Buy a guitar, maybe a low end electric Ibanez or Squire, you can get a beginner package with an amp etc for about $129. Buy and install Guitar Pro 5 on your PC or Mac there are thousands of free tabs on the web. There are many usb controllers that interface with your PC/Guitar. I have a Digitech GNX4, but that is quite expensive for someone just trying to learn. I have seen one by Behringer for $35, and buy a beginners book. You now have for the price of this game the tools to learn to play.
I actually play an electric guitar. Marketing this crap with the promise of learning to play is highly offensive to me. Power gig is going to do to music the same that tony hawk did to skateboarding. Dont support this disaster

When he plugged into the amp, I think my ears started to bleed. This is just another shitty Rock Band/GH. You don't even play the guitar. You just press down on the strings according to the color or whatever. The only difference is if you do play guitar you can use it with an amp which doesn't help much because it's a shitty guitar.

All these people that are happy because it's a real guitar: as far as I can tell it's the same as regular Guitar Hero but with strings instead of buttons. If you want a real guitar, check out Rock Band 3 pro mode.

See there is a reason why they dont show the actual gameplay in the demonstration of it, the game is HORRIBLE. the strings on the guitar suck too, they wanted to make it into an actual guitar experience.....right.....ive been playing guitar for 6 years and i thought it would be cool to incorporate video games into it and compete against people. This game is far from even decent, save your money for a real guitar or rock band 3 :))

When he plugged into the amp, I think my ears started to bleed. This is just another shitty Rock Band/GH. You don't even play the guitar. You just press down on the strings according to the color or whatever. The only difference is if you do play guitar you can use it with an amp which doesn't help much because it's a shitty guitar.

People work hard to create software and peripherals like this to assist in learn something new. This is OBVIOUSLY an educational game, but you're too blind to see it. Would you rather have your kids playing GTA4 and end up in prison? Besides, what's wrong with video gaming evolution? Or are you one of those anti-tech people still stuck in the stone ages with a rabbit ear television?

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. buy a real guitar. spend hours callousing your fingers and learning chords and notes and scales etc. Quit wasting your life on stupid crap and learn a real instrument. You will get a million times more satisfaction out of it...even playing simple chords...compared to being some wannabe. Go jam with friends. it's more fun and productive.

All these people that are happy because it's a real guitar: as far as I can tell it's the same as regular Guitar Hero but with strings instead of buttons. If you want a real guitar, check out Rock Band 3 pro mode.

I don't get this, they take all the instruments game and put them on a whole new level, and yet people complain?? I really don't get it, I mean people that don't play guitar should at least try it instead of saying how horrible the guitar sound (although you might be right by that) but you can't expect them to throw you a real Gibson Les Paul or a Fender Deluxe for 100 Bucks! come on guys, stop whining about the game until it comes out.

@GodisTriune I've looked into it a little and from what I can tell the guitar sounds kinda bad but it's pretty cheap from what I've heard.
I wouldn't recommend using it as a REAL guitar but for a controller I would say its fine.
