  • One thing I hate about all these tests is that they don't do enough runs. Anyone familiar with statastics knows that you need a decent sample size. I understand things are time limited for the show, but they should video a couple runs, and then do 8 or more so other runs off camera. Take the best of the 10 (or whatever number) and use that figure. EVERYONE's times will drop after a few runs, and it would eliminate the who "unfamiliarity" factor somewhat.

  • @bongborin Yea but in GT-R, computers do 50% of the driving. Without all the high-tech electronic systems that is uses, it wouldn't be as fast or as easy to drive. Thats why they said its not a real-supercar. Its too heavy and too dependent on the electronics to be able to use it as supercar on a racetrack. You cant drive consistently with it for a long time. But then again, GT-R, Gallardo and 911 Turbo would all shine on normal roads with bumps, and especially on dirty or wet roads.

  • @derbigpr500 to me, technology is technology. everyone draws the line differently and many will draw it when it comes to electronic interference. to me, though, every bit of car technology is designed to make a car faster. why draw the line at computers? if it's making the car faster, shouldn't it be embraced?

    the skill cap may be lower, but isn't the whole point to have a faster car? shouldn't ease of driving be a good thing?

The correct pronuntiation of the double "L" in standard spanish sound like in italiano il fonema "gli" por ejemplo "moglie" o in portugués "mulher"; es spanish "ll" sound like in italiano "gli" and portughese "lh".

  • @2ndtonone1000 I wouldn't even say that, vettes don't have much finesse/balance, most of it is in the "special" tires the ZR1 uses. Yes fast in a strait line, but it will oversteer on corner exits without it "special" tires.

  • @abenaway But on that track, a ZR1 couldnt hang. That car is faster than shit, but the awd Lambo can stomp on the gas out of the corners, the ZR1 would fight to find any form of traction! On a big track im sure a ZR1 would win, but on a circuit like this one I think AWD is the key (superior braking and corner exit traction).

I'm waiting for the new Fuji race they have coming with the 12'GTR, LFA, ZR1, 911RS...but I watch some of the high lights & again they put the most exp. drivers in they're cars...which didn't make since, but this is a JP show so I'd expect some favoritism.

    GTR has 7:24.4.

  • @philonetic Apparently, the new gtr this year gets 0-60 in 2.9, and the Nissan guys say it does the Nur in 7:20:xx range. The Nur times still have yet to be seen. And that's not the v spec version.

    I have to rescind my comment, I discovered that the ZR1 never did a 7:22.4. It's referred to as the "Lord of the Rings" hoax. Some troll mass posting, so much so that official mags have used published their times.

    ZR1 has 7:26.*, but that is with PTM off, where it gets 2mph more in the slalom with it on. GTR hitting 7:20 is a pipe dream for now, the whole evolution of the car from 8 years before the first public sale of it occurred on there getting faster every year. Some day.

I mean everyone claiming their own time most of the time with a stop watch, and only a vid to prove it. Who know wut they have done to the car...or if they tweaked the vid. Ur running the stickiest tires known to man which negates awd advantage kinda like the fastest car in a 1/4 top fuel car aren't awd...once u get so much traction awd starts to become a hinder due to weight, understeer etc. Also F1 cars have mad down force to keep the rear pressed to the ground, up doubling it's own weight in down force...awd is not needed ;-)

(although british, the car itself was made in America and was inspired by the RWD NSX) the corvette z06 and Zr1 are also great contendors for these kinds of race.. If yout think america is all about going fast in a straight line, you need to reasses your knowledge in motor history and dig deeper into American racing history !!!

  • @tenjinnim research before you post, the 2005 f1s developed up to 980hp, the ford gt and mclaren f1 had almost 600hp and the gt was fast but mostly at the top end

  • @tenjinnim MClaren, and Ferrari don't have your typical chassis's!! They're mid or rear engine rwd and thats all they want to work with so they pour all their money and engineering in making a rwd car handle amazingly which equates to the reason why they charged shit loads of money for it. GTR is simple. Good drivetrain + launch control, and spend all your money on engineering an epic awd system and suspension tuning while going cheap with everything else and you got yourself a monster.

Its so easy to spot clueless people on youtube who comment on car videos, but they dont actually know anything about cars. You've obviously never driven neither of those cars, or any car on a track yet. Its not all about lap times either, it about balance, feedback, the way car acts on the limit, the way car feels...its about driving pleasure.

    The C6's are more than capable around a track, and the Z06 and ZR1 put down lap time comparable to all of the cars shown here. I'm not sure what you're getting at, other than repeating the same, tired, rhetoric that angsty teenagers have been repeating ever since they were old enough to play Gran Turismo. 

  • @opmike343 On this track ZR1 is not as fast as the cars in this video, at least not when its completely stock.These guys tested the ZR1 as well, on this track, and it clocked slower times than Gallardo, GT-R and 458. The thing about ZR1 is, a lot of people only look at its nurburgring time, but they dont actually know that at Nurburgring ZR1 was driven on semi-slick tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup), with racing fuel and track setup, without those modifications it wouldn't be as fast as it was.

  • @opmike343 Also, know that Chevrolet, Nissan and Cadillac are the only mass manufacturers who released official Nurburgring lap times of their cars, nobody else does. The point is, Nurburgring isnt standardized, you cant compare lap times of lets say ZR1 or GT-R to F458 or Gallardo because one were driven stock by car journalists, other were driven in a track setup on track tires by pro test drivers. Until there are some standards by which cars are tested, those times are just pointless numbers.

  • I think what makes Best Motoring so special is nothing is staged, the battles are real, the performance and drivers are real. The evaluation of the cars is top notch, unlike some so called BBC motoring shows. Even the humour is really infectious and isn't staged, like it is in Top Gear, it truly makes you feel happy and laugh out loud. Especially Tsuchiya-san's laugh is just the best.

    The 996 turbo even has a faster lap time than the NSX, and better handling, yet the newer 997 turbo which has 4wd and is faster doesn't?

    Not to mention they didn't specify the tires on the turbo. Out of all the cars on this show, both GTR and Porsche have the best handling.

    Also, the turbo launches the fastest (not flooring from 0 you nubs, but launching) @ 2.8 seconds 0-60.

  • this video is an advertising for the gt-r but it doesn't matter, I enjoyed the horn battle and the "getting passed" test.

  • Maybe b/c I don't care too much for the base GTR, or that "I'm reading too much into it" or watching I guess u can say; but I find it odd for one this GTR ran faster than the Spec-V did on this track, & two that the Lambo driver so happens to get a freakin 1 sec late start, spins the tires horribly even after he ran consistant start the prior 2 races, & then misses a shift in a DSG box car when he happens to be racing the GTR all this coming from a Japan test group. Anyone else see my concern?

Lambo is truly a beast, but come on... you can't drive this bull*hit in the city. GT-R is waaay better for the normal user :) Not to mention that it can be easily tuned to 900hp which will make huuuuge success in drag racing.

  • Ok, you're right I'm not exactly right on that matter, but it can be tuned to 800HP for 13000 euro, if you don't believe me... kill yourself, or just check Switzer's website. There are many videos of 800hp R35s here on youtube, see what that monster does :)
