When one considers how the economic system works with credit card debts, low wages etc. I can see numerous labourers who are not "free". They are stuck working in mills and factories. Although the debt isn't owed directly to the employer, it is the debt that enslaves the worker. And should the worker not pay his debt, the law will come down on him. When slaves were freed they were given ample grain, wine, and livestock [Dt 15:12-15]. If a wife was neglected she was automatically freed [Ex 21:10-11]. Gentiles were to be treated and loved the same way as Israelites [Lev 19:33-34]. The list goes on. The problem many have with the Bible is gross misinterpretation. You need to research the Bible verses properly, for full understanding.
I bought a three disc movie set years ago. They were made by two frenchmen filmmakers. Who against all odds got these made. There were not well received(understandibly)They said(documentary)that they tried to capture slavery as dipicted in the history books. They claim that America and other countries rallied to keep things quiet and misleading about the process of slavery. They were seen as controversal pioneers among their peers.

My freshman year in college our professor told us that slave owners would send the slaves to church so that they would learn that God said that they have to obey their slaveowners no matter what. and the slave ownes would use the Bible to manipulate and get the slaves to do whatever they wanted them to do. what do you think of this because i think its pretty sick. they were just a bunch of sickos taking advantage of foreign peoples.

However, the type of slavery in the bible was the type that was common among all cultures.. not that it makes it any lovlier. It was not an industry and according to the scriptures that I read, there were laws that after a certain time a slave or servant was to be freed and could stay if they loved their master, but it was a choice.. I think they were to be set free with goods or provisions as well, not destitute. They weren't classified as inhuman.THIS slavery was a whole diff MONSTER.

That being said though, there is the flip side. People in the Bible like Joseph were enslaved, so it wasn't just blacks who were slaves. Also there is the fact that the slave trade couldn't have occurred without the collusion of africans. And finally there exists no verse in the entire Bible that bans slavery.

When one considers how the economic system works with credit card debts, low wages etc. I can see numerous labourers who are not "free". They are stuck working in mills and factories. Although the debt isn't owed directly to the employer, it is the debt that enslaves the worker. And should the worker not pay his debt, the law will come down on him. I'm not saying that this is unjust. But that this mechanism is still in place to some degree.

When we read the Bible we must use the exegezis.
We must consider the context of time when that or that statement was proclaimed. Slavery in the Bible was not the same kind of slavery we think of today. What it did not condemn was indentured servant kind of slavery where people were slaves for a limited time to pay off debts etc. or homeless people who had nothing and agreed to work for someone just to have a place to stay and food to eat.

When slaves were freed they were given ample grain, wine, and livestock [Dt 15:12-15]. If a wife was neglected she was automatically freed [Ex 21:10-11]. Gentiles were to be treated and loved the same way as Israelites [Lev 19:33-34]. The list goes on. The problem many have with the Bible is gross misinterpretation. You need to research the Bible verses properly, for full understanding.

On this we agree: 9/11 conspiracy theories are bunk. That atrocity was the work of religious zealots obeying the Koran's demand to exterminate infidels in Muhammad's correct interpretation of Abraham's' vision. However, 9/11 was "useful" in awaking rational humanity to the dangers of Islam and igniting the campaign to exterminate this monstrosity. Christianity may yet prove some service to humanity by furnishing soldiers and material to destroy the greater danger, Islam.

American blacks on the whole have little if any egyptian, olmec, or isreali blood. They are mainly from African tribes. I spent a few weeks with the Masai.However, most blacks have white too.Also, genetically american blacks now have more in common with american whites then with Africans. That is genetic of course not necessarily visual. Black skin is dominant. If you have a litter of puppies and some are black and some are white they are still closely related.

chattel slavery in the U.S. was not the same as slavery as it was practiced my other countries, I suggest you look into the history of slavery a little more yourself. Black people in America are still enslaved, whether they know it or not. They never recovered from their slavery, it is a condition, both mentally and physically.
