I played EVERY heroes might and magic game and its expansion, my first was 3 and its my top favorite game of all time i spend 150+ on multiplayer with my buddies, 1 and 2 are nice but they didnt age well because of 3, 4 is plain boring to me, i dont like the grapichs, sound or factions, 5 is a mixed bag, i like the fighting more and the factions are ok, but i wish they would stop trying to make it look like lord of the rings. Oh and these are with stronghold my favs :) especially the theme.

When I'm playing and the song starts playing at the part around ~2:00 I always have to listen it to the end before ending my turn. It's just so magnificent and somehow it is so soothing - if there was a whole song like that I could use that as a thing to help me fall asleep, in a good way. God, gotta' love that one.

Expert Necro and cloak of the undead king plus necopolis with necromancy amplifier. 30+30+10 70% necromancy skill. plus if you are Vidomina who get 5% per level to her necromancy skill. Even with basic necromancy she's dangerous. get her to level 10. That's 50% bonus. above + means 120% necromancy that means that of 100 dead pikemen for example. Equals in this case 120 skeletons, 80 Skeleton warriors, 40 Zombies, 20 Vampires and 10 liches.

@UltimaRune Might and magic itself went downhill after part 7. Elder scrolls was ruined with oblivion - fallout 3 felt soulless.. Neverwinter nights and such could never capture the greatness of games as Baldur's gate and planescape. I miss oldschool rts games like first c&c and total annihilation. And where did the twisted, atmospheric and UNIQUE shooters like Blood go? System shock owns bioshock. And remember crusader; no regret/remorse? Indeed, games these days have NOTHING on the classics :(

Do u know what I noticed yesterday... The Necropolis' blacksmith gives them a first aid tent... Wait for it... Let me say that again.. A FIRST AID TENT!!!

I can understand Tower w ammo cart as they have 2-3 ranged units, Dungeon w ballista as they r about caning ppl etc but.. Necropolis, FIRST AID TENT??? THEY ARE ALREADY DEAD!!

Anyway.. as for the music.. Love it, because I can't listen to it without thinking of the mischievious creepy smile etched to the skull of a walking skeleton

@ArnyTheChamp Oh, that's easy. It's just a first aid tent because the developers must've gone lazy and didn't want to create another bblacksmith item when it'd have the same effect anyway. While in most first aid tents they heal wounds, here they just mend bones, sew some things together and call it ok. As you said, they are already dead, so why bother with any actual healing when you can just put everything in one pile and let ancient unholy magicks do the work for you?

@Voffsing1 I agree with you on that the game itself isn't that bad, but the whole "anime" feeling in HOMM5 is very alien to the HOMM series and I have a strong distaste towards that. One thing I do like is how the skills work in HOMM5 (the "skillwheel"). HOMM needs the "dark age" feeling to it IMO. :)

I completed the whole Armageddon's Blade and THAT was hard. It's not fun to face a hero with a couple thousand Ghost Dragons... One time while playing Vial of Dragon Blood I had to fill a lake's shore with empty ships so that the enemy hero couldn't shore next to my capital with hundreds of Black Dragons...

Oh joy, I thought, when I realized that the Shadow of Death was even more difficult. Never finished that one...

i like playing the necropolis and its heroes but I find them too weak at the beginning. The undead are awesome though if you let them get up a head of steam. Death knights, vampire lords and liches are amazing. Just a shame about wights, zombies and ghost dragons really. The only good thing about skeletons is their numbers. But that in itself makes it worth while playing ;)

I loved the viola in this music. I honestly think Heroes 3 and 5 have the best music in video game history. This did better with the Necropolis music, but Heroes 5 did better with the Sylvan (elves, unicorns, etc. for those who haven't played it) music.
