  • dude wtf the tabs are different from what you're playing and it doesnt even sound like the real song..... especially the second part.

  • I need to learn this song by the next month. And you are making it alot easier

  • Comment removed

  • thank you buddy. i got it all...huhuh

    yesss..now i can play that..:)

  • tabs need to show hammer ons and pull off, including bends so on etc. thx for the video.

  • Haha anyone else relize 420 on the beggining of the solo?

  • Could you do a main solo please. Already have that intro solo down pat. Thanks

  • that;s not the solo -___-!!!

  • awesome man! I got a question. Would you put on the chrods for the verse and chorus plaese?

  • thers a much easier way to play that solo

  • a boot lol

  • what nice guy! playing the back so we could play the solo :')

  • Omg you people really do not like rock do you?? what about the brotherhood of men? it shouldn't matter where someone comes from

  • wish he could say House........hoose

  • hahahahahah he said aboooooot! omy god

  • ur timing is all stuffed up...

  • I like this video cause it's a boot how to play the guitar solo on Wish You Were Here!!

  • not bad at all :) nice

  • Not all americans are assholes btw...great vid imma play this song a lot :P

  • ok i'm a very proud, patriotic canadian but when you said "aboot" at the beggining i hope you were just kidding because that sounded so dumb and it didn't help the canadian stereotype that canadians say that. btw other than you i have never heard a canadian say that

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 ...HAHA! i actually went back and watched this video to hear how i say "about" ( haven't watched it in a couple of years )....yeh, i say "ABOOT" on purpose in the video because people were pointing out how i said"about" funny at the time :-)

  • @BobbyCrispy southpark the movie!!!!! HaHa :D love you lessons and your accent <3 your the best!

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 so im from minnesota and i called someone in texas i met online and they asked if i was from canada...k~ i KNOW i hav heard it but not that drastic ...it doesnt sound even close to what he said..im sure he was kidding and why would he have stated he is from canada anyway other than to slip that in there..tho it doesnt help does it...notice he doesnt sound dramatic in anything else he says.. but i dig your shit crispy !

  • @1KevinsFamousChili1 watch Trailer Park Boys its filmed in Canada and they say "aboot" all the time! lol seriously though, i recommend that show.

  • I love this guy!!! i love how he said this is aboot how to play wish you were here lol but this guy has taught many many great lessons

  • @phukifiy yeah well where i come from it's ABOOT!!!! so live with it....

  • @BobbyCrispy shut the fuck up, you wish you came from were i come from and its abOUt! stop disgracing the English language!!!!

  • @phukifiy Up yours buddy. so he says it a different way, big deal

No need to whine and complain about it like a 3 year old

And don't say stuff like "You wish you came where I come from" It just makes you look like a douche

  • @phukifiy

I'm from Moncton, NB. I don't wish i came frmo where you come from. I say about, not aboot. Stop trying to fuck with a Canadian master troll.

  • @phukifiy Who's the dumbass now? Im afraid its you....

  • no no no this is an awesome video.....the reason i like it is because its not like the other tabs and other videos, its more creative....great job

  • This is incorrect. Try watching Dave Gilmour before you transcribe his work. Good effort though.

  • Awesome! Thank you ver much!

  • I'm from Ottawa Canada, and I can honestly say 99% of us don't say A BOOT... I hate when some stereotypes are right.

  • Good lesson eh?

  • Hi Bob

  • holy crap! are you playing the backing track and the solo in the beginning you? gotta show me how to do that man!

  • THIS GUITAR LESSON IS A BOOT!!

  • @MassageTherapyVal .......I strongly suggest you watch my Youtube guitar lesson video called "Playing Songs the Right Way vs. the Wrong Way"!

  • sorry, must study the song little more.

  • thanks for these videos! you make it so easy for me to understand

  • the only reason people are hating on his lesson is because there to stupid to read the tabs and play along with what hes doing. it cant get any simpler thaan this.(face palm)

  • YOU ARE FUCKING AWSOME

    dude ! thanks!

  • THANK YOU

for understanding that you NEED to play the bit before you try to teach ppl something :)

  • @soolva ok so what part of the video are you not understanding??

  • @BobbyCrispy Oh im good. Just a indirect comment at the others who try to teach you something you got to figure out what is by putting it together yourself..

Thanks for the help tho! You really helped me well with the second part of the intro!

  • pretty good

  • Awesome man! I have seen many versions of this on the web and this is the best, most complete that I have seen, Great job!

  • aboot hahaha!!!!

  • Sucks that I can master this song because of the shaking part, I can never do that

  • Hey bobbo I was wondering they way you have your tabs set up seems awkward being that the lo e string is the top and high e string is on bottom you looks like your tabs are upside down or something i dont know i get it tho i understand just confusing at first

  • Ignore these people... if they think it sounds off, they can go figure it out themselves.

Personally, it sounds much better than the other stuff I've found, thank you SO much.

  • the 7, 9 fret part (where hose are the only frets play) is really killing me when i try to play it up to speed. I have everything else down to a millisecond except that! it's killilng me!!

  • funny thing is that you nearly swing the solo - quite different from the original. Some position shifts are not quite reasonable in my opinion. Some positions just make sense in regard of having higher string tensions on the acoustic to make the bendings work. Good thing is to see different approaches on this classic solo.

  • this is acoustic guitar?!?!?!

  • lol im from canada,,, did you mean to say a boot lol

  • I'm sorry, but you got it wrong.

  • Thankyou!! It took me ages to learn but I finally got it:)

  • Well that sure works but I think its a bit overcomplicated for nothing... Maybe its more of a lesson for expert who want to do it in a more complex way.

  • I thought when people tried to do canadians accents and say "aboot" they tried to overdo it to sound silly, shows what i know.....

  • Hi, I'm Bobby Crispy. In the second string, at the second string, with the second string hahahahaha

  • @tomasrega ok, the point of your comment is.......????

  • @BobbyCrispy FUCK THE POLICE!!

  • @BobbyCrispy SECOND STRING

  • @BobbyCrispy yeah I also do not understand what you meant when you said Open 5th fret? hammer on to 2nd fret I think you mix your words up a little bit bud think a boot what your saying 1st

  • ya know people should relize hes doing this for free.

  • you dont rythm and your playing it wrong ... really WRONG , N00b! =XAA=SX=A=X=X

  • @fredericobones you dont have*

  • again......you are not playing this song correctly. really, go to a music store and find an authentic pink floyd tablature book on this song. good luck.

  • It's a cool lesson, but that is far away from how david gilmour plays it. People who want to learn it how Gilmour is playing it should watch the Prism Live DVD, where can see him play and look at some good tabs or notes.

  • thank you for teaching me that solo

  • u fkn cracker thats not how u play the solo

  • thankz a ton bobby iv learnt many riffs and this is my first acoustic solo from you, awaitn for more.....u rock man!!!!!!

  • thank you bro...this really helped...those tabs helped sooo much...thanx

  • thnx bro... appreciated it..it really helped me learn that damned solo finally

  • LOL OMGGG ABOOOT

    THEY ACTUALLY SAY THAT!!!

  • Yay ! this is a lesson !!

  • Dude, wtf? I'm from Montreal and I'm just wondering why you say aboot?! Not even Newfies say aboot for christ sakes! lol, other than that, great video man =3

    Peace & Pot

  • @thelittlediablo haha i caught that too. I'm from Toronto and if and no one says aboot. Reminds me of that new adam sandler movie "I'M FROM SASKATCHATOON, EH!?"

  • thank you so much!!

  • Thank you for posting!

  • I'm a little confused, when you say open 5th fret then hammer on to the 2nd fret, did you mean play the open 5th string then hammer on to the 5th string on the second fret? Nice video by the way =)

  • omfg i got so scared...... I was trying to write down the notes(tabs whatever) and i switched to Fullscreen.......

  • thanks man :)

  • ahhahahah "aboot" but no this is a very very good lesson thank you

  • Thanks! you helped me a lot!!!

  • i dont get it why if thers 5-3 slide u slide from 3 to 5 and not from 5 to 3 , am i supposed to read tabs backwards !?!?

  • you are very helpful dude

  • I think the instruction is fine. I am strictly a back porch and garage guitarist, but I find the combination of seeing the lick, hearing it, and seeing the tab all at the same time to be very helpful.

  • thanks so much man. ive looked at tons of videos on how to play this and this is the best

  • this is a cool video man I learned to play the solo a diffrent way but it sonds the same This way is alot harder then the way I learned. It's just amazing how the guitar can be played many diffrent ways and have the same result. I think i want to try to learn it this way also. So me and my friend can play it 2 diffrent ways at the same time . Thank You

  • part of being a good player is taking constructive criticisim well. good job on finding a different way to play. but theese guys were just trying to say that when you were playing it there were audible differences. I know you can hear them too. it sounds mostly like your not punctuating the notes properly. maby you did it on purpose trying to slow it down. but it was definatly notable over your track. but again i like your method!

  • Sorry man, you sound like cool guy and i don't mean this as an insult... you really should learn the song note for note and in the correct positions before offering instruction to others. How will you know when you're ready to give instructions?... When you can play along with the original song on the cd with the speaker volume at about the same level as your guitar(unamplified), and you won't be able to hear your guitar. Know what i mean?

  • @shmeet thanks, but "correct positions"???? a note can be played in several postitions on the guitar.....take care...

  • @BobbyCrispy Yes, i understand that. I've been teaching for 15+ years now. While the pitch of a note may be the same on other strings and in other positions, the "quality" and "color" of that note is very different. Just thought you might want to know.

    Keep rockin!

  • @BobbyCrispy I disagree. The tonal quality depends on the right positions. and... look at the Pulse video of this closely. He does follow David Gilmore very closely. ( I had a long argument with my guitar teacher about this solo, and we BOTH learned a lot about both positions and tone... )

  • @BobbyCrispy you also might play it on a D50, but for the most part this is VERY accurate. Then the tonal qualities will match. This is a VALUABLE video!

  • @BobbyCrispy It won't sound the same if you do a G on G String and the same G on A String 10th fret... Position matters, and I also think yours is not the one pink floyd used, but it's still great ! :=)

  • @BobbyCrispy A note can be played in several positions on a guitar neck but the different positions it is played in DEFINITELY offer different tones for each note due to string thickness.

However I'm a believer that you play what sounds good to you, if you'd said "Improvise the solo." I would have been just as happy. I probably would/will.

His point is valid though, David Gilmour plays the first solo lower on the neck mostly on the 1st through 4th strings as far as I've seen.

    Cheers.

  • @shmeet are you dumb?

  • @shmeet lol

  • @shmeet seriously man WHAT ON EARTH does correct position mean ?? i don suppose you know that anything can be played in multiple positions.....this is what happens when a guy with zero idea of scales or any music for that matter picks up a guitar and imagines himself to be a guitarist........As for Bobby , thanks man....found this lesson really helpful

  • @nilajpresi Copy and past this in the Youtube search...

David Gilmour Wish you were here live unplugged

Play the first video in the results.

  • @nilajpresi If you don't care about the tonal differences of the same note being played on a different string then by all means, play it wherever you want. The same note(pitch) has a very different quality or timber depending on the string it's played on. By changing the positions you change the entire character of the song.

  • Your lesson is awesome, I'm picking it up very fast considering I haven't been playing long. Thanks for your awesomeness!!!

  • out of all the lessons ive ever seen i must say your lessons are the best, for me atleast, i likeee :)

  • ABOOT! hahaha

  • the best part by far in this video is the way the dude sez 'aboot' at the beginnin it fukin awsome :)

  • great guitar lesson bob

  • Hi Bob,

Thanks - your bending on higher frets is just right. I saw a video where Dave Gilmour did just that. Ignore rytrickcon - he doesn't know he is looking a gift horse in the mouth. Where do these creeps crawl out from, anyway!

  • love pink floyd been playing abut 30 yrs. don't mess with covers much. But you sir are a great instructor and player. Thanks for your time. I'll try to do the song justis..

  • Dude, thanks for your teachings. Your videos are probably the easiest to follow and understand then any i have seen online. I had a friend who started teaching me guitar (back in 2001) when we were in college. Now he lives in Calgary and unfortunately we can't jam anymore. Your play style and abilities remind me of his. I remember he once did 'classical gas' (Clapton version) flawlessly in my garage and i was in shock. Do you plan on making a 'how to play classical gas' video? :)

  • @darius2025tube oh and BTW.... 'Aboot' LOL way to throw those americans off your trail.

  • I have trouble bending the strings on my accoustic, need practice

  • @o2bchunk Nah, you just need harder fingers :)

  • thanks bob.

  • cheers mate!! TO RepreSent ;)

  • aboot :D

  • Awesom! Thank you so much...totally get it!

  • may you share the 2nd solo? I can't find it on yt

  • no,no,no..wrong,wrong,wrong!

  • this is a very good vieo that really helped me out.

actually i cant see why somebody calls this boring, for me it is always a joy to learn new songs to play.

    thank you

  • aboot!

  • Thank you sooooo much! I was having such a hard time with this from just reading tabs off the internet and listening to the original.

  • @rytrickcon "shitty teacher"....yeah that's why i have over 32,200 subscribers to my guitar lesson channel on youtube, lol.

  • @BobbyCrispy Don't justify stuff like that with replies Bobby. You're awesome and everyone knows it :-)

Keep up the great lessons for those of us that appreciate it.

  • @BobbyCrispy Don't justify those comments with an answer Bobby. You're cool and everyone knows it.

Carry on the great work for all of us that appreciate you.

  • @BobbyCrispy Here's a tip. Try to say about instead of "aboot"

    Thanks for the lessons!

  • @BobbyCrispy @rytrickcon actually its kinda upside down your statement.

hes a rather decent player and a awesome teacher.

now do not get me wrong here your are a superb player.

but your not jimmy page or hendrix or srv.(i think im fair with my statement)

oh and bobby your on 3 place in my book of guitar player---reason: you teach people to play for free and enjoy it, right under mel brown and duane allman.

  • @rytrickcon shitty interpreter

  • WHOA! Doood! I had a brain damageing stroke and another brain accident. For over 7 year my left hand and arm wern't usable . All the physical theripy didn't bring back as much fuchtion as picking up a guitar about 2 years ago did. BUT I was messing with the G-d-c-am rythum and started to try the lead. Tablature never clicked for me. My brain wouldn't hold it or interpet it right. I was just watching this and WHOA! I understand Tab reading now. THANKYOU for being here for me. Gods Peace 2U

  • @Witig .....wow that's an inspiring story!! thanks for watching..:-)

  • aboot

  • If you tabbed this solo this way, then your tabs ARE wrong. You may be playing the correct pitches (your rhythm is kinda wacky), but you're not playing them on the right strings or frets, especially in the second half.

@Oreren: it DOES make it wrong if he claims his tabs are correct.

  • fai onco

  • Hi Bobby, it sounds great, the best I found. It might be different from how Gilmore plays it, but it certainly sounds as good or better. Tx mate

  • ples etell us uhat it's about again..lol nice,,.

  • Nice job...

    Best regards....

  • you really gotta listen to what you are playing because you are playing write notes but the strings are completely wrong. doing this messes up the natural timber of the strings to the song

  • Haha, you did not just say "aboot".

  • just to let u know the 4th string it the thered

  • thanks bro can finally play the full song haha :)

  • for all dumb fucks : the tabs are right if u learn them and play it with david u notice that u r playing it right. for bobby crispy : personaly i don't like the way ur tabs are displayed i think they're confusing u shouldn't put the EADGBE strings placed like all over the place u should put it at the beginning . just saying . it is a very very good guitar lesson tho thank you.

  • nice and very helpfull

  • aboot?

  • Not only is your timing way off but you make this solo sooooo much more difficult than it actually is. The way david plays it is a lot simpler and cleaner.

  • I hope you are exaggerating the about at the beginning.

  • i dont know any music but i like really much that track and i wanted to play it in the guitar. i dont understand something in the end how the backing track is played

  • This is the right way how to play this song.

    Well done man.

  • This is not the way David Gilmour plays this song. Check out the videos to the right. Why make something so easy to play more difficult, just by trying to be a smart arse.

  • .....ok, you may want to watch my video called "my guitar tabs are not wrong"

  • @idrinktennentslager the only difference is that he plays part of the solo in a different position. sounds the same.

  • @idrinktennentslager

    Hmm...

    Maybe you just suck?

  • what about the second solo?

  • South Park is awesome. Pink Floyd is awesome.

Therefore, this whole thing = WIN

  • thanx alot! great lesson and the backing track at the end, I nailed it perfectly. fantastic

  • haha i like how you say aboot! thumbs up! lol

  • your timing's a little bit off...

  • hmm i play it differently but still nice learned this one too.

  • your guitar sound very nice

  • u r the man thank u so much that was a big help.

  • Comment removed

  • sorry misspelled your name, Correction : Bobby!

  • lol :D

  • Thanks Booby Very much!!!!! You are very good!Only one request as someone also has requested, in your tabs can you pls mention slides and hammers.I see the bends. though! Thanks!

  • aboot!!! lmao im sorry dude but this reminded me of southpark and its hilarious! nice tutorial by the way i learned it quick =]

  • it kinda looks like Ur hesitating alot

  • THANK YOU!!

i liked how you put the tab i there. next time can you pls mark where the slides, pulls and hammers are??

    THANK YOU SOO MUCH

  • i still cant figure it out :[

  • Ugh..dat was good you silly wabbit.

  • abooot!! hahahahhaahah WTF!
