  • There has never been a great rock band with a female member - including Fleetwood Mac. That being said I do enjoy a few of their early songs.

  • i love peter green but MAAANNN lindsey did awesome and most importantly he covered a song done by two guitarist! that's just amazing

  • Lindsey can really play that axe.

  • I love both versions of this song -- Green's and Buckingham's -- but LB doesn't get the credit he deserves as a phenomenal guitarist.

  • Ilike Peter Greens guitar work better!

  • @GrooveThingTV Shows that being a guitarist in the 'Mac is not a good thing for one's health: is that where they got the idea of the drummer's curse in Spinal Tap?????

  • Well no this isn't identical to Pete Green - how could it be? Nothing can match the guy who wrote it at his own song. But Lindsey has an impressive attempt at it and went on to lift Mac to unheard of heights. Thanks for posting this.

  • Not really trying to stir stir any ire,but it is PAG who is overated not Lindsey. People get the facts straight it. was Danny Kirwin who played the lead on this originally, not Pag.I would say PAG is only the 4th best gutarist to have played in the Mac. 1. Danny Kirwin

    2.Lindsey Buckingham

    3.Bob Welch

    4.Peter Green

  • @bullikins, Danny Kirwan indeed played the lead parts in the original version. Like you I prefer both Lindsey Buckingham and Danny Kirwan over Peter Green, which doesn't mean I don't think Peter Green wasn't an amazing guitar player. Buckingham and Kirwan just touch me more deeply. Buckingham has that amazing finger tight picking style, but can really make his guitar sing. And Kirwan had that very exciting finger vibrato and special manner of breaking off a sustain. Both are very underrated!

  • love this stuff....was there that night.. as under rated as Lindsay may or may not be ...Stevie Nicks is equally over rated. Thank God she left the stage for this song. Like Lindsey... please don't compare him to Peter as a guitar player. His true gift was producing and mixing.

  • love this stuff....was there that night.. as under rated as Lindsay may or may not be ...Stevie Nicks is equally over rated. Thank God she left the stage for this son. Like Lindsey... please don't compare him to Peter as a guitar player. His true gift was producing and mixing.

  • I met Lindsey at the Southwest Baggage claim in JFK. I politely excused and introduced myself to him as a huge fan. He showed no annoyance at my interruption , He is a Prince. I admit I was borderline rude. But I just said in a polite calm matter that I was a big fan. He was fine with it. we shook hands and said "its a pleasure". we chatted for 10 seconds-i was going one way he the opposite. But he was such a classy gentleman-made my day. we departed on amicable terms

  • I like this version of the song. Because I love Lindsey Buckingham, and I love that it's only three minutes long. While the first three minutes of this song were blues genius on the behalf of Peter Green, the last six minutes in the full version were really boring and didn't hold up to the first third of the song. Not that I would mind a longer version of Oh Well, but it was really done poorly in my opinion.

  • Lindsey is right up there... he's great.

  • Lindsey is one of the best guitarists in the world in my opinion..doesn't get enough credit

  • @claptongroupie Totally agree!! Lindsey is very underrated guitar player. I think when he joined Fleetwood Mac that's when they hit top!!

  • WOW! Thanks for posting this video. It's the first time I've ever seen him do this song. Lindsey totally nailed it.

  • I saw Lindsey do this live on tour in October 2009.. he's still got it!! he was fabulous!! Thanks for posting

  • Both versions are great, remember as well Lindsay was pretty much on his own on guitars wheras in Peter Greens Mac there was 2 arguably 3 lead guitarists.

    Great band whatever era

  • I was there for this one!!! God I miss The Cap Centre, saw many a kick ass show in that place (what I remember of them anyways!!! LMAO) ;-)~

  • thank you as always for post. Fabulous!!

  • I come back to this video a year later with a new out look on this song, although I do LOVE Lindsey, this song sounds better as the bluesy mac song... peter had a better guitar tone for it.

  • peter, lindsey, peter lindsey, thats all i ever hear but Danny played lead on this song and he deserves a mention too ya know

  • @jimmydanpage maybe they didn't know that or went back that far though you would think many people would know. I try to read everything I can up on FM and still learning things but yes we should all be familiar with their contributions.

  • Peter Green and Lindsey are BOTH great. They both have Soul.

  • Am I allowed to like BOTH Peter AND Lindsey's playing? Cuz I DO! :)

  • Yes!!! Both Peter Green and Lindsey Buckingham are awesome on this song! Does anyone know if the five-person '75 lineup "covered" any of the other older Mac numbers? Bob Welch's era gets lost in the shuffle even more so than Green's, Sentimental Lady notwithstanding.

  • @RadioZesFliPinkNirv

The did Hypnotized, Station Man & Green Manalishi on this tour and they are all on You Tube somewhere.

  • @MrLeglamp ~ You are correct, but this line-up has also done Tell Me All The Things You Do ~ live also. (:

  • @MrLeglamp Thanks Mr. "It's A Leg!" guy.

  • ejilister ~ Sure. To each his (or her) own. (:

  • @ejlister yea you are sure., You're not biased coz I feel the same. FTR, I don't know this song "Oh Well" by FM, only know a few before the Buckingham/Nicks added lineup BUT wanted to know what the song was about so here I am viewing!

  • mac with lindsey is a cleaner less muddled sound but green came up with the neat song- every guitar player learnes the hammer ons on the second fret but green made it a cool song ! a very cool song !

  • @nootaramus When I first learned to play this song, I picked it up from listening to the live version that appeared on one of Mac's best-of albums from the early '80s - with Lindsey on guitar. I don't ever remember hearing the original unitl maybe five years ago.

  • What makes Lindsey Buckingham such a amazing guitarist in my view is he from an early age developed a very unique style of playing especially his travis picking on electric, his playing and compositions are awesome and original he does not sound like everyone else, oh well is an old classic but not a Lindsey composition i think he plays it great and look at his guitar work on his own songs e.g Big Love acoustic, i;m so afraid, Time Precious Time etc. That's why he is my favourite guitarist ever.

  • You cant compare two different groups.....two totally different guitar players...Peter Green is better at solos but Lindsey Buckingham can get on the stage with an accoustoc guitar , play for 2 hours and no one gets bored...I dont think Green can do that...also LB is a great producer and arrangement (if this is the right term)

  • Lindsey's version is fucking identical, both Peter Green's and Lindsey's "Oh Well"s are awesome as shit. It's the same damn band, Fleetwood Mac is Fleetwood Mac, this band has always been extremely flexible and they cover so many different genres, no wonder they stand the test of time.

  • Thanks for your kind comment!! Glad that you enjoyed this!! (:

  • don't get me wrong though, Peter Green is my hero. This version is just good too. Danny Kirwan and Lindsey are both awesome too, the Mac has had it's share of guitar gods.

  • Very true!

  • this is soo good I think it's better than greens mostly because I ;ove Lindsey

  • Ibap94 ~ I agree. Thanks for your comment!! (:

  • Lindsey is such a PHENOMENAL guitarist on his own - its like he was lost in the mix in FM - this oh well sounds uninspired and watery ( I saw FM 5 times 1969-74 as a kid NO comparison!)

  • I think Lindsey's version is MUCH better than Green's, but that's just my opinion. Sorry, but I don't care for Peter Green, NEVER did.

  • It will never be Fleetwood Mac without Peter Green.

  • I TOTALLY disagree with you.

  • I love Fleetwood Mac before and after Lindsey and Stevie joined. The album, Future Games, still gives me goosebumps more than 35 years later.

  • I do like that album, but nothing compares to the Lindsey/Mac era (in my opinion). (:

  • Well, this version is pop music, like everything Lindsey does, whereas the Greeny's one is blues. That's the difference between the "american" and the "british" Fleetwood Mac.

We can't compare two different groups. :)

  • I agree i like Lindsey's version much better. I just saw these guys in concert and they played this my mom couldn't think of the song and i found it and got it off of itunes and she would try to headbang with it. It was so funny. And not only does this song have a great beat it has humor to it.

  • Thanks for your great comment and for viewing my video!! It's GREATLY appreciated. (:

  • NO problem. Live on Fleetwood Mac.

  • i love this band, from the original 4 ,upto the rumours line up,now a devoted stevie fan. this version is fanatastic, lindsey can match all the great guitar players, old and new.when not watching the vid,you could easily think this WAS a peter green performance.

  • Glad that you enjoyed this!! (:

  • Peter Green version is much better, the playing was so much tighter. Noel Gallagher rates him very highly so i take his word for it

  • I'm sorry (georgebestbonham), but I disagree with you. I think that Lindsey's version of this song (as well as all of the other older Mac songs) is MUCH better. That's just my own personal opinion, though. By the way, who gives a crap what Noel has to say.

  • lindsey is the best ever! you cant top his voice, guitar or looks, hes amazing! tusk is my fav though, and go your own way.

  • VERY true!! Thanks for your great comment!! I do like Tusk, but Go Your Own Way is my all-time fave song. (:

  • I wished they had mentioned Peter Green...who STARTED Fleetwood Mac and made this song famous. Wow, can't believe they didn't give Green credit.

  • Peter may have started F.Mac, but *Lindsey (and Stevie) is the one who is largely responsible for them being so great, long lasting, and successful. (:

  • best song ever made.

  • Glad that you love this one!! This is a great song. (Go Your Own Way is the best song ever made, in my opinion. ) (:

  • I had forgotten they did this song - excellent thanks for posting!

  • You're VERY welcome. Thank you for your comment!! (:

  • Kick-arse song and great video!

  • Thanks so much!! (:
