Bobby Flay did a show with a coffee rubbed chipotle ribeye - I added the cacao nibs while thinking about crossing that with sort of dry version of a Mexican mole sauce.
Psychology. A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally having communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education.
This recipe seems better than the BBQ Pit Boys' Ribeye Steak Recipe on YouTube. I am going to remember to get some Scharffen-Berger Cacao Nibs...unsweetened.
I think that I will make these steaks on Valentine's Day.
Cocoa powder might work, but the main difference is that it will have sugar added, which means you have to watch it real careful on the grill or the sugars will burn.
Try it with the powder and let me know how it came out!
I tried this last week. I could not find the Mexican spice in the limited time I had, but all in all, it was probably the best home cooked steak I've had in a long time.
Haha, you made me hungry, dude. I believe it does taste good, gotta give it a try. What was it with the leaves on the coal? They don`t make any difference, do they?
I'm a big fan of mole chicken & pork, and I've had a coffee-marinated brisket before, but this "Mexican mocha" steak is a new one on me. Look forward to trying it, as it's a vehicle for caffeine I haven't tried yet, plus, MEAT. Bonus!
The bonus of caffeine on meat, is that the caffeine is a natural tenderizer. But I think the amount of meat you'd need to eat to really get a buzz out of the coffee probably isn't healthy ;^)
Gad ddamn it man I wish I lived in California. Hiding from the rain in balmy London at the moment. Anyhow, weird idea with the coffee, but his whole "wet-marinade v dry-rub" exposition shows a man after my own heart, so I'm gonna try this.
