tested in this video but it seems like they would not survive an attack on the links.

  • Love these, I use the one-link version as a secondary lock for my custom $1,500 bike, with Kryptonite evo. mini u-lock. To lock my front wheel & to lock the bike to itself. But damn both locks combined are freakin heavy but at least compact.

  • Locks only keep honest people honest

people have been brainwashed with security..

there is no Guarantee in life

  • why is this in my recommended videos?

  • Might as well just get REAL police handcuffs (the newer ones without the chain)....

  • @w3lc0metomyl1fe where?

  • I honestly sawed through a Kryptonite U-Lock in about 20 minutes with a hacksaw with the appropriate blade. Wasn't a blade but a cylindrical cutting part. Carbide I guess. Girlfriend at the time lost the key and I needed the bike. The key with locking your bike is a multi-pronged attack. Big chain. Disc lock with alarm. Motion sensor alarm. The more options the better. I'm thinking of writing "SMILE YOU'RE ON CAMERA" on my bike cover as well. No amount of security will stop pros.

  • Tubular keys? Even kids can open cylinder with BIC razor grip! LMAO!! xD

  • it probably will work, but the down side is the warrenty. it is only good for 1 year after purchase date, and if it does get stolen, then u have to report to the police within 72 hours, and with the insurance company, and mail all that to them within 7 days, and besides, its only 3500, most bikes new are worth at least double that, not including mods. but u should have insurance to cover the rest, but ur rates will go up

  • I know that for bicycles the Kryptonite warranty, and Master's is surely the same, you only get a check sent to your homeowners insurance company, not to you. no homeowners insurance, no pay. And you have to produce the defeated lock- so if the thief takes it with to throw away (a good idea, rather than leave for fingerprinting!) you get no claim. If you bought the bicycle used you have to have an appraisal from a legit bike shop beforehand. Many M/C owners have only liability, so no payout.

  • a bit of ignorance on both the pro and con sides here... I have a street cuffs SS and if you think any "chain tool" can put a dent in it you must have king kong's bike! There is a site of a guy who lost a bike with the cheaper line of cuffs, the link was cut prolly with bolt cutters, the better cuffs are much heftier HOWEVER a DeWalt 18 volt angle grinder will defeat ANY lock in minutes so caveat emptor. As for the $3500 guarantee read the fine print- impossible to collect in a real world loss!

  • @batvette love the latin. ha.

  • its gay i got pranked and was street cuffed to a my bed when i was sleeping. pure gayness there to much like leg irons.

  • I had the street cuffs and used it to lock up a $600 dollar go-ped. My brother had a party one night and a kid that came was on barz and drunk, some how stole my scooter and the 800 lbs. vehicle I locked it too was still in tact. FUCK THE STREET CUFF!

  • man that blows! not to mention how stupid these things look.

  • I have had these for a while and so far, my shiny new bike has been there every time.

I parked my bike near a restaurant outdoor patio. When I got back, a group at a table told me a guy was messing around with my lock. I guess he gave up and left.

The lock is mean looking enough to make a thief pick another bike to rip off.

  • I think it's more a matter of it's kind of unusual so they haven't developed a well known technique and shared it with their jailbird friends yet. Most thieves aso specialize in one type of lock and carry just the tools for that purpose, so as usual the best bike lock is TWO different types. After owning the SS cuffs for awhile with a $3k Ti hybrid I use a Kbrand NY small U, and a Cobralinks Jr. together but the SS cuffs are as good as the K "U", IMO. Difference? Weight and ease of use.

  • gay any one with a chain tool can pop the pin out of the chain and be gone with your bike. Guess they didn't think that one thru very well lmao

  • i dont think is like a normal chain that u can just pop u know ut why woulkd u cut it wiht wire cutter it doest seem too thick

  • @brokentapedeck

The pins are peened so they won't slide out like the pins on a bicycle chain.

  • i got a yamaha r1 i live in brooklyn NY ... i have these cuffs i just use it if i got to get off my bike to take a piss or run into the corner store to buy something .... these locks are good if your gone leave your bike unattended for a few mins ... you over night with this lock or push past an hour in the wrong hood YOU WILL GET GOT !!!

  • omg

  • hey i locked my bike up in my house and i lost my key.. does anyone know how i could get into this without break the lock.. or if i really have to i will.. PLEASE HELP!

  • if anyone does know how to get into it then i'd rather not have them haha, hope you got it sorted though :-)

  • CRAPPY! I SAY lol

  • This piece of crap opens with the giggle of a pen cap!

  • Update: I purchased a pair of Street Cuffs(bicycle version) and a package of Bic brand pens I was not able to pick the lock. If anyone is able please let me know. That's a challenge!

  • No kidding!!! If this was real, the lock would be in 20 pieces and the thief would damage the bike anyway.

  • Bought one of these the second I saw this video... I've seen enough bikes stolen by just rolling them away, or lifting into vans.. it's sick. I got the fatty 7lb one too, almost 3x as heavy as the standard 2.7-2.8lb ones. They'll have to bust the pole it's attached to to take my bike. MasterLock guaruntee's up to $4000 if it doesn't work too.

  • Really, make a video of it then! Yeah doubt it.

  • So Could I with a radial pin pick or a shim.

Not a bad idea but needs some refinement such as rotating disc cylinders instead of radial pin cylinders.

Would masterlock replace My Bike if it was Stolen?, probibly not.

  • They offer a $3500 guarantee. That's good enough for me.

(There's on guarantee on the "Quantum Lock", because it's a piece-of-shit cable lock at heart.)

  • Pfft i culd get into those

  • pfft where's the video?
