This is exactly what I am trying to do! As a rookie team (2984) it's quite a challenge. Have any tips? I'm basically trying to turn full force in whatever direction the colors are right now and then going to use area or something to maintain distance.
You have the right idea, but you don't want to go FULL power if you are only a little bit off. If you set your motor power to be proportional to how far off you are, you will find it tracks much more smoothly and reliably. Send me a PM on chiefdelphi and we can talk about how to do this.
