I have to agree that FLCL is the one that's overrated, I only saw it once and there was nothing in it to make me want to watch the whole thing over again; beautiful animation, lots of action, and no depth. NGE on the other hand is THE anime in terms of rewatchability; I've seen it 4 times in the past couple years and I still wouldn't mind watching the whole thing over again right this instant .

I agree that NGE is a bit overrated, although it IS hard to not get taken in by meaningless symbolism. I can agree that I see FLCL as superior in several aspects. but what I CANNOT agree with is anything positive about starwars...
