This should really work bcs, the ring of death is a diode which isnt at mainboard anymore, by overheating the diod contacts back to mainboard and you can play again for a while...untill she loosed the mainboard again.

Your best bet is buying a new one, cleaning the broken one and putting it in the new box and returning it with the receipt. I've done it before make sure its a best buy take it to more than one store if it fails.

that is not a permeate fix you are only doing more damage to the cpu you have to put more thermal compound it and that will keep you from frying your cpu in your xbox and the rrod will stop once youve dont that. if you dont you will end up with 4 rings of death then your fucked...
