Personally, I do feel sorry for the few coyotes fans that there is in glendale. The fact that you support the team at all down there is admirable. For US cities, the team will return even if there is no market. For Canadian cities, the team will never return, market or no market. Al Strachan thinks the NHL ultimately wants 32 teams. If so, the 2 new teams most likely will be in Houston and either Kansas City, Cincinatti or Cleveland.

Winnipeg and Quebec are cold as shit, they both had strong hockey markets but their organizations were shit and they both lost their teams. Why does Phoenix get bailed out if Winnipeg didn't? Looking at the number of teams in Canada vs. the number of teams in the U.S. in contrast with the number of actual hockey markets that exist, I would say that that the states have an unfair and costly monopoly on the sport which is ruining Canadian hockey culture. It's not like we don't want hockey in the states.... just not Phoenix.

Gary Bettman will never allow another Canadian team to happen, no matter how much it will improve the NHL financially or generate interest. Another Canadian team, especially at the expense of one of his pet sun-belt teams is to Gary a fate worse than death and bankruptcy. I feel bad for any true coyotes fan. hockey is such a great sport, and for any die hard fans who really appreciate their local team, it must be a terrible time right now. I'd say the same applies to Islander fans to. While i'd like to see all teams stay put (and im a ranger fan, i want the isles to stay) financially it just can't make sense. I hope it works out, but if not, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Kansas City, all seem like they'd embrace a new team

The Islanders team isn't going anywhere, they are fairweather fans like Pittsburgh and Buffalo. The ownership killed that team, it needs to be sold to a hockey person. The Isles were the best team in the league when I was growing up. They aren't going anywhere.

their glory days are far behind them though. When they pick tavares, it'll help. Still, that team is bleeding money. If they don't get a new arena, and nassau county doesn't appear like they want to help fund it at all, a move is a possiblity. One of the best rivalries in sports would go with it between my Rangers and them. Definetly don't want to lose that. I didn't get to see it in it's heyday, but it's still always intense. Their problem is that on Long Island, there are alot of ranger fans
