What this means is that between the salahs, jum'ahs and ramadhans if we do them correctly allah forgives our sins committed since the last..eg i did something sinful between last ramadhan and the next...my fasting the next properly Allah forgives that sin. But there is an exception the major sins such as zina etc requires specific repentance for that sin so you should pray the 2 rakah and beg allah to forgive that sin and inshaAllah Allah forgives that sin with sincer repentence and regret.
