@ DuxDweller: There is no specific direction on how to fit the clavicle channels. It is completely up to the player's preference on how it feels and how he feels it's protecting his AC. Basically you place them in front and behind the ac joint so the “gap” is directly over the AC joint. Be sure to do both sides, individiually, not just one side and match up the other. Just as every player is different, ever shoulder is also different. Hope that helps. Good luck!
@SchuttSports . My son has been wearing these pads since August. They are excellent. He reports that they are both light, and do seem to absorb impact better than the Riddell pads he previously wore. However, for some reason, the grommets that are on the straps have started to bend outward. He came home yesterday with cuts on his chest from the edges of the bent grommets. I bent them back down - but is there a better solution (newer design maybe?) Thanks!
Thank you! If they remain on the pads, what is the proper positioning of the clavicle pads? It seems like I can position them in many different ways. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm trying to optimize the fit. Because he is still growing, the pads are the proper measurement across the shoulders, but he has some room in the chest.
@ DuxDweller: The AiR Flex is designed to be worn with or without clavicle channels. If you choose to wear the clavicle channels you are offered extra protection. The pad itself is raised up off of the AC joint so no direct impact can occur. However the pad CAN be worn without the clavicle channels, but in turn you sacrifice the extra protection.
I have a question about the "removable clavicle channels." Are the pads designed to be worn with these completely removed? That is, to make the pads "sit lower" on the shoulder? My son (high school RB) feels as though they sit too high compared with his old Riddell pads.
@ MikeSouzaFBx: Thanks man. We appreciate the vote of confidence. Good luck this season. Keep us posted on how the season is going (here or on our facebook page)
i play DT/DE and these are by far the lightest most impact absorbing pads i've ever used trust me get these u will not be happier i did a ton of research and these are the best impact pads are not used by pros and riddell new custom power lightspeed pads are the same foam they use in regular pads the brock bead really works
are these pads good for defensive backs? I want to be able to reach up and catch the ball, but at the same time have enough protection to make big hits.
im looking to buy one of these shoulder pads for my sof. year. i wear a large i play DL as an end, what type of shouder pad should i get, also where can i get this at. also does all the shoulder pads have the 2 different types of hook ups on it. the schutt ion is the best helmet is one of the best ever.
@chsthewall You can get the pads at an online dealer such as football america dot com or you can check with your local dealer, if they do not have it in stock you can have them order it from us for you.
Im looking for some pictures of these pads on a player. Im trying to find out what the All Purpose and the Elite look like on the player and under the jersey. Any NFL or collage teams exclusively use these pads?
@Trigj We don't have any specific photos of the pads on the player with the jersey but USF, the Cheifs, Falcons, and Raiders are a few teams that wear them.
@MrHilvichnov For what you're getting The AiR Flex like the rest our line is a great value. The top of the line AiR Flex ranges from $280.00 - $320.00
I had a shoulder injury last year and i am a QB. I am debating between buying the QB/WR pad or the SKILL pad. I injured my non throwing arm, so I need the extra protection that the SKILL offers in front of the shoulder, but I also need the mobility the QB/WR pad offers with no pad in front of the shoulder. What shoulder pad should I get in your opinion?
@13dustyd No problem, The QB-WR is going to give you the best range of motion. The problem is the QB-WR does not have a deltoid pad to give you a little extra protection. The skill still provides a good range of motion and because it has removable deltoid pads you might want to consider trying that one on and removing the delotid pad for your throwing arm and keeping it on for your non-throwing injured arm. Check it out at your dealer, and make sure it gives you enough range of motion.
barbelerXIII: Great! Glad you like the AiR Flex and even better that you have a great fit on it. We'd love to hear what you think about. If you're on facebook consider becoming a fan of our page.
Hello, thanks to have recommend me to choice the M size! I just received my shoulderpad AirFlex Skill and it's the good size!! But I can't try it because I'm momentarily injured! But when I can test hit, I would tell you my opinion about this shoulderpads!
13dustyd: Unfortunately the Varsity Back Plate does NOT fit the AiR Flex. The AiR Flex has angled attachment holes while the Varsity Back Plate attachment holes are straight. The AiR Flex accessories have the same technology in the pad so you can count on a consistent look and protection.
dlineattack: Both the AiR Flex & Armor Flex have great protection. The AiR Flex features Brock Beaded Technology and really helps in decreasing the force of impact. Try them both out and see which one is going to work best for you.
what has more protection this one or the armour flex cuz currently i have the armour flex but i have the choice to pick from the current one i have and the air
barbelerXIII: Your English is good, I would have never know it was a second language for you. The air flex is awesome and you'll love it, your best bet is to go with the Medium because of your chest size. The arch shape and 3-point belt really help bring the pad closer to your body and give you a low profile
I want to buy this shoulder pads, my Shoulder Width is 17" and my Chest
is 38" ( I am not big, 5'5" for 150Lbs) . And I want that the shouder pads are not to big, very close to the body! Should I take a size S or size M?? (sorry for my bad english, I'm french!)
LuckyDog783: The AiR Flex is currently sold out, but it will be available in the March-April time frame. Make sure you check with your local dealer on availability.
laurentsKM: Go with the skill pad, it will still give the range of motion you need as a WR while providing the extended protection as a safety. You can remove the deltoid pads depending on your preference of added protection or more range of motion.
can an yone tell me what non epaulet is????
