@Psychoguy99 More like Hell NO!! Vinnie and Dimebag were great in Pantera, but Hell Yeah and Damageplan just didn't live up to the expectations that they put in place. Really, though, it's not like they had an easy standard to live up to. Honestly, Phil has had better luck with his post-Pantera projects. Superjoint was awesome and Down is still making kickass music.
There would be no Pantera without Black Sabbath. Then Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Then Metallica, etc. etc., Pantera. Or go way back and listen to Budgie play "Bread Fan" and don't forget Blue Cheer.
if you want to go that far back you might as well say Robert Johnson, or even better the slaves sang songsain the feilds. ex. unearth from pantera. pantera from metallica. metallica from motorhead. motorhead from sabbath. sabbath from the beatles. and on and on and on. all the way back to mozart and native africans.
@blackstrat712 is Bradfan the only Budgie song u know? oh and u forgot to mention Uriah Heep,Deep Purple,Led Zeppelin,The Kinks(You Really Got Me was more or less the first REAL heavy riff), Sir Lord Baltimore,Lucifer's Friend,Vanilla Fudge,Cream,Jimi Hendrix,UFO, and so many other bands that laid the blueprints and developed the sound of metal
There would be no metal 2day without Pantera. All you newschool metal fans should bow down and realize that modern metal would be dead without Pantera!
@Panfukintera1 lol, Pantera didnt save metal if thats wat ur saying, all they did was create a new formula, wich in turn transformed into wat we know as metalcore today, if it wasnt for them that garbage wudve never existed, i liked them for a few months wen i was first getting into metal, but that was 7 years ago, and ive lsnd to hundreds of bands since then and i can tell u 1 thing for sure, they're nothing special, and they didnt save metal, its always been alive with or without them
i think its stupid the whole phil and vinnie thing. i mean they should jus forgive each other. even rex brown says its stupid between phil and vinnie.
@asst5 I would have to disagree. Phil was a total dick the last few years of Dimebag's life. He was so drugged up he failed as a live performer, recorded the vocals to the tracks at home while the rest of the band recorded in Texas. He insulted Vinnie and Dime multiple times (including saying "Dimebag deserves to be beaten severely" in an interview. He was and still is a prick. He just wants forgiveness because he is slowly realizing his mistake after Dime died. RIP DDLA
dontcha know that Phil and Vinnie dont speak to each otha since a while now? I think since Pantera broke up and, more than eva since Dimebag has been killed :/

Not really true
The quote was "Dimebag Deserves a beating"
Phil said it was tongue-in-cheek, Vinnie says it wasn't because he heard the audio tapes of the interview
But for some unkown reason Vinnie won't release the tapes to the public.

I think it's stupid too. Phil's always open to heal the rift, but Vinnie isn't because he's letting his emotions cloud his judgement.
