Thought of you the moment that I looked into the only unit for auction in Cleveland, Tuesday morning. Just about everyone else had left, and I ended up buying the unit for $ 45. I think the smelling box was why they didn't bother. But, um, the box contained 45 pieces of Depression Glass, Royal Ruby and is all on Ebay right now. No joke.....hand to God....
@Glendon007 Yes in deed you did tell me...I went in with the attitude that I wanted a unit, period. There were men leaving before it even started, because it was mostly cleaned out before the auction, all that was left was a tv/vcr stand, an osculating personal space heater, a nice computer chair, and the moldy, stinky, mildewy box......the man beside me said to his buddy, that he had a grant to spend, and he didn't risk the 45 one to one I bought.
@sandrajeanification - a few of my biggest profit units looked like hell and some were stinky, if you are going to be in this business you got to be about to turn shit to sugar and sugar to cakes! I know it felt good to score like that on the cheap!!!!
Have you ever found dead animals or have you contracted any diseases from those units? I have a feeling that u gotta wear a mask and gloves to go through unit
damn man i just found these videos i was looking at ur newer stuff thing that was it thinking about Storage Unit Auctions now i can get more good advice!thanks!
Have seen a few your your videos and enjoyed them. Keep up the work! In some of the videos you give information about the storage unit owner. How do you find out this information? I think that would be good info to know if possible before one buys a unit.
So my friend is correct? If he only owes $300 in rent, but the auction takes in $4000, the remaining $3700 rightfully belongs to him?
Also, if I am attending an auction, may I look through the boxes to see the contents? Or do the staff of the storage facility look through the boxes at all? Or do all boxes remain closed until after the auction?
@Glendon007-will do! But I have a quick question that I am currently arguing with a friend about. If a storage place is only owed say, $300, but the auction brings in $4,000 or so, what is done with the extra $3,700? I say that it goes to the storage facility, but my friends thinks that the $3,700 goes to the person that originially skipped out on the rent. His logic is that the property was "reposessed" and that the remaining auction profits belong to the person who skipped rent. Help?
@sportsfan91 -hopefully you did not bet your friend any sizable coin, because you just lost the bet!
The money should go back to the tenant it is called overage, it doesn't always happen that way, if they tenant finds out he was owed money and they did not do it , he can sue!
The items are not repossessed, they are evicted from the space. Same as someone getting kicked out of a house or apartment. Same law is used because you rent the space to store your stuff.
"I call 'em Georgia Suitcases..." You're too funny. I am going to start bidding on storage units real soon here. Any advice as far as not having a retail establishment like you yourself had? Is it possible to just bid on 4'x4' units, in volume, and expect to make money? I am apprehensive about getting furniture, refrigerators, etc...

How would you suggest on selling the contents? I am merely a college student looking to make some quick money.
