  • thanks this video helped me a lot in me engineering homework cheers mate :)

  • US Steal Nanticoke rules the land bitches.... Canada owns ....period

  • I worked at Kentucky Ele. Steel for 14 years, electric arc furnace is the way to go. No need for coke or coal and 10 times cleaner.

  • ...oh shit! Time to ward-off the libs #1,'product': "GreenWeenie Bullshit" It starts at the mines' first,'shot' at the ore...when the,'Purple Striped Flaming Anus Maggots' environment becomes threatened by the Evil Steel Giants! Who come along and rape nature for the, 'Wicked Wizards' Metal Wand...

  • why do you have to add iron to recycled steel scrap? wad does the recycling process do to tamper the steel? i read that steel does not lose its physical properties during recycling

  • thanks so much uploader!! this really helped me with my school work! ;D

  • Can you imagine the shear it takes to cut thru these huge chunks of steel!! I operated a one inch shear and it was huge, I just can't imagine one that could cut 8 inch thinck steel, WOW!!

  • Who in their right mind would or could click the dislike button on this video? The dislike of this video are probably from foreigners and terrorist who hate the Great USA, or maybe Chinese that hate the USA! God Bless the USA!!

  • students in Hong Kong are watching this to do their Geography homework. (I am one of them)

  • I'm high as fuck, this video just blew my mind.

  • The song in the background sounds awesome. What is it?

  • yeap....proud to be a steel worker.especially in caster department.electrical instrument.hello from malaysia...megasteel sdn bhd malaysia

  • Modern mass produced "steel" compared to that produced 50 years ago is terrible quality, it is so bad due to the high percentage of scrap introduced before the iron is converted.Impurities from the scrap are not removed;the more its recycled the worse it becomes.Modern mass produced steel machines poorly and corrodes many times faster. In the past even the lowest grade steels exceeded modern standards for mass produced steel.Mass production = low quality, quality steel costs many times more now.

  • Proud to be a steel worker :)

  • @JFguitar22

yes man.. i'm also proud same like you, hello from Romania.

  • @JFguitar22 yeap....proud to be a steel worker.especially in caster department.electrical instrument.

  • @arep3727 i'm in the same department...i'm usually in the control room and sometimes outside to work on the casting

  • @JFguitar22 i'm not pulpit operator.i'm electrical supervisor.

  • @arep3727 ok i rather to be in steel caster than a supervisor but this is a question of taste

  • @JFguitar22 who care..?

  • @arep3727 hey man fuck you and shut up i don't care about you go shit on yourself in your electrical department i fucking don't care

  • @JFguitar22 lol. stupid kid.nah.you are fresher.

  • @JFguitar22 bodoh. emak kamu adalah babi nak mampos. baru berkecimpung dalam pembuatan besi dah mengelabah. please use google translate if you not unnderstand my word..

  • @arep3727 Saya pikir Anda harus pergi dan fuck diri Anda segera. tolong katakan padaku sesudahnya bagaimana rasanya. I hate you

  • @prankcallerpl0x bodoh.pundek lu lah woi.ungek tata pandi.bapak ko bodoh.

  • 0:37-0:39 holy shit!

  • sorry did i hear correctly united stated steel.....bloody crap steel more like......bring bach sheffield steel UK....worlds best steel any day !

  • Great video. Is new steel ever manufactured without the use of old recycled steel? AKA virgin steel. Does anyone know? Thanks.

  • unfortunately most of our steel industry has been moved to stinking communist murdering china.

  • @Arelak

Yep, there is no EPA to deal with in China.

  • @acepilot340 Or anyone to challenge the use of slaves.

  • Absolutely awesome video! Thanks!

  • We want to eliminate any type of pollution that could come from factories. Waters used should return elsewhere not back into our drinking water.

  • @tnguyen318 and where did you have in mind?

  • I do not know. I am not an expert in this matter. One idea is back into Factory Water.

  • Cool!

  • Instead of using coke ovens to transform coal into coke, use LTC Karrick retorts that converts 1 ton of coal into smokeless semi-char w/c burns hotter and produces salable by products like 1 barrel oil, 3000 cu.ft of high BTU gas that can reduce energy costs or sold to further lower steel production costs. Using pure oxygen in blast furnace can further increase efficiencies by producing more iron per ton of fuel consumed. Co-generated electricity can also lower costs & subsidize steel production

  • @darthvader5300 do u even have any ideea about what r u talking >

  • What is coke?

  • @darthvader5300 I like your way of thinking, co-generation or even poly-generation is the future in all industries, if you research the work of david blume author of alcohol can be a gas, you will see that fuel can be made cheaply and sustainability without sacrificing food production infact it increases food production and cleans out oceans etc etc.. look it up mahalo for the post!

  • @FineHawaiianArt Thanks for the information. My advice in return is look at Professor John Todd's Living Machines and Biospheres and the new Industrial ecosystem wherein the industrial wastes of any industry is used as a raw material by an another industry which can be combined with Living Machines technologies like the Solar Aquacells that requires 1 acre of land to process the sewage of 10,000 people and producing biogas energy, food, fresh drinkable water, and employment

  • im doing a project on steel, does anyone know where most crude iron ores that are made into steel are mined?

  • Nice vid, nice music

  • This is a good "modern" view of steel making and the state of the industry. I have gravitated toward the older industry as it matches the time line of the model railroad that I am working on. Fun stuff.

    Birmingham Rails

  • genius human

  • wow orgasm seriously....i'm overwhelmed.

  • Brilliant concept of illustrating the 'Iron and Steel' making process for common people like us.

  • goddamn! y can't i download this vid?? it's part of my report and i should've got it!

  • Very Interesting and informative. Why not share this with a wider audience to help them understand the magic and the importance of steelmaking in the US?

  • good work and interesting. You folks should do more of this sort of thing.
