  • I used a cable tie to carefully tension the spring. I also found that if I popped the grey corner section off (from the top upward and forward) helped get off the panel.

Samsung Aus quoted up to $500 for repairs. :) Sorry Samsung but no I won't be ripped off like that.

30 minutes and working - Thank you for the info.

  • all users, be cautios not to over strach the spring....if you do....you may have a hard time reseting the mechanics of the dev sensor....the spring it a factory default....

  • thank you my friend.....it worked well....suggestion, before assembling assure to blow any dust away...also be catious to miss align the gears from the dev switch...if u accidetaly do.....spin the black shaft (horizontal black piece that is linked to the white gear)...if it begins to grind....turn it again....it will realign by it self.....

  • Thank you. It worked on my mom's printer.

  • Worked for me as well. The spring is attached to a metal arm on the left side. I stretched it outward wirth a pair of pliers.

  • thanks! it worked for me

  • how exactly did you strech the spring? I have the same error on a 2160n, which is quite similar now that i see the 3160n

  • @joseardzm Expect you found out but for others just pul the end and loop in about 10 coils of the spring down and with a fine pair of long nosed pliers create a new loop to hook on the moving plate. Be careful as the spring is quite delicate
