so many bullshitters!!you really have no way of measuring yourdriving average, people think that par 4 dogleg with the wind behind hole they drove is how far you drive on average, and as for the clubhead speeds over 130!! im a minitour player in the uk and ex international, and am considered a long hitter, and im around the 117-119 on average
Ok, So you showed the 1st one as 103 MPH. Then you didnt show any of the other ones and say your swing speed was 119 - 123. Thats a little had to believe.
I'm 15 and I can drive it normally 270-285. I golfed today and I drove it 325 with a slight downhill. I don't think it is the biggest deal at all. My handicap is around a 11 and I just drive the ball with great accuracy. Who cares about the distance. You need to hit straight to get good scores. If you drive 300+ on average but slice it or hook it, what's the point. Hit straight and you will get your success!
@SuperHockeystud19 get your baby nuts outta here. your name just stinks of "i'm full of myself" if your numbers weren't a "big deal at all" you would have omitted every number you said and just went with "I can drive the ball pretty far for my age. It's not the biggest deal. I try to drive the ball with great accuracy. You need to hit straight to get good scores. Hit straight and you will get your success!"
Some pros swinging outta there shoes can def reach 150 mph with 1 inch longer than stock shafts if you don't believe it research it they swing at 80 percent and hit it 300 plus
Camillo can swing it 140 Dustin Johnson and tiger averaged 320 this weekend they swing it smoothly at 130 I hit it 270 on average have hit 375 down hill lol swinging at 107 - 113 btw that guy had a nice swing
I didnt think hitting a ball 300 yards /274 meters was such a big deal, I use a Sasquatch driver 10.5 degree loft standard shaft straight off the rack at the pro shop and consistantly hit that length and further and I dont play a great deal, Im 47 now and still hit it that far without a problem. Im on about 14 handicap. I'm amazed by some of the comment below saying this is agreat feat 274 meters isnt huge at all. some of you guys are ridiculous. corey pavin's clubhead speed is like 100mph and even he can hit it 300 yards at times. with proper mechanics and a draw surprisingly far distances can be achieved. 350 yards isn't even that improbable these days with windy conditions. I saw a dude drive it 380 the other day at a muni with 30mph downwind
@bobbymiles222 when did Corey Pavin hit the ball 300 yards? Not that it's a bad thing that he can't, but when did he do it? Corey Pavin can't out drive Fred Funk. Funk averaged a little over 260 yards on the PGA Tour a couple of years ago. In 2006, Pavin ranked 121st in distance at 261. 300 yards is a big deal, but this video is no help in achieving that benchmark.
D3 comps were designed for the beginners mostly used on the womans tour(doesnt mean its a womans club) but its more forgiving, high loft usually, i recommend to 909 D2, hits straight, makes u go boom
bigsleep32.....most golf shops with driving ranges will let you hit a few of their new clubs. The type of shaft, clubhead and brand works differently for differnet people. Try a few out before spending the money.
p.s. Tiger's Club head speed is between 125 and 135. That's moving.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good driver for distance? my driver is a bout 10 years old I like it but with all the new clubs coming out I thought it might be time for a newer model.
@bigsleep32 i really liked the callaway ft-i and i think i am going to get the next generation ft-iq. it fixed my slice and now i draw it all the time btw just get the club with a neutral face
I laughed when I saw this video. You only show the radar once at 103 mph. Then you announce speeds of 113 - 123. I don't think your at 300 your swing it's very sloppy . I'd say maybe 260-280. Nice video though.
Alright i have a question. I need a new driver and i was tested to see what driver would fit me the best, the machine consistently said 140-150 mph and i only hit the ball 240, how the fuck are you guys hitting the ball 300 yards and only have a swing speed of 100-110?
do u hit it straight or do u hit big cuts or draws???....slow ur swing down and focus on hitting the blll in the center of the club face for more accuracy and length
140-150 is the speed of the ball off your club face. not the speed you're swinging the club. only long drive competitors who can hit it 400 yards have swings over 140mph. I'd guess your speed is upper 90's to low 100's given the speed of the ball at take off. Lastly a swing speed of 100-110 isn't going to put the ball 300 yards. Mine is around 110 and i hit it about 270 consistently. I've hit the ball 300 yards with no tail wind a couple times but i had to swing out of my shoes to do it.
HOLY SHIT i never said my handicap was fucking good i can drive the ball 300 yards just beccause i can do that doesnt fucking mean i cant work on my putting which brings my score way to high which i need to work on any7ways were not watching a putting vid damn MAN FUCK with the wind behind me yes i can hit it 310 so stfu and i doubt you fucking even play the game anyways like i said happy golfing:) there i fixed the fucking smiley face
my boss has a driver he's not allowed to use in competitions, he can hit it 350yds no problem whereas his normal driver he can only get up to 300yds with it. I'd love to be able to hit the ball that well, i've only been able to master it on playstation :)
I love all the fuckers that post comments on videos showing peoples swings, they all talk about being 14 and having a 3 handicap and being able to drive a ball 300 yards. Its bullshit. Most pros on the tour today couldn't drive 300 yards when the were that age. Every fucking video on youtube about golf there is always some 14 year old golfing prodigy that is masterbating on his screen while he lies about his handicap, equipment, and ability.
half the pros don't even drive 300 yards (at least not consistently and accureately). And with the new rules coming in banning square grooves in club faces, you may see even less making 300 yds purely because they can't afford inaccurate drives.
@ColesChannel you also have to realize pros when they were 14 didnt have the equipment we did today...i agree most of them are lying about the 300 mark but i'm 19 now and hit it 300 consistently, about 240-250 when i was 14...excellent comment though...
ok im 15 adn i know my swing speed isnt 115mph its more like 100-105 and i average about 280 to 290 but on a good drive i'll hit about 310 hehe i love golfing been golfing ever since i was 8 :} happy golfing
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
275mtrs (300yrds) - so what.. Thats just clipping it well. I mean shit, I hadn't played in 8 months and still managed 315mtrs down the middle on one. Get out of the Sunday Hacker world before posting and wasting my time again..
Sure you do, lol, Tiger's swing speed is 130 and most PGA Pro's are around 114-118. If you're swing speed is really 134 and you're only hitting it 280 you either need a new driver or a new swing.
first of all u r talking about ur ball speed, you are probably only swing in the upper 90s, and low 100s, i have a swing speed of 105, and i consitently reach 300+, i also have a lenghend driver shaft, so more clubhead speed
i'm an average joe golfer, but i hit the taylormade burner 317 in a launch monitor, pretty sure my swing speed is around 110, maybe a little higher at times. not sure how accurate that reading was, but it shows you what technology, maximized launch angle, and spin rate can do for you. if this guys can hit 119 swing speed, he ought to be able to eclipse 320 easily when he maximizes these factors. i agree that he is working too hard.
i bet if he had the right club that ball would fly 340. His release is really late, and that club is releasing early. Bad combo. Go build a real driver dude. R9 son. Get it fitted at taylor made.
He is working really hard for 300 yards. If you can not hit the 300 hundred, work on your hand speed and your body twisting. When you get them working together well you can do it easily.
And I am laughing at this cause once you hit 300 you find it very easy to keep doing so. Do not kill yourself trying to hit it out of the park, you loose all of your control. Learn to do it with as little effort as possible. When he hits it 300 from the ground, or 400 form the tee, then put up a video.
Its not hard 2 hit it 300 yards. I play of scratch and i can do it all the time. Its no big deal. I wud far rather hole more putts that hit a long ball.
You don't need a club head speed of 120mphto hit the ball 300 yrds. The average tour speed is 115mph. Its all about ball speed, lauch angle and rpm's. That's why Sergio's club head speed is 114-115 but his ball speed is 170+. He carries it that far consistantly.
Driving the ball 300m STRAIGHT would be a handy ability to have. I don't think anyone would chuck it back (fishing term) if they could do it. Thanks for the vid r3search. Thumbs up!
I'm a 10 HC with 2k+ in my bag. Ping Raptures/Taylor Made. Pride is an exception, but I will say that the 15-25 HCRS are the ones that spend the most on clubs. I found clubs that to me are easy to hit, Ive had them a yr, and wont switch for a long time. 2 of my buddies that are scratchish, drive 270-300. Guys that Ive played with that are even longer than that, haven't been good on their approach shots, or around the green.
What's funny to me about videos like this is the concept of hitting the ball 300 yards...I thought the point was to hit the ball in the hole in the least possible strokes....why don't the long drive champions go on tour and make the 5 million Tiger did this year? LMAO - I play with a 1970 Hogan personal wood Driver and 4 W - 1980 Hogan Apex II Irons 1I / 3 - E - 1990 Ram Tom Watson Wedges - Ping B63 Putter and have no problem beating guys with $1500 + in equip in their bag - hit it 270
300 yards is the distance which turns par 5 holes into par 4's. 300 yards makes long par 4's short. Golf is a game of probability and statistics with no officials who decide the outcome. Master and control the probabilities and you win as Tiger has done. Hitting 300 yards with control is the biggest step you can take to tip the probabilities in your favor. Why? You get closer and hit more greens. More greens= more one putts. More one putts=more birdies=lower scores.
I agree with you wasn't bashing the video (I think it's a great video)...I just like using the wooden clubs to test my game..I can land my 4W softly on par 5's - I also use a Precept Tour Premium 9.5* with a Grafalloy ProLite shaft and can hit most short 300 - 320yd par 4's - also can hit most 550yd and less par 5's in 2 with my Precept and Sonartec 13* 3W or even my Taylor Made Raylor Tour Prefered 16* 4W - I just am comfortable with long shots - still play a 1 iron (my favorite club)
Are you also hitting persimmon fairway woods? I found some old circa 1970's Spalding top flight fairway woods in my basement that I'm starting to really like. Oddly enough, I'm finding the old school persimmon fairway woods easier to hit...
Yes I am.......Hogan personal woods from 70's Driver and 4 Wood.......Wilson 5 Wood from 60's (all are laminated)..........they are easier and that is the big secret......the woods have a bulge and roll that when hit on the toe they draw back in and when hit off the heel they fade back in.....but many people think that they are hard to hit.....and that 'thwack' sound is so lovely...instead of the "tinny' ping sound...you many loose some distance, but you are in the fairway and not the trees..LOL
I would give anything for some nice high lofter persimmon fairway woods....7 wood and lower. I play a very short tight course that was built in 1929. I'm trying to play the course how it was designed to be played. I can rip it 300+, but that often gives me awkward approach shots. The first hole is designed for a driver that's no longer than 270yds right up the middle, to the left a down slope rough trap, and to the right street and trees. I respect precision golf, and power golf.
Great, I have the perfect club for you.....a Stan Thompson 'Ginty'....it's about a 7 W....has the keel soul.....look it up....most of the older good players know about his club.....very long and rough is no match for it......send me your address on my page and I will ship it to you.....I always use my Wilson from the 60's (looks like a rescue wood - laminated wood) it is long also....so I don't use them...I have an original and one I refinished....you sound like the home they should be at...LOL
ye how can a swing vary from 103 to 119 in about 10 seconds thats the equivelent of 3 weeks non stop in the gym. for that kind of improvement or maybe more.
not being funny lads, but I play off 18 albeit I should be lower if I got to play regularly, but while 300 flat with no wind is a big drive, its by no means worthy of a video! I would expect to hit 300 yds 1 out of 4 at very least and as I say play off 18.
ya same here, its not hard to hit it that long, the only problem is straight! I can crank it easily over 310 on the driving range but it makes no sense to use it on the course because its always like crazy draw or fade, so I cut back on the power and get by with like 250 or 270...
Hitting the ball 300 yards is fucking well hard. Ive probably done it about once and had the whack the ball as hard as i could and hit it bang in the centre of the face. You're better off averaging 250 yards because you'll be more accurate. And all you guys that are saying you drive 300 yards often, its bullshit most tour pros dont average that and the biggest hitters have swing speeds above 130mph.
im 13 and i have a club head speed of 105 and i drive a consistant 275-300 with a taylormade burner with 10.5 loft on it. so you dont really need that much club head speed to drive it that far.
275-300 yards. even though me and you have the exact same driver same make and same loft and i approximately have a club head speed of 112. (i had a club head speed of 98 when i was 11. I cant even hit it that far. who are you trying to bull shit? i drive the ball 250-290 on average. and im 14. I know that must be all you do if you can drive it that far.
A club head speed of 110 is all that is needed to drive 300. What is also needed, however, is a perfect launch angle and spin rate. Swing speed of 110 + 14 degree launch + 2500 rpm backspin = 300 yards.
Never saw any of the balls land, probably hooks OB. Swing speed is much easier using long light clubs. Accuracy is much more important.
I hit 300 with the old metal wood heads. I could hit 330 or more with graphite but was too wild and scores went down. Unless you practice a ton its better to hit about 250-260 and keep it in play.
But tiger makes almost perfect contact with the ball. If you hit the sweet spot on the club and strike the ball well, you can swing slower and get the same result. Check out Freddie Couples. He swings easy and clears his hips through that ball really quick. It looks effortless and he hits it 290-300 and he's over forty.
How to Hit a Golf Ball 300 Yards? Play on shitty course with hardpan or with messed up yardage markers. It takes at least a club head speed of 130 to reach 300 yards.
I really think you should not pay too much attention to the radar. The first swing, 2nd, and 3rd all sounds about the same, but the first was only 103mph? I think your machine is off (they really aren't that accurate.) You have a nice and powerful swing but.... other things like downhill (which you were hitting) wind (didn't see much), fairway hardness (doesn't look very hard) all should be taken into account. Check the LDA videos on here, they post swing speeds and distances if you need ref's.
This is the fucking STUUUPPPIIIIESSSTTTTTT fucking video I have ever seen.. The audio quality is DOG SHIT! Plus who gives a fuck, this asshole can hit it 300 yards OB! What a fucking moron.. people get so wrapped in in distance.. hit the fucker straight before you hit it long.. ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!
Talk about getting wrapped up? You are not the short guy in your group are you? Sure, its easy to hit it in the fairway if you use a 9 iron. Relax a bit bro. Getting worked up over a stupid video... sheesh. I hope you don't let something as insignificant as an opinion on a video affect your game while playing.
k its really not that hard to hit 300 yrd drives... im 17 and i drive 290-310 depending on the wind. considering i started golfing last summer in july i dont think its that hard to learn how to connect with ur drives.
weeeee look what I can do. Come to japan and play me for money. My average drive is 289.4 yards so your 10.6 yards better than me. And im 8 inches....around. I do like the fact that you hit sort of an "old school driver" many props for that. YOu have a great swing... lots of whip and fury!!
My avg swing speed is 108 mph with a 44 1/2 driver, thats when im hooked up to a $25,000 machine from the titleist tour van. When Im hooked up to the cheap-ass 40 dollar machine you have, it says 125-130 mph. If your swinging at 125-130 then you are hitting it 320 to 340 depending on launch angles and spin rates. Soooo
lol this is funny! why do people show off their swing speed? post the scores let us see if what did you shoot with that "SWING" speed. haha remember there's a lot of people that has way faster swing speed than yours. 300 yards drive that with the carry right? haha
You're an idiot. So you hit the balls, and if we assume you were telling the truth, you had one swing that was 103, one that was 116...and when you're out in the fairway you said your swings were consistently 119-123. Your swing speed isn't 123, bud. Tiger's is usually around 125 or so and you don't swing the club as fast as he does.
I agree...it is one of golf myths that all PGA players have swing speed 120+..according to US PGA the average speed on PGA tour is approx. 113mph..how far the pros hit?
to be fair, all you are trying to do is hit it as hard as possible, i bet maybe one of them went straight. I have a regular swing speed of between 90-100 mph, and rarely hit it over 300, speed is nothing! Tempo is the key.
and the swing on the vid is a powerful move, 103 with a fairway wood

don't forget the trajectory and spin
trajectory + ball speed = carry
total distance = roll
i can consistently carry 280+ but i don't get much roll on my shots due to the flight path and that leaves me at anywhere in the 300 yard ish

Most pros on the tour today couldn't drive 300 yards when the were that age. Every fucking video on youtube about golf there is always some 14 year old golfing prodigy that is masterbating on his screen while he lies about his handicap, equipment, and ability.

ok ill post a vid soon of my swing. an dill be 100% honest. I just started, im 16, my drive sucks. and it needs improvement.
CODlova 2 years ago
half the pros don't even drive 300 yards (at least not consistently and accureately). And with the new rules coming in banning square grooves in club faces, you may see even less making 300 yds purely because they can't afford inaccurate drives.
slapstik89 1 year ago
@ColesChannel you also have to realize pros when they were 14 didnt have the equipment we did today...i agree most of them are lying about the 300 mark but i'm 19 now and hit it 300 consistently, about 240-250 when i was 14...excellent comment though...

Sure you do, lol, Tiger's swing speed is 130 and most PGA Pro's are around 114-118. If you're swing speed is really 134 and you're only hitting it 280 you either need a new driver or a new swing.

i'm an average joe golfer, but i hit the taylormade burner 317 in a launch monitor, pretty sure my swing speed is around 110, maybe a little higher at times. not sure how accurate that reading was, but it shows you what technology, maximized launch angle, and spin rate can do for you. if this guys can hit 119 swing speed, he ought to be able to eclipse 320 easily when he maximizes these factors. i agree that he is working too hard.
bobbymiles222 2 years ago
i bet if he had the right club that ball would fly 340.

When he hits it 300 from the ground, or 400 form the tee, then put up a video.
drift13b 2 years ago

Its not hard 2 hit it 300 yards. I play of scratch and i can do it all the time. Its no big deal. I wud far rather hole more putts that hit a long ball.
Barrie1985 2 years ago
You don't need a club head speed of 120mphto hit the ball 300 yrds. The average tour speed is 115mph. Its all about ball speed, lauch angle and rpm's. That's why Sergio's club head speed is 114-115 but his ball speed is 170+. He carries it that far consistantly.

Guys that Ive played with that are even longer than that, haven't been good on their approach shots, or around the green.
cowboysfan782008 3 years ago
What's funny to me about videos like this is the concept of hitting the ball 300 yards...I thought the point was to hit the ball in the hole in the least possible strokes....why don't the long drive champions go on tour and make the 5 million Tiger did this year? LMAO - I play with a 1970 Hogan personal wood Driver and 4 W - 1980 Hogan Apex II Irons 1I / 3 - E - 1990 Ram Tom Watson Wedges - Ping B63 Putter and have no problem beating guys with $1500 + in equip in their bag - hit it 270
prideventures 3 years ago
300 yards is the distance which turns par 5 holes into par 4's. 300 yards makes long par 4's short. Golf is a game of probability and statistics with no officials who decide the outcome. Master and control the probabilities and you win as Tiger has done. Hitting 300 yards with control is the biggest step you can take to tip the probabilities in your favor. Why? You get closer and hit more greens. More greens= more one putts. More one putts=more birdies=lower scores.
r3search 3 years ago 13

DeniedHealthCare 3 years ago
Yes I am.......Hogan personal woods from 70's Driver and 4 Wood.......Wilson 5 Wood from 60's (all are laminated)..........they are easier and that is the big secret......the woods have a bulge and roll that when hit on the toe they draw back in and when hit off the heel they fade back in.....but many people think that they are hard to hit.....and that 'thwack' sound is so lovely...instead of the "tinny' ping sound...you many loose some distance, but you are in the fairway and not the trees..LOL
prideventures 3 years ago
I would give anything for some nice high lofter persimmon fairway woods....7 wood and lower. I play a very short tight course that was built in 1929. I'm trying to play the course how it was designed to be played. I can rip it 300+, but that often gives me awkward approach shots. The first hole is designed for a driver that's no longer than 270yds right up the middle, to the left a down slope rough trap, and to the right street and trees. I respect precision golf, and power golf.
DeniedHealthCare 3 years ago
Great, I have the perfect club for you.....a Stan Thompson 'Ginty'....it's about a 7 W....has the keel soul.....look it up....most of the older good players know about his club.....very long and rough is no match for it......send me your address on my page and I will ship it to you.....I always use my Wilson from the 60's (looks like a rescue wood - laminated wood) it is long also....so I don't use them...I have an original and one I refinished....you sound like the home they should be at...LOL

not being funny lads, but I play off 18 albeit I should be lower if I got to play regularly, but while 300 flat with no wind is a big drive, its by no means worthy of a video! I would expect to hit 300 yds 1 out of 4 at very least and as I say play off 18.
michaelkeown 3 years ago
bull shit, u would be lucky to hit the ball 1 in 4 times let alone 300 yards unless u play in the himaleas. if u r off 18

bombing the ball 300+ yards isnt all that hard
im 17 and i can do it
well unless the course measurements are wrong lol
i have a pretty fast swing and huge shoulder turn, problem is, 2 out of 10 hit the fairway, the rest draw or fade
WestBromSte 3 years ago
ya same here, its not hard to hit it that long, the only problem is straight!

And all you guys that are saying you drive 300 yards often, its bullshit most tour pros dont average that and the biggest hitters have swing speeds above 130mph.

im 13 and i have a club head speed of 105 and i drive a consistant 275-300 with a taylormade burner with 10.5 loft on it. so you dont really need that much club head speed to drive it that far.
mmagyar14 3 years ago
275-300 yards. even though me and you have the exact same driver same make and same loft and i approximately have a club head speed of 112. (i had a club head speed of 98 when i was 11. I cant even hit it that far. who are you trying to bull shit? i drive the ball 250-290 on average. and im 14. I know that must be all you do if you can drive it that far.
jmo14mla 3 years ago
A club head speed of 110 is all that is needed to drive 300. What is also needed, however, is a perfect launch angle and spin rate. Swing speed of 110 + 14 degree launch + 2500 rpm backspin = 300 yards.
DigitalShaolin 3 years ago

etterbrah 3 years ago
Totally gay video of a guy full of himself.
Drive for show putt for dough baby.

fuck 130 mph to hit 300... tiger swings 125 and i think he can hitmore than 300
rossqwertyuiopasdfgh 3 years ago
But tiger makes almost perfect contact with the ball. If you hit the sweet spot on the club and strike the ball well, you can swing slower and get the same result. Check out Freddie Couples. He swings easy and clears his hips through that ball really quick. It looks effortless and he hits it 290-300 and he's over forty.

tiger's swing speed is 136mph

How to Hit a Golf Ball 300 Yards? Play on shitty course with hardpan or with messed up yardage markers. It takes at least a club head speed of 130 to reach 300 yards.
musicdudetoday 3 years ago
I really think you should not pay too much attention to the radar. The first swing, 2nd, and 3rd all sounds about the same, but the first was only 103mph? I think your machine is off (they really aren't that accurate.) You have a nice and powerful swing but.... other things like downhill (which you were hitting) wind (didn't see much), fairway hardness (doesn't look very hard) all should be taken into account. Check the LDA videos on here, they post swing speeds and distances if you need ref's.

Your swing speed isn't 123, bud. Tiger's is usually around 125 or so and you don't swing the club as fast as he does.
